Turns on fanboyish mode ^+^. No problem with the summary, I am glad that it’s helpful. I am very sure that it will be a sweet scene, since the two are my favorite couple in Saiunkoku Monogatari.

@Sibelle: Yep, Seiran knew that he will not be able to be objective and will do things that will make Shuurei regret of sorts. If remembered, Seiran probably knew that if things does come to an end with Shuurei eventually required to end her life to save the people, Seiran will be unable to do it at all.

With that in mind, he is somewhat entrusting his faith to Ensei, to do the thing necessarily as he is a person that Seiran can trust in terms of maturity, thought and mind. Ensei = win.

And to addd, Eigetsu x Kourin is such pure love that it’s good. Her tsun tsun moments are always the best too

Now, I know for a fact that Shuurei won’t be killed by any of the GOOD guys. It’s just too… unrealistic!!! Plus, don’t forget that if something happened to Shuurei, the men of the Kou clan will cry “revenge!” for sure…

I’m perplexed though… about the Doushu looking-like-guy -_- It can’t be the real Doushu, right?!

@Angie: Yep, in a way, plot device dictates that Shuurei really cannot be killed as yet, not with a show that is so centralized on what she is doing. Nevertheless, the good character development of the characters meant that you do feel for the character, even though at the back of your head, you know it’s impossible that they will get killed.

@Dara-sama: He is, desho? I am like totally lost because the first time he appeared in front of Eigetsu last week, it seems like he is definitely not Kashin at all. However, in this episode, he actually calls Eigetsu and calls him his child who is still so cute and kind. I am so perplexed by the change of character that I wonder: who the hell is this guy?

My guess is that he is perhaps the shell of some spirit that has taken over Kashin’s looks but is definitely not the benefactor. I cannot believe that the kind man will ever torture Eigetsu.

@D.J: nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo~ She is useless anyway, a baka wifey as usual That said, I cannot wait to see how the boxset is like. Excited!

I kind of have proof that Sa Sakujun is alive and will appear in this 2nd season because if you look at the cast of “Second Season Saiunkoku Monogatari, Sa Sakujun is within that list and beside that name within brackets is the name Lin Senya…so for all of Sakujun’s fans (ME!!!!) cross your fingers! ^^

@Sunny: I just have a strange feeling that Seiran will come back to the full plot very soon, after this arc because there is somewhat of a missing plot hole in which he has to take care of Riou. If you ask me, Seiran’s next plan is definitely to deal with the impending threat of Riou. He should know quite well.

@Lily: hmmmm, really? I think it might just be trying to confuse the audience but who knows, it might be right. I do wish for Sakujun to make a return, simply because I like his character, the part villain, part love-fool notion. It makes the character far more complex than needed.

Hey! Im finally back!
This episode was heavy (emotionally)!
Several things freaked me out, inc. the Kashin being the head of the cult (i know it really was last epi but it kinda just hit me), Kourin being kidnapped, Seiran being left in the capital and him giving the sword to Ensei (well not really freaked but more surprised as to the explanation the others are giving).
I totally agree with you Impz that it seems that Kashin’s body has been taken over by some evil spirit, potentially as a side effect of Yougetsu extending his life maybe? Some kind of payback, or just because he was weak and some evil spirit took that opportunity.
On the sword matter, I thing Seiran was just trying to show Ensei that he trusts him to protect Shurrei in his stead but dont think he even considered the need to sacrifice her. It will be unthinkable, right>? I also found it very funny when Shurrei said that Seiran would probably switch her out and run away with her…lol that shot was so cute!!!
I hope we get to see more of Seiran and Ryuuki, really starting to miss them now. Im finding it rather hard to keep up with all the characters now, and i learned to expect the unexpected now. Who will save the day?

PS - Really, we can live without those unruly, selfish soldiers - it seems that one of them maybe from the cult!

The moment Shuurei asked Ensei to kill her, I kinda figured out the reason why she didn’t choose Seiran. I just noticed that Saiunkoku loves to cut the screentime of the characters that are closest to Shuurei haha I mean Seiran and Ryuuki are thrown to the sides now and to think that they’re always beside Shuurei in the OP and ED themes.

Another thing that’s painful to watch (besides the suggestion of burning the infected people) is the fact that those doctors are going to perform surgery without anaesthesia and antiseptics. LOL I know the story is from ancient times, but the neatness of the external sewing is the last thing they have to worry about X.X Oh, the pain.

I think I did see a picture from the novel(?) of Kourin and Eigetsu that describes this >] I was confused when I first saw it, but now it all makes sense.

I still wish the series picks up in the next episode though. -_- I mean, it’s interesting so far, but there’s seem to be something missing. Oh right, the appearance of Riou and that cult. Yeah, that’s it.

@Ricaryx: WAIT, WHAT? Oh my gosh, you reminded me of such an important point that I cleanly forgot. They do not have any freaking form of antiseptic? I believe they should have it and I really think that cutting someone up live this way will probably hurt the person so much that it will kill the person from pain.

@D.J: She’s a baka wifey!!!! I don’t care! That said, Ryuuki seems to be left alone once again. Sigh, it seems that both ryuuki and Seiran are side characters now, with little to no appearance at all. So sad

@Kuri: you know, I think alcohol will be the eventual antiseptic since it does work on both ways. I never really thought of such a primitive (and actually historically used) antiseptic until you mentioned it. It is really smart, wow.
