Hmm… This actually isn’t such a new concept. I’ve come across a manga+food+internet place before — pretty big, and it was right across the road from one of my job interviews. Can’t remember the road though.

HOWEVER, the general cleanliness and nice decor factor IS new. Because the place I saw was rather grubby — low cost, you know?

Other than that, there is also a rather nice Japanese books+good food place along the Singapore River. Forgot the address too, but should be pretty easy to find. I think there were some comics when I last went.

Coffee + manga + internet = WIN as far as I’m concerned! The nearest I’ve seen in our neck of the woods is Cafe Manga, which is a decent and manga themed but otherwise not extraordinary eaterie on London’s Embankment (still several hours train ride for me though). I think the anime/manga culture has a LONG way to go before we see themed eating/drinking places nationwide – still, it’s odd to see manga on show in a cafe in London. If nothing else, it gave me opportunity for a sandwich and chilled bottle of Asahi beer on the banks of the Thames in the sunshine. ^_^

oh, i am not inside the pics I am a man of mystery ^^ Honestly, I just do not really like to be on the camera since I am not too photogenic…

Well, they generally allow you to read the manga they have there while resting and relaxing. Hence, it is definitely a very good place to chill out with your friends.
