*ding-dong*
Sort of off-topic: I’ve thinking of writing Zombie Loan for the past few weeks… but somehow I just didn’t do it. ~_~ Maybe because I’m exhausted most of the week. Maybe because summarizing Zombie Loan will take more effort than I am willing to spare.
The question here is this: if I drop the screenshots and summaries altogether (or 99%), would anyone still want to read my posts? Zombie Loan readers, please feedback.
*ahem*
We bring you back now to the regular schedule.
————————————————————
Following last episode, Tokyo has been transformed into an arena of RPG/anime/manga/Jap-pop-culture, complete with its very own mahou shoujo – girl with the magical wand (in this case a magical stick) – and Dragonball-ish shounen (except not as short and old school in design).
Other points of interest would include Kazuma and Ren’s charm. The former displayed a kind of brooding-hero vibe (reminiscent of Lestat except much cooler than that pale bisexual vampire), while the latter shed a lot of his baby cuteness and went ferocious for the first time.
Summary
The episode opens with Kazuma chasing after the woman he calls “Cui Ling

heeeheee first comment yay! I think that after this episode that Kazuma won’t take Ayano much for granted anymore. If Cui LIng was someone he failed to protect then he wouldn’t want to bear the burden of failing again. So maybe he’ll be more aware of ayano…who knows?!
To be honest I never read the summaries simply because they spoil the episode for me. But the screenshots are different. I think a selected few from each episode would do if you’re not in the mood for long posts, Having said that I still think you need at least 6 for each summery you make.
Nonetheless, in this episode, simply by virtue of that scene at the top of the building, it would seems as if Cui Ling is more important to Kazuma than Ayano.
It’s quite obvious that at the past and even in the present, the only woman Kazuma loves is Tsoi Rin. My opinion is that the reason why Tsoi Rin is so important to Kazuma, is because she is perhaps the “only one” who accepted Kazuma Kannagi for who he was, i mean i doubt Ayano knows anything about Kazuma before, she did say he was just a guy she beat with only one flame and not remember him at all. So for someone like Kazuma who no one in his whole life considered him as someone important, it was Tsoi Rin who probably is the only one who recognizes him and his talent for wind arts. That’s why i dont blame kazuma at all for loving her that much, if i was in his situation and someone finally recognizes me and accepted me, i would consider that person to be very important.
@Kei-chan:
True, i believe that Kazuma does love Tsou Rin so much, that’s why it came to much shock to him to see her alive. He would probably do his best and give it all on saving her, i mean she is still in the present and he wouldn’t just switched to Ayano (who i believe he doesnt love at all, its the fact people, i mean he doesnt even blush lol) he would continue to love Tsoi Rin and would probably always will considering Kazuma’s past and their relationship.
Thanks again briar. That should keep me going until the subs arrive…
In case anybody wants more information on the KnS anime ‘usagijen’ on http:/scrumptious.animeblogger.net also blogs the episodes plus gives a ‘deep frying’ comparative analysis between the light novels and the anime episodes.
Well, I guess if Kazuma failed in protecting Rin/Cui Ling, then obviously he’d have this complex about protecting the people around him, which might explain why he is so big on getting stronger. Right now, it’s unclear if his relationship with Rin was/is? platonic or something more. Or, if he was in love with Rin, then maybe he’d feel guilty about falling in like/love with another girl.
Just speculation.
Thanks, Briar!
I’m answering your Zombie-Loan question. I would still love to read whatever thoughts you wish to share on ZL. For me, the screencaps are nice but not crucial to a review. I just glance over them most of time. The episode summaries are more important to me. Using this KnS entry as an example, I haven’t see this episode because I don’t watch KnS raws. Without the summary, your thoughts wouldn’t be as coherent. So I would hate to see the summary part dropped. Perhaps you could just write less detailed summaries? (I know how hard it can be to write shorter summaries. I have a hard time writing short summaries myself.) Nevertheless, whatever you wish to share about ZL, I will read.
I look forward to seeing this episode of KnS. I like Ren. I’ve enjoyed watching his growth through the series. Kazuma and Ayano are fun to watch, but for real depth of character development look to Ren.
I’m also responding to the ZL question. Seriously, too much happens in Zombie-Loan to continously write a full-out summary. I’d just love to read your thoughts ^^
Response to Zombie Loan Inquiry:
Anything will do. I love the series and watch it as soon as it comes out. Your thoughts about it would be something for discussion.
Aaaaahhhh, jeez darnitalltohell!!!! Man, if only this would be subbed right away like naruto and bleach! Then we’d all be happy right? I’m not. CUZ ITS NOT LIKE THAT! Hmph! Why does it have to be this way?! wwwaaaaaahhh thanx briar! Jeeez ur summaries tell me what’s going to happen and then i gell all excited about watching the episode and then its not out in subbs and then i go crazy and then i just whine all over the computer and then its its finnally subbed and then the new episode’s summarized her and then the whor cycle repeats itself!!!!!!!AAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!
In response to ZOmbie-Loan question:
It will be great if you could do it! The anime, at the present, is worth summarising. Though of course, that is only my opinion. it will be wonderful to hear others opinions ^^
@ maya: That is true. I’m hoping that through adversity, their bond will grow stronger. It’s long past time for their relationship to find a real hardship; otherwise they will always remind as they are, one infatuated with the other and the other not adverse but passive.
Good luck for waiting for the next episode! I know I watch it earlier than you, but I still only get to watch it once a week, so I totally understand how you feel.
@ Kei-chan and Nagasumi: I can’t deny the fact that at the moment, Kazuma is a lot more in love with Rin than with Ayano. However, I hold a lot of hope for the future.
It is true that Rin may be the only person who recognizes Kazuma Kannagi. However, Kazuma is no longer Kazuma Kannagi; he is Kazuma Yagami now. What defines Kazuma Kannagi is his rivalry and aminosity to the Kannagi and most especially his father. However, Kazuma Yagami has overcome that obsession and even begin to heal that rift with his father.
My point is that the Kazuma now is different from the Kazuma of the past; ie the Kazuma that fall in love with Rin. And as such, this different Kazuma has a greater chance of having a relationship that works with Ayano.
He needs someone like Ayano, IMO. I don’t know about Rin yet so far, but while I know that Ayano cannot replace Rin in Kazuma’s heart, I believe that Rin quite simply cannot replace Ayano in Kazuma’s heart either.
Personally, I think I can sum it up to this: Rin is the past. Ayano is the future.
@ strichone: You’re welcome.
I truly enjoy usagijen’s deep frying posts as well. They are truly very informative if one wants to know what truly happened in the light novels. Especially when the anime doesn’t quite deliver (like the episode with the hot spring thing).
@ Liana: I totally agree that he has a complex on protecting and getting stronger. I don’t think he recognize love even if he is falling in love with Ayano, though.
So he probably wouldn’t feel all that guilty. I think guilt probably stem more from being unable to save Rin from being sacrificed.
@ LKK: You know, I never realized Ren looks so good.
But seriously, I do agree that Ren has probably changed the most from episode 1. While Ayano has grown in fighting skills and probably emotionally as well, and Kazuma has learnt to hold more than hatred and sarcasm in his heart, Ren has grown both physically and emotionally. I can’t imagine Ren today would wait for rescue like in episode 1 and 2; I’m looking forward to seeing how he faces the Big Bad next episode.
@ Boobies rock, LKK, lemonsparkz: Thanks for your feedback. I’ll definitely be taking it under consideration.
Gaaaaaaaah there’s another romantic interest for Kazuma?
Dammit and just when he and Ayano seemed like they might be making some progress.
I finally caught up to episode 14 of this. I’m waiting for 15 etc to appear ^-^
Ah well I can keep my fingers crossed that those two crazy kids end up with one another in the end. I’m an optimist after all.
Well DAMN! I’m REALLY pissed now! My number 1 reason for watching this is to see if falls for Ayano or not! () DO NOT REEAD ON ON IF U DON’T WANNA KNOW!!!!!!!!!
Here’s the spoiler guys!:
ok here goes: (i read this somewhere i don’t remember where but it was some other blog)For some reason Kazuma goes crazy and Ayano calms in down with a serious, yet romantic talk. Something happened that made Ayano blush (or got her mad i don’t remember sorry) and she turned to walk away. As she did, Kazuma kissed her hair as it flew by…
so i thinks there’s some progress!!!!!!! But the person who wrote this on the other blog said that he/she knew someone who read the Light novel and told him/her that.
Maya, thanx 4 the info!! now i think they will improve and live on a great life together!! Thanks you cheered me up yay!
