Nanatsuiro Drops 2: Why are you crying?

Hold still puny sheep creature, the anal probing has not been completed.

Well while waiting for School Days 2, curiosity got the better of me yet again, despite the fact that Moe-tan is thus far the superior mahou shoujo series. At any rate last we say Yuki-chan was getting awfully comfy in Akihime’s bed.

Yuki-chan awakes with a strange hankering for pancakes until it ever so slowly dawns upon him that this is not his room and that it is Akihime’s bed and not his. If there was ever proof positive that Yuki-chan never played metal gear or Splinter Cell this is it. He is as subtle as a deer is when faced with head lights. Fortunately for Yuki-chan Akihime awakens only to fall back asleep after being told that it’s all a dream…

Objective: Escape form Akihime’s Room. ! Assignment Failed.

So Yuki-chan escapes from Akihime’s room and goes to class. His classmates are most surprised that he has joined the gardening club. Nako-chan and Akihime arrive and no sooner do they walk through the door Yuki-chan starts leering at Akihime wondering why she acts to differently and un-genki at school.

Yuki-chan walks off and soon transforms yet again into a stuffed animal so he can snake back into Akihime’s room. However he does glean how precisely the transformation works and more importantly when it occurs. Yuk-chan steals into Akihime’s room just as she is changing into some clothes that her mom sent her. Being the pervert that he is he steals and is over awed by what he sees.

Hey there Yuki-chan. Poof. Uh…We are all for alternate lifestyles, but this is ridiculous.

Akihime spots the Peeping Tom and subjects Yuki-chan to humiliation by a thousand out fits. In the middle of the fashion show the ring goes off and its now time to get the Stardrop. Unfortunately Akihime is still green as ever and Nako-chan sees the whole thing. While ultimately completing the mission Nako-chan brings them to her home so Akihime can get cleaned up. As in his human form Yuki-chan is no Solid Snake or Sam Fisher, and Nako spots him moving. Nako-chan learns about everything and sends Akihime home.

Yuki-chan tells Akihime that Nako-chan’s memory of today must be erased. Akihime is most distressed upon learning this since she wants Nako-chan to remember doing her laundry. We then get treated to a montage of Nako-chan x Akihime loli-yuri movements. The next day nary a word is exchanged between them and Nako-chan asks Yuki-chan to escort Akihime home. It starts to rain on the way there and Akihime desperately tries to grow a few inches to place an umbrella over their heads. I fell asleep around here and assume that Yuki-chan was able to comfort Akihime. He takes off and discovers a way to preserve Nako-chan’s memories. Later that night Nako-chan and Akihime hold hands lean in and…fail to kiss.

However Nako-chan is now a trusted ally of Akihime, what challenges will they face next?

Sumomo do you remember who your promised girl is. Yep. Chuu~ (hey I can dream right?)

Impression: It is a step up from the last episode, and hopefully Nako-chan is going to play more of a role. Surprisingly Yuki-chan’s epic fails in the realm of tactical stealth makes him some what more likable in that lovable runt sort of way. Hopefully he will excise his emo state. Akihime did not cry as much this time and seems very happy to receive her maho shoujo outfit. I must say it isn’t that hideous and is passable despite the lack of Kevlar and ceramic armor.

I like how this time the emphasis was on the relationship between Akihime and Nako-chan with Yuki-chan kicked to the periphery. Hopefully their relationship will grow and next time Nako-chan and Akihime will kiss for real.

    Lol. They cry because they’re emo!

    I am more or less trying to stay away from Nanatsuiro cuz a lot of people say it’s epic phail.

    Maybe I’ll give it a shot, seeing how you say that it’s getting better.

    Compared to series like Code-E, Moetan and School Days that are somewhere at the bottom of the pit of boring failures… I actually enjoy this.

    …or maybe because I’m a girl, and this series is aimed at 10 yr old girls (and thus makes me feel incredibly nostagic), instead of the usual lolicons.

    @Kyokii
    It’s getting better, but any reduction of crying is always a plus, not much of a plus though…

    @Mintrubber
    Hey School Days is about nurturing hatred for the doormat and sadistic glee at his evenual demise. Moe-tan is a joke about magical girls by the same guy who directs Hayate no Gotoku, not much of a serious magical girls show IMHO.

    Still I am most definitely not he target audience for this series, but it passes the time. I am just hoping to Nako-chan to crush Yuki-chan, but I know its not going to happen.
