T.H.A.T Anime Blog shifting to dedicated server

In Lieu of the recent down times of T.H.A.T Anime Blog, I have finally discussed the problem with Maestro and has decided to move T.H.A.T Anime Blog to a dedicated server. By the time you see this message, it means that the blog has moved over to a spanking new hosting area and can feel your love once again!

What are the benefits of shifting? I’ll let Maestro take over for a bit:

AB’s dedicated server is faster, has less users on it and won’t suffer from downtime because of Dreamhost. (For example, during the recent power outage Random Curiosity never went down because that blog is hosted on the dedicated server.)

Now, as to what you, and your users, can expect to happen during the move:

• The site will be completely inaccessible for some period of time during the transition. If you, or your users, get an error about not being able to find the site, don’t panic! this is expected during part of the move. This will hopefully not occur for more than a few hours.
• Some people will continue to get the old DNS info for up to 48 hours depending on how their ISP has their DNS servers configured.
• The new site will load with the same hostname as the current one: http://that.animeblogger.net/, only the server the hostname points to will change.
• There’s no good way to disable comments on all posts at once, so please don’t comment until you can see a post about the move being finished successfully. Any comments made prior to that may be lost.
• The post about the move being finished successfully will also tell you if you’re getting the new DNS info as it will only be made on the new server after the move is completed.
• All user accounts will transfer along with the blog, so those who have logins now will be able to login with the same info on the new server.

On a different issue, I have heard from various people that they have problems with commenting sometimes, due to Spam Karma being a total pain in the *censored*. I realized that it can be changed by subscribing to T.H.A.T Anime Blog. If you want to be a subscriber, send me the following details to thatblog@gmail.com
