I personally thought that the Grimmjow release form was pretty awesome… but that might have been my liking for cats, and the fact that I’m a chick, and I think that most anything to do with Mr. Jabberjack is pure sex in a bottle. In reality, it was kindof a silly move, but the fanbase that it’s bound to draw is the main reason why it was done. Case in point – I spent a few hours afterwards squealing to myself because Grimmjow was a kitty. It was something that I wasn’t expecting.

I’ll admit that the Bleach series annoys the shit out of me sometimes – like those lovely fillers where jack shit actually happens.

For ezample – The pansy fag that had to go and change his clothes before he could continue to fight Renji and Ureyu. It seriously pissed me off. Same with the ENTIRE thing with the Bounts. Seriously – was it needed? Reishi sucking vampires was taking it a bit too far…

On the subject of Naruto however, I can definetly say that the only times I’ve ever really been dissapointed were when they decided to drag a battle out to ten or so episodes. It’s dissapointing to wait a whole week and then see that crap. Like the Battle between that old Hokage dude and orochimaru. I wanted to never watch it again after that, but it sucked at my soul until I gave in and sat my ass down again.

And don’t even get me started on One Peice. I could write better narrative in a drunken sleep. That, and all the art looks like it’s done by a 12 year old stoner hopped up on a couple energy drinks…

The whole strategy/tactic thing is what makes Hunter X Hunter one of the greatest shounen manga ever, and why Naruto at its prime was such an excellent series. The problem is these kind of things are hard to plan and execute, but they’re all the more precious because of that.

Yeah, I do like legitimate Naruto battles when they happen. They manage to seem entertaining even in the face of Shonen Jump Lets-Drag-This-Fucker-Out conventions. And Hao sums it up well, too. Any action manga that values strategy over macho power bullshit deserves a lot of credit.

I do resent Kishimoto for not actually killing Sasuke, though. I got so freaking excited when I saw his pretty little face begin to dissolve. ):

John: Funny you should say bias, when reviews are opinions.

Anyway, I review Bleach because despite all my griping, complaining and whining, I like it. What I love might be the Bleach from 100 chapters ago, but I still like it now. At least it hasn’t fallen to School Rumble level of appalling badness.

Just because I hate the way Grimmjaw looks doesn’t mean I hate Bleach.

most people out there agree that bleach has become way too obsessed with increasing power levels and transformations/costume changes, a la dragon ball z. just because the author doesn’t worship the manga like you seem to doesn’t mean he’s wrong. not that naruto is all that much different, but at least the characters have some variety in their abilities.

Deidara is alot stronger than expected ^_^ This is why Naruto is so much more entertaining to read than stuff like Dragon Ball Z. It’s not about absolute power levels but matching of techniques. I hope Sasuke is finally going to unleash “that” technique to save his butt in next chapter.
