My, what an amazing turn of events, Strawberry Face has defeated The Lion King, and just after he picks up the Dragonboobs to rescue Snow White....Edward Scissorhands joins the game! Not before shearing some of the Lion King's vitals though! And ladies and gentlemen, lets not forget Strongsad, who is currently wanking in the Twilight Zone waiting for his turn to swipe at Strawberry Face! From what my hubby tells me, a lot of people are upset not only at the little progress Naruto has made, but at the lack of the title character. He's been very irritated to the point where for the last month he's been calling the manga Sasuke. Hopefully the fact Naru has just met up with Itachi will mean we'll get a little bit more of the title character for a little while. Although the younger Uchiha is more than likely going to rear his pretty head (I'd say ugly but I'd be lying) considering Itachi is his target. What really irks my hubby, is that just when Naruto gets stronger then Sasuke has to somehow be even better. He also pointed out to me that now Sasuke can heal quickly just like Naruto. Although it doesn't surprise, after all hasn't Kishimoto said that his favourite character is Sasuke? @Lupus, I agree that Madara is a very interesting character. For some reason a lot of people keep thinking that this manga is drawing to a close. And I tend to disagree, considering he's still introducing mysterious characters like Madara. And even if Sasuke gets rid of Itachi there is still the rest of the Akatsuki to deal with. I think what I like better about the fights in Naruto as opposed to Bleach is that the outcome doesn't necessarily rely on power. In the end it was Sasuke's quick thinking that saved him. The very formula for the Ichigo vs Grimmjow bout you can see in the Soifon vs Yoruichi bout during the Soul Society arc. That formula is basically tier 1 fight > tier 2 fight > tier 3 fight > flashback > end of fight. Because of the nature of the Hueco Mundo arc, people have tuned out after about 20-30 issues of straight up, rather formulaic, battles. Part of it is also that the story assumes you have some vested interested in the characters that were made to be vested in. For example, Grimmjow was obviously portrayed with a rebellious streak that was supposed to invite some curiosity. But overall, I think its hard for readers in general to "connect" with the Espada in the same way as the Shinigami, let alone Ichigo's "Team Nakama". I mean, he trained under bloody Jiraiya, the least he could do is show us a few more jutsus, or at least being able to pull off a rasengan without relying on kage-bunshins.
