Only just manage to catch up with SaiMono yesterday after my 3 weeks of anime-less days. But I've got to admit, SaiMono is growing more and more out of the typical shoujo anime into something that is almost epic in nature. I like the fact that they don't focus on just the romance anymore.

Still, I totally love the garden scene with Shuurei and Ryuuki. Ryuuki is sooooooooooooooooooooo cute! :D

Does another, however, get the feeling that Ryuuki is getting overshadowed by Shuurei? Shuurei is the main character, of course, but I like my supporting characters to be strong and detailed as well. Ryuuki is cute, but we haven't been seeing his capability for some episodes now. I want to get the feeling that he's a great king, a capable one, not just a figure head. We see scenes with him with his scrolls, but as yet we don't get a concrete feel of his work, which makes him seem less whole than Shuurei (whose every detail of her life is revealed).

@Sibelle: hahha @_@

@Kuri: Ya, for some reason, I laughed my self silly, especially with the scene between Ryuuki and Shuurei, as well as Reishin and Shuurei. Any scene with Reishin is bound to have some good laughs, and we are definitely not denied of the chance, when he went like all sparkling bishie mode.

To me, the best part of the garden scene is the best as you stated.

Shuurei: I will cook some vegetable dish for you when you get back

Ryuuki: Play the er hu for me?

Shuurei: yes, yes.

Ryuuki: Have a walk with me in the garden?

Shuurei: yes, yes.

Ryuuki: Marry me?

Shuurei: no way.

Ryuuki: cheh.

Best scene ever. I repeated that scene more than 15 times already. And yes, he did say that he supported the engineering of mikan just for her and Reishin said that he will give Shuurei anything if it's attainable, but Shuurei often wants things to do with politics and officialdom. Ensei's master is definitely on their side, considering that he is the one who rescued Youshun and ermm forcefully brought him out of the cell. Ermm, ya.

@Sakujun: yess!! I thought I am the only one who noticed it when he escaped so fast. Kouyuu was funny though. He was totally lost at the fact that Reishin escaped without him and panicked as usual.

@Bella: Hahah, I hope that it is helpful and if you are unclear about any part of the summary, just don't hesitate to ask. I might answer slow, but certain, I will answer ^^

@Chebi: hmm, Ryuuki will probably be out of the picture. And sorry, we do not entertain download requests :P

Did everyone catch the "vroom" sound effect as Reishin took off outside Shurrei's room? Hilarious! I didn't hear it the first time I watched because I was laughing so hard at his Olympic leap out the window. That man has amazing agility for someone in a dress!

oh forgot something...sorry!
You know how Seiran said that he can trust Ensei because only he and ensei's teacher/master can beat him, i wonder if something might happen there...Ensei's master (if not dead) might become hin enemy? lol just a thought!
To Ryuuki: Good things come to those who wait!..perseverance is the Key!

I finally watched this ep! It was a cracker!! in more than one way.
I found myself laughing out loud watching this. It is by no means a simple and funny episode like the ones in season 1 but i think it was the most straight forward and least complicated one for a long time. After all the tactics, scheming and worries (about Riou) this episode was a great relief! At some moments during the meeting with the officials i had the urge to bash some of those thick skulls in! Ryuuki was so man there! Kust proves that Shou made the right decision...and he knew it!
I felt really bad for Ryuuki, he knows fully well that she will and has to go but there is the "man in love" part of him that doesnt want to let her go and just wants to protect her (seen by his decision of sending in the elites).
Loved the Garden scene, missed it loads since episode 39. He was trying to pull a fast one on Shuurei with the "cook for me, go on walks with me, play the erhu, marry me"...was so funny! And the "i might jump on you" (or more or less the same meaning) then he retracted to "wont let u go"..and shurrei's response of "its too late to act cool".

Rishin got another appearance!!! Missed him loads, Shurrei so cute when she was young, and u can also see very clearly how fast Rishin changes from smitten uncle to stern "father". Did he say that he supported the "engineering" of mikan just for her? lol. Was so funny when he said to Kouyuu that he was too old when he was picked up by him so not cute anymore.

I felt really bad for Ryuuki, he knows fully well that she will and has to go but there is the “man in love” part of him that doesnt want to let her go and just wants to protect her (seen by his decision of sending in the elites).
Loved the Garden scene, missed it loads since episode 39. He was trying to pull a fast one on Shuurei with the “cook for me, go on walks with me, play the erhu, marry me”…was so funny! And the “i might jump on you” (or more or less the same meaning) then he retracted to “wont let u go”..and shurrei’s response of “its too late to act cool”.

Rishin got another appearance!!! Missed him loads, Shurrei so cute when she was young, and u can also see very clearly how fast Rishin changes from smitten uncle to stern “father”. Did he say that he supported the “engineering” of mikan just for her? lol. Was so funny when he said to Kouyuu that he was too old when he was picked up by him so not cute anymore.

@Blueskyheaven: Hmm, that is in fact my question because I somehow have difficulties to figure out how Riou will actually slot into the current story. It has almost absolutely nothing to do with him, and his story has really nothing to do with the epidermic. I highly doubt so that he has any connection with the cult too, or will he?

@Wifey: Oh shush, you bishie-loving wifey of mine. I believe that the garden seems to be a place of utopia, where the two of them shed all pretense of government official rank and emperor, and simply meet each other as equals and as common people who yearn for love.

It's a sweet place, where Ryuuki's lonely heart can finally be soothed by the thick-skulled Shuurei~

@Sakujunsghost: No problem with the summary, I am just glad that it's helpful for most.

I do not think that the officials supported her plans, more like they are brought down by her arguments. I highly doubt that they really supported her ever, but I do not see them trying to do any interference, not with Ryuuki giving his full support.

I do not know though, but Ryuuki's decision, as stated earlier is a harsher but more effective form of propaganda that people who speak of rumors will be dealt with forcefully by the army. I do not think that it is wrong, as it will have a "Kill one, scare one hundred" (chinese proverb) effect. Despite the loss that might come from the usage of the army, I believe it can promise a huge deterrence to all who wants to try it again.

He does like his vegetables too, good boy. I think that Ryuuki is somewhat angry too, since Shuurei does not understand the sentiments of men who loved her, which is quite sad because it is so fricking true. Still, Shuurei's heart is somewhat attracted to Ryuuki as she is getting close this time, rather than Ryuuki doing it. Ho ho ho, is love blossoming?

No, i must stay devoted to Seiran x Shuurei. Go, sister-brotherly love!!

Thanks again for the great summary. I loved this episode! Shuurei heading back to Sa means we're not going to see some of our favorite characters for awhile, so it was great that everyone got at least a few minutes on screen.

One question: after Shuurei finishes talking to the officials, are they supporting her plan or just resigned to it because Ryuuki supports her? I just wonder if these guys will try to interfere with her on the way back to Sa.

I guess the use of the army could be seen in two ways. I get your point about showing the emperor's command of the situation, but also, it's like Yuushun said previously, if Shuurei can't win the confidence of her people, she's not governor of anything. The only people needing squashing are the Jasenkyou, not the average frightened villager, grasping for hope, and use of the military might just be overkill, so to speak. I can just picture the image of a military force riding into a village decimated by disease to punish them for being frightened. It will be interesting to see how Shuurei will deal with the Jasenkyou. Is she recklessly running into the jaws of danger again? (Of course!)

Take heart--eventually, your wifey's bishie-loving will have to be expressed, and if you happen to be handy at the time...it could work out in your favor!

Ryuuki is an incredibly, strangely patient man. All I can figure is that he must really, really like Shuurei's manjuu buns. ;) I thought it was kind of interesting that the first time Ryuuki shows his annoyance with Shuurei, and doesn't do the pursuing, she goes to him. Hmmmmmmmm.....

Next week's episode looks like all the tension building up over the last few episodes is going to break into action! I can't wait! Now that Shuurei has established herself as the godmother of modern medicine, can we assume from the preview that Ensei is the godfather of downhill skiing?

Awesome job--thanks a million!
