Once again, this episode is just a recap of the two frauds. The only fresh thing that is perhaps important is how Seiran warned Ryuuki that he is giving way too much preference and power to the Ran and Kou clan. Other noble clans are starting to be annoyed at the bias from Ryuuki, and is wondering if they are even trusted. Seiran told him to be more careful and be less naive in his actions.
That’s about the only new information. Shuurei is happily cursing Seiga to insanity in the preview. So, if anything, next week will definitely have quite a bit of humor!

Thanks for the update! No pictures of the 13th Princess? I’m so excited to see how she turned out in the Anime!

next episode features the new female character arrival and yeah seems like it’s gonna be packed with fun ![]()
Seiga is such a prick ! ARGh!
I am looking forward to the next episode.
They say there are 39 episodes to season 2 as well… I just hope they would end the story. Although, since novels had been introducing more and more complications, a season 3 won’t hurt, but that’s it. It would be too long a story if they don’t end it then.
oh, by the way… the subbed episode 7 has already been released by Sweet Secret Subs.
And, the story seems to follow a certain order…
First they release the new story in the Beans magazine, then the Novels reflect them after some time, then the anime shows what has been told in the novels then the graphic novels (manga) follow.
Currently, there are 12 novels and 3 gaidens released, the latest translation from the beans magazine i saw is another side story, we have this recap in the anime, and the manga is on its volume 3, but only volume 2 has been scanlated.
Wherever it is, characters need to evolve a little bit more.
The wait for the end is killing me!!! :’(

Do you think it’s gonna end soon? It seems like the end is not near….has it been confirmed that they are gonna make a Season 3?
malwethien added these pithy words on Nov 18 07 at 8:21 pmAn anime series usually runs approx. 150 episodes. A complex anime story with juicy, addictive intrigue like Saiunkoku can’t be shorten in just 78 episodes (39 in Season 1 & 2 each):O I’m guessing that there will be a Season 3, high chances as well for Season 4, so… let’s start doing something with our increasingly impatient hunger for more Saimono stuff XP
Saiunkoku’s NHK Japanese official website, Geneon or any other anime networks haven’t update anything about Season 3. The most they can do is update when’s the next epsisode of the Season 2 screening time and summarise the episode’s plot.
Hope this will cheer you up a little: Saiunkoku Season 2 is among the top ten Japanese Animation DVD Ranking at the moment thanks to info from this website http://www.animenewsnetwork.com. Plus it’s voted among the best rated anime production ![]()
@Heather: none at all. The preview was about shuurei bitching about Seiga completely
And oh, she ho ho ho at the end.
@Bamboobitch, Rinchan: ya…too much recaps, i want original stuff!
@Lady Kou: In a way, i kinda like Seiga because it brings Shuurei into perspective. I am not a Shuurei hater, but I do wish that she can mature more in order to improve as a person and in politics as well.
@Kaeboo: Me too! Well, I do wonder how long it will take though. I guess it’s good that there’s no episode, because my exam is on Friday…I have not started studying yet T_T
@Malwethien: I wonder too. I am sure that there will be news of season 3 soon. Well, hopefully.
@SEAmaiden: YA, i bought the collector’s edition of Saiunkoku Monogatari for my gf and she’s delighted. It’s a pity that she has a severe case of writer’s block (and she’s also down with sickness), so she cannot write about the DVD and the merchandise along with it. ![]()
I wonder if the animators are purposefully dragging out the story with recaps? Because with the current slow pace of novel releases, the anime will soon catch up with the novels. With no new storyline, the anime may stall. It could be an anime killer. gasp! Nooooo!
And PLEASE do not let the animators even attempt to come up with their own filler episodes like what happened with Rurouni Kenshin! Those last episodes they came up with didn’t do the story justice… Which led to an early death of the anime. They couldn’t even muster enough steam to animate the Revenge Arc finale of the manga.
Alida added these pithy words on Nov 19 07 at 3:09 pm@ Heather.
I think Jyusan-hime is already in the OP (at least for the last few episodes). In the shot with Shuuei wielding a sword — She’s the gal with the long black ponytail behind Shuuei. She’s holding her double swords. She’s so cool! I think the other dude to the back left might be Jin.
Alida, thank you…but it isn’t the same as being about to “see her” and not just a clip. And I’m dieing to hear her voice in both Jap and English!

what manga are those pictures from???
aznchocoholic added these pithy words on Nov 20 07 at 3:36 pmI think there must be some confusion. Jyusan-hime seems to have black hair. She’s on the cover of Novel #11 riding the horse.
The pictures from Simi’s links are from the recently released Gaiden #3 which has a side story (based in the past when Kijin & Reishin were young) about Yuri-hime, who is Reishin’s wife. But I do think Yuri-hime is so very pretty! I agree with Simi — she’s like a feminine version of Ryuuki.
Someone posted pics from Novel #12. Tha gal holding the dagger is Jyusan-hime. Here’s the link:

nicoliolioli added these pithy words on Nov 20 07 at 6:03 pmDoes anyone know where I can buy the novels in chinese? I looked on yesasia but I could only find the japanese or korean ones. If not then is it possible to download the novel? (that sounded weird…)
nicoli added these pithy words on Nov 20 07 at 6:08 pmI was thrown for a while when I looked at # 27 and it seemed to be old scenes. If not for Ryuuki and Seiran I would have thought I was looking at a troll version.
I think the story might be picking up from next ep.
I also think that if they go up to the present storyline int he novels then they will end the series at # 39 if they decide to continue then they will definitely have a new season but I think it would be anime storyline.
lijana added these pithy words on Nov 20 07 at 6:12 pmSimi — That is a picture of Yuri-Hima…Reishin’s wife!
heather added these pithy words on Nov 20 07 at 7:55 pmaznchocoholic — those pictures are from a “side story” novel Gaiden Volume 3. Summary translation can be found at http://yuzutea.net/log/tag/saiunkoku/
heather added these pithy words on Nov 20 07 at 7:57 pmHmm, have you heard rumors of season 3? I had thought the anime would just stop at season 2, because there really isn’t enough story to animate. I don’t watch all of the anime, but IMHO, from the cuts that they make from the novel story in the anime, it does kind of look like they’re planning the cleanest ending they can under the circumstances, by getting rid of the subplots that are likely to come to a head in the next novel volume. In some ways, though, I kind of would like to see them do OVAs of the Gaiden stories, which might be difficult in the anime because it would involve them leaving the main timeline, but I highly suspect that the later novel stories are going to really build on the gaiden stuff.
charmian added these pithy words on Nov 20 07 at 8:36 pmI did not see any information on a new season coming in as yet. I wish there is, but without enough backstory to cover it, I do not want fillers. I prefer it ends by the second season.
Impz added these pithy words on Nov 20 07 at 10:49 pmNo fillers!! I hate fillers. If there isn’t enough material for a season 3…they can just focus on the side stories for a while until new stuff on the main story becomes available. The side stories are just as interesting as the main story anyway….sometimes even more interesting ![]()
u should have written more about this story
kagomilee added these pithy words on Nov 21 07 at 11:46 pmAfter reading the spoilers from http://yuzutea.net , I understand the need for the filler in this episode. For one, it’ll buy the animators time to decide how to storyboard the increasingly complicated epic story. They must consider both Yukino Sai (Saimono’s author) + their own envisioned Saimono to be. Secondly, I find it easier to get lost in Season 2 plots than in Season 1’s. Wow, I meant it’s good, i find it better than Season 1 actually, just that you really have to keep track hard on the many details lol :O It’s good to refresh memory on what current plot is resolved/unresolved.
Judging from the direction of the storyline, there’s definitely more to come, and I can tell that Yukino Sai (author of Saimono novels) is in control. I have faith in her. Trust me, she has yet to reach the juiciest climax yet, and it’s a lonnnnnnnnnng way off
I have one uncontrollable itch to let out from me, so please allow me to vent it out:
Shuurei, for the love of God, when the heck are you going to start falling in love?!! I know that true love waits, but please don’t be tediously stupid to miss every good opportunity! PLEASE SHUUREI, WAKE UP AND STOP BEING AFRAID OF LOVE AND BALANCE IT WITH WORK!!!!!
(p/s: DON’T READ SPOILER BELOW IF YOU HATE SPOILERS!! I JUST NEED TO LET OUT STEAM HERE TO ALL WHO KNEW AHEAD OF THE NOVELS…)
I can’t help but admire Ryuuki even more. It’s soooo good to see him maturing finally in his sense of direction to become king at the Hyou sacred shrine. I hope the Hyou clan would recognise the true king in him one day. Ryuuki is extremely talented that needs some honning the rugged edges out. I have thought of the possibility that one day he would have to abdicate, judging the way the the whole kingdom is rising against him. I soooo hope it would not come to that mess :O
For once, Shuuei is finally justified! I wasn’t quite comfortable with him womanising around, but the way he felt for Shisui at her ‘unrequited love’ dance, the way he holds her fan tenderly (aaaaaaaaaarrrrrrgh! It’s so freaking sweet! I suddenly want him to end up with Shisui :P) And waaaaah, now he’s one power to be reckoned with after revealing his true power with his fighting skills. Even Jyuusan or Ryuuki didn’t see it coming. Wow, that guy may have lost his valuable inheritance as a member of the Ran clan, but I believe his unrevealed powers will serve him, Ryuuki and Saiunkoku well in time ![]()
Sorry Impz, I tried to work out my spoiler there on “SEAMaiden November 22nd, 2007 8:01 am” but I’m not sure if I work it out right. Please fix it for me when you have the time. Thanks and all the best for your exams ![]()
After reading the summart at yuzutea.net i can sort of understand, because i have no access to the japanese novels so i hav to find summaries to read. but i you keep reading. you start to doubt, who exactly will Shuurei end up with. now after this there might me some spoilers for people who haven’t read the manga reviews but the way that Jyusan-hime is feeling sorry for Ryuuki, he might end up falling in love with Jyusan-hime instead of Shuurei. Those reviews really give you the doubts about Ryuuki and Shuurei’s relationship. I don’t think Shuurei will realize and fall in love with Ryuuki anytime soon. This girl is absorbed in her own work too much. I mean I really love the type of women like Shuurei, but I mean, I don’t want her to be that stobborn(i think i spelled that wrong, if i did then sorry guys-_-). I don’t think any of us want her to be that stubborn, but in the end i hope they at least show who she falls in love with. but now its still episode 27, 28ish i don’t think the series is going to end with season 2 only. i mean even though they’re supposed to have 39 episodes, its not enough to put a complete halt to the series. If they do then i shall scream. but if you think about it then all those little Shuurei and Ryuuki moments under the cherry blossom trees and other places where he kissed her *screaming just thinking about it* and hugged her in the last 2 seasons. it would be a complete waste for him to end up with another girl! but i hope there will be an episode where Reishin will finally intro himself to Shuurei and tell her that he is her uncle. and an episode for just the kou clan’s past. that i think might be intresting. and i hope they also reveal Houju’s face soon!!! i really wanna see it. i’ve seen it on the manga shots but its better to see it in color and sometimes the anime drawings are a little different from the manga drawings!
aznchocoholic added these pithy words on Nov 24 07 at 7:32 pmThanks for updating, Impz! Even though this was a recap I did like the Ryuuki/Seiran moments. And thanks for translating what Seiran said to Ryuuki, that is, not to show to much favor to Kou and Ran clans otherwise war could break out amongst clans. Seiran is just way too cool! I like how he is always looking out for his little brother and at the same time, there for Shuurei too. I really like Shuurei’s character. This is what I think is a reverse harem. Shuurei is more like the “Tenchi” of the story, that is, everyone around her seems to want to marry her but she is too oblivous to notice. Well, maybe not. I think that since she was given the opportunity to help the poor and to improve her country she is committed to doing that. With season 2 drawing to a close, I would say if they don’t create a season 3, they will end it the way most harem type anime ends. Shuurei will secure a position as a politican for the people but will never commit to love. I think she will probably remain friends with Ryuuki and Seiran will stay by her side as long as she remains single. Ryuuki will turn out like his father and will take women into his harem so as to have an heir for the country. I don’t think Ryuuki will ever love another woman the way he loves Shuurei, but he has no choice but to move on. It is his obligation as Emperor to produce an heir. Before it’s over I would love to learn more about the Kou Clan/Ran Clan. I hope they don’t rush the Bare-Hime arc just to finish off the series.
Gypsy-chan added these pithy words on Nov 25 07 at 4:04 amI love this series. But I’m really disappointed that it doesn’t look like Shuurei is going to fall in love with Ryuuki anytime soon. I don’t understand why. If Shuurei does not fall in love easily with men, why did she seem to fall in love with Sakujun in the first series?
