Just one blood filled picture to represent what has happened…
Red Garden is getting more disturbing and is turning out to be one of the best Gonzo works that I have seen.
Note: Since Shinsen should be out with the English subs very soon, it’s just a brief summary
Story gist

The younger policeman found out about Lise from his dead compatriot, as he dialed up Kate. He wanted to know everything but he was eliminated when he found Lise that had blood all over her. It seemed that Lise had killed several people that tried to bring her back before she was eventually held. Rose was there to see her father work but it seemed that she was a little sick. Rachel’s boyfriend was reminiscing the old times with Rachel and wanted to get back with her. Even though Rachel wanted to do just that, she was torn of herself as an animus and rejected it. Claire visited her brother only to have a quarrel with her father once again, since he only arrived when everything was over. She had not forgiven her over his acts when he abandoned her mother (his wife) when she was dying.
Inside the ward, we saw that Claire’s brother is starting to study, as it seems that her father had made plans for teachers to teach her brother on the art of business. Claire dismissed it as just another act but her brother said that their father really cared. We also saw Paula trying to encourage Kate as she was feeling completely down, telling her that she knew everything that happened to her. That was why Paula protected her all the time, since she was helpless to do anything at all. Rose had also fallen sick after waiting too long in the snow, as her father brought her back to rest. Back in the hotel, Emilio and Herve were discussing about plans when Kate called them, telling them that she was outside the medicine company. However, she was caught as Herve said that he had to save Kate from their clutches. Kate’s last look saw Lise on the other side…
Thoughts

Is it just me but did Red Garden suddenly hope into a very strong bandwagon of violence, blood and plot twists flying everywhere like fighting chickens and donkey ears? I am pleasantly surprised at the sudden growth of this series, especially when people already assumed that Gonzo tends to disappoint more than amaze. It’s really depressing that Red Garden is not getting the accolades that it deserves because the amount of plot and pacing is immaculate.
My only complain in this episode is that I dislike how Rachel handled her relationship with her boyfriend, or well her ex-boyfriend. Even though I know that she is an animus and she worries that she might eventually forget and hence hurt him, I still feel that there is a way that she can rely on him since he is genuine in staying with her. I understand why she rejected him because of the fear that she will one day not remember anything if they win, or die if they lose. Still, the hopeful side of me is still wishing for a better end that will never come.
I am also disappointed at the backlash of Claire toward her father, which I feel was a bit too mean on her part. I mean, her father is clearly trying to compensate for not being around, even though I have no idea why he left for overseas during the period when her brother required him most. It is perhaps due to work, and Claire has a little bit of an argument for it. It is not strong though and I hope that she can finally understand that her father is trying hard to earn her trust. She is mature, but yet willful at such things.
I laughed when I realize that they actually fall sick just like normal people, with Rose falling ill in the cold. I do find it an irony that they are just like normal people other than the fact that they have a body that will not crumble. Now that the cause of the curse is down to the fact that both sides owned a book. I wonder when the full launch of the attack will come, since both sides know exactly where the headquarters are. More accurately, Herve now knows where the enemy is, yet I do not understand why Herve is aiming to rescue Kate when she’s the enemy. I don’t get that part at all.
To talk about something good, I like how they moved the plot in which that Kate is actually caught by the enemy. I know that Herve and Emilio are going to save her, but I do wonder what the other girls will do or whether they will find out anything as well. Usually, I feel that when they go into the heart of the enemy, some truths might appear and I do wonder what will appear in front of me.
The next episode seems to be the rescuing of Kate and perhaps Lise.

OMG noooooooo. Kate! T_T
She’s my favorite girl of the bunch! I hope nothing bad happens to her. =(
And Oh man, I have so much catching up to do for RG lol.
Leon added these pithy words on Mar 06 07 at 7:56 amhmmm, ya, Kate was totally captured which is really like O_O;;; However, the body count is really increasing and leon, you really got to catch up for RG, it’s good stuff. ![]()
Yeah I’m progressing slowly but I hopefully will be up to date given this latest development. I hope both Kate and Lise end up being okay though.
Leon added these pithy words on Mar 06 07 at 8:23 amI am actually doing up my review for Red Garden Episode 20 and I am disturbed by it. I feel that Kate will definitely be fine since she will be rescued by the others plus the fact that she’s the moral support. I feel that Lise might not have a good end. If you ask me, I feel that she might …be the last antagonist.
Impz added these pithy words on Mar 06 07 at 8:45 amDamn, I felt like she’d have that kind of role ever since she was revived. =/
Leon added these pithy words on Mar 06 07 at 9:16 am@leon: Well, initally i didn’t but the fact that she lost it and started killing people started to give me that idea that she might indeed lose her mind, her sanity and eventually turn on others…
I wish lise will remain sane though ><
Impz added these pithy words on Mar 06 07 at 9:57 amSo I just watched 19 from Shinsen, and I have to say, there was one (and only one) OMFG?! moment for me.
“I love you. I’ve always loved you.”
And no, I’m not quoting Rook.
I need to go back and check (to make sure I wasn’t reading it wrong…or high) but I was internally screaming “YURI” for the whole episode, especially at the end “On that day when the feelings of two girls are revealed…”.
On a more serious note, I’m starting to wonder if Herve is mentally stable. At one part of ep 18, he started to “talk” to Anna at the hot dog shop. Another thing that’s been puzzling me is Herve’s and Lise’s past relationship and how everyone died. It’s obvious that he’s the boyfriend she told Kate about, but why would his clan single out Lise before the Animus even gave her a new body? Why was she sitting in a tub (augh…Ghost Hunt)? Why would he decide to stab Kate? And, why did Herve seem so surprised when he found out what school the girls when to?
I have tons more questions and very little to speculate on, but I fear I’m cluttering your comments. (Red Garden needs love.)
strangest added these pithy words on Mar 08 07 at 7:21 pm@Strangest: NO, YOU DIDN’T READ WRONGLY. Trust me on that. The context is that Paula is hot yuri (speculation) for Kate and even though I have no clue about how Kate feels for Paula, it is apparent that Paula protects her a bit too much compared to the normal close friend.
Herve is hardly stable mentally in the first place. I think that it’s obvious that he’s the boyfriend and he must have known a bit about Lise and that the animus has been targeting her. If you remember, Lise seems to be the target and the four other girls are just pretty plain unlucky.
I think that it is simply because he did not expect the enemy to be so close around them. I mean, will you ever think that your enemy’s headquarters is just so close, the one that you have been attempting to hunt down?
I also think that he stabbed Kate and the rest because he wanted to obviously silence them before they can say anything….
Hah, do not fear cluttering comments because I am always eager to reply and discuss.
REd garden does need love~
Impz added these pithy words on Mar 08 07 at 8:17 pmRed garden just keeps on getting better! I was literally disturbed when Lise started her killing spree by actually eating???? the enemies….well more like tearing them apart! =( And she KILLED that detective!! NOOO! He was good! And now i wonder who the next victim is??? I HOPE ITS NOT KATE!!!
Btw, besides Kate, when are the others going to activate their powers??? Or did i just missed that?? With that said, i have a bad feeling one of the four is going to die……………
Gee..that is so depressing….
Red Garden 20 i cant wait!
….well, she technically tore the enemy apart. If you are talking about powers that are activated, Rose has actively realize how to release her powers as well. I cannot remember what the episode is, but she did in order to save Rachel.
I have a feeling that they might all die in a very bittersweet ending, but that’s the sadist in me speaking rather than really the truth. I hope it’s not kate who is going to suffer the danger.
Wait, I on’t think Lise killed the detective. It was a gun shot from the people from the clan.
Impz added these pithy words on Mar 10 07 at 3:08 amoh yeah you are right…it is some guy from the clan..silly me but it was just Red Garden made her look terrifying and then BAM! He died so i actually thought she killed him lol….
God save those four girls!
Love Red Garden
OMG awesome episode… ![]()
I want to know how does Kate feels about Paula
Personally, I always thought that Kate and Herve has this twisted relationship because, if they had been anybody else or in a different setting, they would have been really compatible with each other. What I mean is that she genuinely liked him - which was later stated by her - and he did genuinely like her in return - which he kept saying he didn’t but considering the acts that he had done, I think he really cared for her (was in denial because he was also thinking of her as his enemy). I mean, that explains why they still ended up contacting each other. Kate calls Herve and he picked up, and when she was kidnapped he did panic and he did go and rescue her, as well as his sister. He didn’t have to tell Emilio that Kate was kidnapped, he could have just gone for his sister… The fact that he also told Kate about his cousin and his sister, it just shows that on some level he wanted her to understand him too. He kept trying to make him see him not as a villain, though he did not hide the fact that he did her wrong. And, of course, Kate hated him so easily in the end because she also liked him so much.
Hehe… I like this twisted pair. Kukuku…
