Am I the only person who can peacefully watch Barsa lie on the ground and do nothing? It's hypnotic. She's hypnotic. If she ever sold hamburgers or something I'd buy the whole damn truck. Barsa-sama!

hahahaha, she is just fricking in her own world to be honest, and now that you talk about the rationale, it sounds rational. Yes, it probably fits the slightly loony and ridiculous mannerisms of Torogai to be honest.

I do wonder how Torogai is that famous in the palace considering how she is in fact rather reclusive and in fact a traveler. She must be really powerful, even though it is evident from the fight between the assassins and her where she displayed agility and magical abilities that does not fit her supposedly short and weak body.

The reason why Torogai chants 'tamago, tamago' while she's in the cottage is because that is the sole word she caught from the waterspirit and she realized that the they (the waterspirits) laid an egg in the human world and was wondering where it was. :) That's also why she shouted 'tamagoooo!' as she finally noticed Chagum. :)

hmm, ya, if it is the stepfather's name, then it's possibly that one of them who fought will be her stepfather. I do wonder whether it is the victor or loser though.

However, that will explain her ability with the spear.

@Briar: Hah, I think that the Seidoushi simply believes that the killing of Chagum will relieve that drought and he refuses to admit that it might be different from what he expected. I do agree that the Seidoushi will have a huge problem to succeed, due to pride taking over his decisions way too much. It's perhaps a crisis of sorts, and he's refusing to get help from others who might be more knowledgeable than him. A low wisdom count, if you ask me.

I don't know. For some reason, they feel more like brother-sister, rather than any romantic feelings. Barsa clearly exhibits zero emotions toward Tonda rather than having strong romantic relationships. If they are going to be together, they would have a long time ago, in my humble opinion.

I wonder what possesses Torogai to go "egg, egg, egg" all the way! I actually wonder who the person who Barsa called out is, since it seems like a history of hers that is waiting to be revealed. Oh well ^_^

I think the issue of the water spirit in Chagum has a lot to do with the drought that has been mentioned by the Seidoushi, Shuga, and I think Torogai. Or either of them. They will try to prevent the drought, but Seidoushi will not include the water spirit in Chagum in his plans, which I think will probably be his downfall, as the water spirit is probably the key to the whole business.

I do not agree with Impz regarding Tonda and Barsa!!!! There is more than a little romantic interest between them!!!!! +_+ Frankly, the age of Barsa and Tonya IS old enough to be Chagum's aunt and uncle, so calling Barsa Obaa-san is only logical. Also, when Tonda first found Barsa, he goes something like "I've waited 2 years to see you again, so don't die on me" (paraphrasing).

I think the relationship is a lot more easy between them because they have known each other for 20 years. Theirs is a friendship as much as anything else, but it doesn't mean that friendship will preclude romance, right? Although to be honest, I get the vibe that Tonda is interested by Barsa isn't. Or maybe I'm just reading too much into it.

I agree with regards to Torogai; she's really, really amusing. Especially the part when she came into Tonda's house, goes straight to the pot, eats, all the while chanting "Egg" and ignoring the other people who are frozen in very comical statues... I think Toya has his chopsticks around an egg that is halfway to his mouth... for the entire time Torogai is eating and chanting. :P Very funny.
