No problem DJ, I was actually spoiled already by someone else on an IRC channel when we were talking about getting the novels, but I had managed to forget it until you reminded me.

And thanks, it's comments like yours that fuel the blogging lobe in my brain =D

@Lupus, thank you! And once again I'm really sorry I spoiled it for you, but I just realized your reply to my post probably needs editing too!

On another note I managed to catch the first episode of Darker than Black and I have to say I really can't wait to see more of it.

If you don't like something you just don't like something. If everybody liked the same thing everybody else did then life would be boring.

I would rather read somebody's honest opinion whether I agreed with it or not rather than an opinion based on the mindless masses. So Lupus, keep up the good work! ^-^

D.J.: I've edited it.

Mikemi: ouch, that hurts. Except I don't see how I was being emo and I'm bashing not so much the show, but Kyoto Animation. If I was crying about "OMG KYOANI YOU DON'T LOVE ME ANYMORE /wrist" then I guess I would be emo.

OMG KYOANI YOU DON'T LOVE ME ANYMORE /wrist

DKellis: I hyped it for myself, based on Fumoffu and Azumanga Daioh.

Diedrupo: So the show has no universal appeal. Then it's easy (and I believe, perfectly valid) to say that's it's worse than shows that have universal appeal isn't it? If it's shallow to dislike something that you don't understand, and thus don't find funny, I guess that makes everyone who don't understand the in-jokes I share with my friends, and that includes you, shallow.

Disliking this show is more shallow than enjoying it. This isn't about moe, it's about cute gags and situations that only a Japanese person would understand. It's too bad a foreigner tried to like the show but failed.

I never understand why there is the claim that Lucky Star is "hyped". KyoAni released the series announcement and a one-minute (or fourteen-second) trailer of muuUUUuuUUuuu. I don't think that really counts as "hype"... and blaming the studio for the fans is more than a bit unfair, I think.

Besides, the show is already being animated and shown. It's a bit late to start complaining, I think.

I beginning to wonder if the emoness in certain animes are taking it's toll on anime bloggers. Now it seem they think it fine to put on their best emo face contortion and spit incoherently at any show that is cool to bash on.

@Lupus, that's why I like FMP so much, its one of those few shows where they manage to mix both humour and action and do both really well.

Ack sorry about Arbalest, is there any way to edit my post so newcomers aren't spoiled?

Mitsuki Hayase: Actually, to me, Lucky Star is quite hyped, based on the track record of KyoAni and their wonderful work on Fumoffu. I often make judgements based on one or two episodes of anime because that's all the time I have for them - in a season with many other outstanding works, I don't think I'll bother with an anime that doesn't grab my interest early. I'm not saying the whole series will suck, but the first episode is terribly unfunny and I'm not having much hope for the rest of the series.

As for one post of infamy, I've written many, many flame inducing posts =P

Fuuka: I wouldn't say this is a waste of resource - it's clear that KyoAni isn't spending as much money on this show as Kanon or Haruhi. But I think (so far) KyoAni's talent isn't pulling its weight, and I'm terribly disappointed in their picking of a show so clearly targeted at otakus, its entire appeal based on moe and Izumi's otaku-thinking. Hell the OP is even called Serafuku.

I'm not worried about the 4koma transition very much, because of Azumanga's extremely successful precedent. And you can tell that Lucky Star takes a leaf out of Azumanga's book, with its pacing and frequent eye-catches.

I actually really liked the first episode of Romeo x Juliet. The reason I rated it so lowly (even though I consider 3/5 to be quite good) is because I believe it's a perfectly competent story in its own right, and the Shakespeare references are completely unwarranted and unnecessary. All it does is generate hype and that's a retarded reason to tread on great literature.

ZeusIrae: The OP is catchy, that's all. Not a particularly great song. The animation sequence is nice, but it stinks too much of "let's ride on Hare Hare Yukai's success!", though there isn't exactly anything wrong with that.

arcanes: I did expect a lot from Lucky Star, considering it's made by Kyoto Animation (which did the superbly hilarious Fumoffu) and, because of its 4koma origin, I was hoping for another Azumanga Daioh.

On the point about judging shows early... it's my habit. I don't watch very many shows until the end, so unless it really grabs my attention at the start, I'll drop it quickly. I'll also drop a show halfway through if its promise doesn't become fulfilled.

MarsBattyAngel=^-^=: I didn't find the first Haruhi episode to be bad. I didn't find it outstanding, either, but definitely not bad.

Briar: Haha yeah, I want to know whether Touka is guy or a girl! The primary reason why I'll keep watching this heh.

As for Darker than BLACK, I'm not good at blogging anime, so I most probably wouldn't be doing it. I don't know if any of the other bloggers will pick it up - bug them enough and they just might!

D.J.: Full Metal Panic is just so well done, both on the high school side and the military side, largely thanks to Sousuke and Chidori. I really want to see more, especially since there is so much source material already sitting around waiting to be animated.

DKellis: I'm your anti-thesis.

Alkan: Oh no don't you DARE give them any funny ideas.

iwubanime: I love gag shows, and comedy in general. Which is why this season is kind of disappointing for me, since none of the gag shows have grabbed my interest. But Hayate seems to be on the rise, so that's good, and Nodame and Lovely Complex will provide the slice-of-life comedy that I so badly crave.

@Fuuka: Arrr, Fuuka, you will have some luck to actualyl find an english sub considering how reputable fansubs generally do not touch pre-licensed stuff. It will be a gasp in the air if anything.

@Iwubanime: Your comment somehow went into the evil depths of spam karma for some queer reason. That said, lucky star was decent for me as stated above in my long comment but I am not sure how it will hold. Lovely complex fulfills the laugh + shoujo factor for me, that is....Hmmm.

:D My list for spring season now will include Darker than Black and Bokurano :">
I'm still waiting (not so patiently)for Seirei no Moribito to be subbed. It's got a lot of difficult words T_T.
Yay for FMP the 3rd raid or something like that :D. I know many people want it so hopefully the people in KyoAni will realize this truth sooner.

well putting aside the fact that FMP (and all shows that have souske in it) is my favorite series...

i can say that Lucky Star didn't really interest me, i'm not really one for gag series (or random shows [2x2, excel saga etc]) and this is why Nagasarete and Hayate have me a little worried (although Hayate in particular has been pretty good)

but just being by Kyoani isn't enough to make me watch a show; and cute things doesn't really attract me (on that basis alone), so that leaves the comedy; which aside from people have said that Lucky Star (anime)'s comedy hasn't been great, it STILL doesn't make me go... OMG I WANT

i'm sticking with gurren laggan, kamichama karin, claymore and hayate for now (plus some others but those are my favs so far) and there are still some other shows i want to watch

aka... lucky star... not so lucky for me :P
