@Anon: One team will lose and it's terrible for the losing team. It's not just that they have worked so hard and in the matter of 9 innings at the first hurdle, be eliminated from the competition for the summer, but also that both teams played well in a truly absorbing contest. Take a bow, Nishiura and Tosei - doesn't matter who wins or loses - both teams played very well.

The <b>Oofuri</b> anime team have done a wonderful job right from the get-go. They managed to bring the award-winning manga it is based on to life extremely well and in my opinion, as I've mentioned previously, made the anime even better than the manga.

Same here with Leongsh. I know the story already from the manga, and was expecting a slow comfortable pace when watching the anime, but Abe's battle cry and Hanai's nervous wreck (when Abe missed the second pitch) swing my mood quickly to the heart throbbing, high tension side. And Tajima's winning pose especially pumps the excitement up XD. I wish I haven't read the manga... Props to all Oofuri staff!

It's kinda sad that in the next ep, one of the team's dream will be crushed. Either way, we won't see Tousei as much anymore, which is just too bad. Tousei does not lose to Nishiura in terms of camaraderie, which is amazing for a team with a lot of members - the competition must be cut-throat there. I can't help but to think what Oofuri would have been were Tousei the home team. Instead of the head-squeezing Momo-kan, we'll have a coach who nags like a drill instructor. Instead of the childish Tajima, we have the silent Aoki as the 4th. Instead of battery drama, we might have drama from the competition between friends (Jun and Riou come to mind), although I think Tousei lacks quirky characters, Junta might be as weird as they can get there... Anyway, let me stop imagining -_-.

Even though I have read the manga and know how the game progressed, I was still enthralled by this episode. The quick recap set the stage for this do-or-die inning for Nishiura and ensured that the tension was there for the episode. When it was Tajima's turn to step up to the plate, I couldn't help myself cheering for him - especially when he gives a thumbs up and confidently winks back at the bench (<a href="http://img407.imageshack.us/img407/930/vlcsnap163464ub6.png" rel="nofollow">link</a>).

Next episode is going to be very tense and exciting. Can't wait to see it animated. :-)

Love the soundtrack as it does a great job in accenting the show and the action unfolding. The OST CD has been released last week but I've grouped it with my pre-order of Volume 4 DVD coming out next week. Looking forward to that shipment to come in.
