I do apologize for not having a full feature on this episode due to the fact that several personal issues have caused me a lack of time to write a full episodic review of this (don’t worry, they are really good things that I will reveal soon enough). Nevertheless, Bokurano Episode 9 brings about a completely different feeling compared to the previous episodes.
We saw carnage, we saw revenge, we saw lust and we saw the misguided pride of a kid through the eyes of the children that had vanquished with their life force being sucked dry by Zearth. Being the pilot is a dreadful thing, and the next pilot is Daiichi. I will be resuming summaries next episode (hopefully) but for now, whatever after “read more” will be spoilers.
Daichii’s strong and noble behavior to protect his beliefs as well as his younger siblings is very admirable. Compared to the previous kids who are more fixated on their youthful anger, Daiichi is far more mature than his years. From the start where he strongly held on and stayed independent from his kind uncle to wait for his father to return home, to the end when he fought to protect the amusement park, it was a very beautiful scene played by Daiichi.
If you ask me, I really enjoyed the shift of momentum to a somewhat calm scenario. I really enjoy the calm demeanor of Daiichi. Many instances showed his mature character, particularly the one when he told everyone not to fetch him back and that he would return after he was done with all the things he had to do. I feel that rather than being silly, he is very honorable for trying to keep his younger siblings in check despite the disappearance of his father. Somehow, I do wonder if the occurrences of Zearth had happened before, but it seemed unlikely. Hence, the possibility that his dad is somewhat involved in the same situation will be rather low.
I also found quite a bit of irony in which the words that Daiichi when he said his final goodbye to his siblings was the same as what his father used as an excuse. It is somewhat sad that he wanted his body never to be seen by his siblings, since in a way, it felt like his siblings would continue to wait for a person that will no longer be there. I am somewhat torn between whether it is actually a wise or silly decision, but it felt logical for a child like him to think of that.
I mean, which elder brother wants to leave their siblings with merely a corpse of him after he is killed after his life force has been sucked dry after battling hard. I felt that the legacy he had kept, the miracle in which the amusement park is not destroyed, is evidence that he protected the heart of his family even when he has resigned to the fate of death. I felt that it is a powerful testimony of his belief in protecting whatever is necessary.
He is not a hero that simply wants attention. He is not that grand and he admitted that he cannot really fathom the thought about protecting the whole world. However, he is a hero of his family, protecting the precious little things that his siblings can enjoy. To me, that is the greatest hero that is ever possible: to be able to protect the precious things that mattered to you.
He is a hero.

You know, in the end,if Daiichi’s uncle didn’t believe his leaving pretext, it will be more nature and realistic.

So one good boy is already gone, another good girl will follow him soon.. :((
@Pony Mark: I believe that it is realistic because it is somewhat of a belief that Daiichi will be back. I mean, he probably thought that Daichii forgot something, but nevertheless, I felt that the scene then was a really beautiful scene of family ties.
@Kresnik: ya, it seems as so. The 10th episode is out already, and I think i have more time to blog on it for sure ^+^
