Odex is freaking hacked!
It seems that the ODEX site is happily hacked by a very unhappy fan. If you cannot get to the page, it is likely because it takes a while before the propagation of the site actually starts off. I was actually trying to go see how the ODEX site is turning out to be, only to get this pink website staring in front of me. A tad confused, I thought that I stumbled upon some porn website with a typo mistake, but affirmed that the site is correct.
It is then I realized…someone must have hacked ODEX.
My reactions? I laughed. Very darn hard. Oh, I do think that the person who did this will not be laughing too much when he gets his legal letters for a huge fine or jail term for this. Hacking onto a professional website, especially one that has quite a bit of media coverage, is not the smartest idea in the world.
Edit: Darkmirage found this out earlier. So, I am not the only bored person at 3.40 am.

I have just learned that the appropriate term for his grammar style is “Singlish.” Good to know, because it sure as hell isn’t any English I’m aware of.

There’s a difference, subtle and insignificant though it may be.
Heck, 90% of the internet population use bad English so what does that leave them with to profile this “villain”? Well for one, he’s no Nazi, at least the grammar kind.

I kind of feel sorry for Odex… and for the hacker, if he gets caught.
You would think things will settle down since the Pacific Net fiasco, but no, it’s probably going to continue spiraling downwards.
I wouldn’t say the hacker’s grammar is too bad. It’s acceptable, IMO, except for a few blatant mistakes here and there. It’s the spelling that I took note of.

It has been awhile but I do believe this article, a specific part of it, piqued my interest which led to an opinion that must be shared. For the particular individual who hacked and cracked his/her way into ODEX’s space online, there is a good chance ODEX might hire him/her as its staff who will handle some of their web affairs, or not, but it would be nice to see what will come up next. This ODEX issue is escalating to more and more intrigues.

@Author: I am pretty sure that Russians can spell English pretty well. I think. They definitely can spell better than Nigerians.
@Calawain: Oh, error somewhat as Dkellis pointed out. It’s a mixture of singlish and bad engrish altogether.
@Amgine: LOL, well, I think the percentage is not 90% but perhaps 89%! I think that it’s just a very silly act in my opinion. If you hate ODEX, do something that is legal instead of something that might cost your future. It’s not a smart thing to hack any site.

@Hatori: If anything is to go, he is from Singapore, and he is going to have a very fun time in the courts for this. I am not a pro-ODEX member, but doing this just shows a rather immature reaction toward an entity that is disliked. I might sound heartless, but when people breach the law this way, they should be punished.
I do not see this as guts, but more of stupidity.

Well, to the most extent I agree that what the hacker did is pure folly. Gosh, if he gets found out he’s going to be in REALLY deep trouble. I got a friend who was sent to the boys home because of hacking, and even now he is under heavy scrutiny by the police.
Still, you have to understand that it is Odex. Odex already angered too many people with their actions, which locals deem as unreasonable. There is still a LOT of anger against Odex, hence the hacker went a bit out of his mind.
Besides, how is it a loss for Odex? It’s not like they have their forums or eve make sales by the website. The whole anime community of Singaopre is STILL boycotting them.

I doubt that they will catch him, as long as he is a country other than the U.S. or the U.K. he is safe.Also, if this hacker atleast somewhat cautious he will atleast used a proxy.
At least he *did* something. While his actions are criminal, I say that ODEX can suck it. Me, I just hope that he’s somewhere safe, where they won’t get him. Hey, it’s no skin of *my* nose if anything happens to ODEX, so I say: Good job. ^_^
