Cool another addict ^-^

Although I think I love anime just as much as I love manga.

I can't really generalize as to which I prefer. For some I liked the manga better, for others I preferred the anime.

But I've adored reading ever since I was a little kid. I would devour books. To the point I hurt my eyes and had to get glasses for reading, because I strained them too much.

I would drive my poor father crazy getting the maximum number of books out of the library, sometimes needing to go back the NEXT day to replace them since I had finished them already.

And they weren't easy kid books either.

For me it started off as a habit born from trying to escape the world so I would be left alone. I was always at my happiest with a book in front of me. In fact if my teachers saw me without one they would be shocked.

One of my favourite things to do is curl up with a good book or manga.

In fact I think my anime watching time has gone way down because I've been reading so much manga lately.

I just finished a really wonderful series called Crossroad. Its about a little family made up of people who aren't actually blood related to each other. They at one point parted ways and recently came back together and through some trials and tribulations find that despite being pretty much dumped by anyone who is actually related to them. All they needed to be a family was each other.

If anyone is interested in a more detailed summary of it, let me know and I'll do my best.

In any case I absolutely recommend it.

I just got through the most recent chapter of Vampire Knight and Hoshi no Utau. I won't list the others I'm currently trying to read we'll be here all night! ^-^ Course it was a slow night manga-wise since I watched Transformers again.

Just know that you are not alone in your manga addiction ^-^

Ahh Hubby-sama would probably like that picture too. Of course you'd have to pry him away from the Bome Full Metal Panic figures he came home with today from the comic book store. Which I think were totally awesome, he was probably thinking they were totally hot. But really my main thought was. HEY! You guys get all these sexy figures of anime chicks.

Where's my Sagara figure complete with Arblest! Or Kurz, Kurz is pretty...

Sorry got of track, GO MANGA!

"You need to learn one thing about boys…. everyone of them read porn or hentai when they were kids…and hidden from parents"

Porn was much more exciting when i was 14 and hiding it from my parents.

Well. I noticed she was reading, and I´m a guy, what do I get?
Then when I read what you wrote I had to doublecheck and noticed she wasn´t wearing any panties...

Reading books on one day is fun. Espacially if it´s a good book you really live and want to know what happends next.

I´m no fanatic, since I have enough trouble getting time to play the videogames I along with my studies. I save money that way sure but hell, I want to read more manga. And not the mainstream stuff either.

"mangas are inherently richer in plot and animes are inherently richer in action"

I would also disagree with the first point, there's plenty of plotless anime and manga, and plenty of good plots on both. I would disagree that there is a predominant leaning either way to be honest. Although I would agree that anime can better portray action for obvious reasons of medium.

"mangas are inherently richer in plot and animes are inherently richer in action"

I don't think this is necessarily the case. The animation of the anime certainly lends itself to actual moving action occuring, but if done well, some manga panels can show much more action than anime. Usually what you say is the case though (Seiji punching cars in episode 2 of the Midori Days anime is a brilliant example of this). And at the same time a lot of manga plots are pretty crappy, and anime can condense plots such that the crappy portions are minimized and the finished product is at maximum efficiency. But again, it's not a catch all thing. :P

I can relate to that, but the manga is a a large dip in the budget. Whereas I have no problem in downloading anime, I think scanlations are a bit sucky to read.

I am also an avid manga reader, though I usually read 1-2 volumes a day. I buy about 30 volumes per month and I have a collection of ~2000 volumes. Every now and then I must sell/donate/throw away some minor series because I have no more space to store them. ^^;
Fortunately the manga market in Italy is well developed, with 50-60 publications per month, so I have a lot of choice in what I read.

Re FMA: the manga version is superior, but the anime has its merits. Instead of leaving an open ending for the lack of source material, they chose to develop an anime-only storyline which wasn't that bad.
