He can't be making that speech everytime he enters a room with his people, right? I thought Shinigami becomes Shinigami by entering a school and go through tests and exams like everyone else. At least that was what Renji and Rukia did. They should have just did what Ikkaku did and skip the entire thing. On the other hand, I wasn't as bored as I thought I would be for this episode... I was expected something like the last flashback episode which I can't remember anything about except the feeling that it was boring. In actual fact, thish episode was actually pretty interesting. Plot holes, yes, but at least it shows a side of Ikkaku (and Yumichika, who not being on screen all that much, nonetheless shows his relationship with Ikkaku just by being there) that is still quite well done.
