Firstly, somewhat off-topic: Some may have noticed my absence in bloggersphere this week. This is due to the fact that I’ve found a job and am now working 11 hours daily. There’s little time for me to sleep, much less blog. So this means that I’ll most probably be dropping one or two series in the near future (or actually near past). Devil May Cry is on the top of that dropping list, as episode 5 failed to inspire me to write anything constructive and I’m too exhausted to write something witty.

I will, however, hang on to blogging at least until Impz come back from trampling over jungle (concrete or otherwise) in green fatigues. After that, we’ll see.

It also means that I’m short of time, so my posts may be a bit sparse of screenshots (which take up a lot of time because I’m technologically challenged and because of my sources) and details.

Ok, on to the review.

—————————————————————————————————

This week has Katherine the American enjutsushi (fire user) challenging Ayano to another duel. This time, her trump card is Kazuma, who has agreed to serve as Katherine’s coach. Or is there more between them? How is Ayano going to deal with this second duel, both physical and emotional? Will she win without any help from anyone else (finally)? Or will she lose Kazuma to Katherine?

Summary

The episode begins with Metatron, Katherine’s Spirit Beast, chasing some random evil spirit on the public streets with everyone as the full audience. Kirika the police inspector asks for Kazuma’s help, but they see Katherine threatening a waiter in a nearby café and with only a few words, Kazuma antagonizes Katherine enough for her to challenge him to a duel.

Of course, Kazuma easily slashes Katherine’s Metatron into fiery bits with his wind, and Katherine is taken aback. She demands to know who Kazuma is, and Kazuma tells her her weakness, which is that she relies on Metatron too much, and hence expect to take every opponent out in a single hit. Katherine asks his relationship with Ayano, but Kazuma simply say that they are business partners and he is working for whoever hires him. Seeing his ability and his astuteness, Katherine hires him to be her coach, and Kazuma accepts.

oh god briar, i was waiting for your blog, congrats for your new job,
well i have this feeling that kazuma DO care for Ayano, but he won’t show it until the end, although he behave as a jerk, but deep inside he cares for others and their safety, and in the end as i said the real kazuma will be revealed. kyaaaaaa he is sooooooooo cute, i am an addict to this anime now
cant wait to see what will happen the next episode.
