Ghost Hunt Ep 21 – “Bloodied-Urado…Bones…Blood…Banish.”

What did Madoka tell Mai in the end that causes her to blush so badly?
I like to mislead people. For most of this episode, the mood is hardly jovial. It is just bloody and I mean it in a very literal term. Bloody.
Episode summary

Naru told everyone that Urado cannot be exorcised since he did not have any grievances like a spirit but instead simply wanted to continue living. Those things were demons or ghosts, things that no one in the room could destroy at all. Mai questioned his integrity and said that he was running away and not saving the two assistants. Naru said that they had already died. Naru did add that Urado could not kill anyone outside the mansion and a good way would be to burn the house down.
The mission given by Madoka in fact was to debunk the fake Dr Davis going around that was tricking others. Naru said he had to trick everyone about the real purpose since someone in the group could not lie which was Mai. Naru ordered everyone to pack up as Masako did not want Mai to talk to her so kindly. Masako was jealous that Naru addressed Mai specially by Mai’s name, while Ayako and Masako were called by surname. Mai saw that Masako was jealous and explained that it was her silliness that caused Naru to call her and instead said that Masako had Naru’s weakness. Masako said that Naru had great pride and hence hated her for discovering his weakness, as she went out to the corridor to get some breath and told Mai not to follow.
She ended by saying that she still hated Masako. When Ayako came out, Mai remembered Naru’s warning about Urado wanting young people, only to find Masako missing. Naru and everyone gathered together as Naru questioned why Mai allowed Masako to move alone. As they spent half the day trying to find Masako in that empty space, nothing was found as Mai felt horrible for not being assertive enough. Ayako came over and told Mai to take a rest. As she slept, she woke up to see Dream Naru, as Naru told Mai where Masako was. As she followed his directions, Mai found Masako squatting in the same room (torture room) as Masako said that Naru also came with a very warm smile and told her not to worry.
Masako said that she might already be dead without knowing, but Mai told her not to say such things and passed her a key. It was the key of her former house and told her that it was not a dream, as long as she believed that she was not dead. Mai promised to save her. Mai woke up, telling everyone that Masako was still alive as they followed Mai’s directions according to the dream where she was dragged away. They eventually found a separate house. Naru realized that the height of the modified floor was to hide this place as Mai remembered more of the dream. She then rushed out to the second storey, slipping slightly on the wet surface of the table in the room with Masako.

As Masako addressed her, she said “blood” as Mai turned around, only to see blood everywhere on the table as well as the bathtub filled with blood.A body came out saying that he did not want to die. It was Urado as Mai tried to repel him with the chant taught by Bou-san. It seemed that he was repelled as they took the chance to escape, only for a force to hold Mai back. As she was held by the spirits of the servants, bloody footsteps appeared on the ground and the bloody body of Urado came face to face with Mai.
She screamed in fear as she tried to escape with no avail. Just when Urado was about to strike, Lin came in just in time to summon some form of spirit to scare off Urado. Naru ordered everyone to escape, as Bou-san kicked through the window. Bou-san scolded Mai for being reckless again but her recklessness allowed them to find the missing people. In an adjacent room, all the bones of the victims were displayed nicely, as the blood was first drawn from their body before burning it up to be bones. The son probably built up the extra rooms to hide it.
Masako passed Mai the key in the “dream”, as Bou-san said that it was very impressive since Mai was able to get her spirit out of her body to pass Masako the key. Lin’s ability was a way to use a spirit to tangle and capture spirits when Lin explained. Masako found her comb dropping on the floor, with Mai questioning why Naru had the comb. He did not answer, as everyone teased Naru saying how worried he was for Masako. Yasuhara eventually explained to the owner about the situation and adviced him to burn the house down.
A few days later, a small news article talked about the house burning. Mai took the opportunity to ask about Naru’s parents in the office when Madoka came, since Lin and Naru were not around. Madoka said his father was a ghost hunter too, but Naru would have told her if he asked since it was nothing important but that he had something to do. Madoka then told Mai to come over, revealing that Naru and Lin were eloping causing Mai to blush. Madoka then said it would be fun if that happened as it was a joke from Madoka. Mai questioned why Naru had Masako’s comb and Madoka said that Naru was probably worried about his comrades since he was not a cold blooded man.
Probably (the probably is emphasized).
Thoughts

I think everyone will definitely agree that this arc is one of the most compelling arcs since it starts off with a very bloody and disturbing theme and maintains the tension of the arc throughout the four episodes. This is clearly the best arc in Ghost Hunt by a mile and I will like to see someone challenge this point that it is not. I also feel that this episode is good because it shows the inadequancy of the ghost hunters for the first time. If you notice, all the exorcism had been done rather successfully without any really big complexities.
This is perhaps the first case in which they did not have a true solution to solve it other than burning the house down to get rid of the spirits in the house. It has already been established that the power of Urado is only existent within the perimeter of the house within but I guess the fact that Naru admitted to having no ability to solve the situation does bring in some realism.
I actually see Mai’s point of view that she is probably shocked still that they cannot do anything but Naru and everyone else are experts at “soothing spirits”, not eliminating a demon like Urado who is only looking to extend his life by sacrificing lives. He is not one that wishes to move on, but simply wanting and yearning for eternal life, the life of a person seeking Utopia in a bloodied ritual.
I am also amazed at Mai’s growing strength. The ability to travel her soul beyond her body in the form of a “dream-like” situation and passing items such as a key to Masako in that state is just crazy. I mean, the ability to foresee the ghost fires in this episode is already crazy but to be able to travel beyond the physical boundaries of her body and passing the key. That is insane totally. To add on, it is amazing that Dream-Naru also visited Masako earlier, telling her that it was going to be fine. If someone can give me a good explanation to why Dream-Naru will also appear to Masako, I will give you a virtual cookie.
The only conclusion that I can derive from this situation is that Dream-Naru cannot be supported by the logic of Mai’s power and must be a power only from a foreign source, most likely Naru or a spirit source. I say this because Mai generally does not really conjure Dream-Naru but instead, he appeared to her mostly. I do not believe that Mai’s ability can extend to that effect and I feel that Dream Naru feels more like a manifestation of Naru’s subconscious power or something. On the other hand, if Mai does have the ability to project images and bodies to people, she is going to be crazily powerful.
I also thought about the fact of Naru’s father being a ghost hunter. It still does not eliminate the logic of Dr Davis being Naru. If you notice, Dr Davis is also considered to be one of the greatest ghost hunters. Nothing is said about her mother though and I am slightly disappointed at the lack of information.
Now on the comedy parts, Naru is evil for laughing at Mai for being incapable of lying (which is good). Masako’s blushing and jealousy of Mai is also classic but the best is still the two Masako x Naru moments, one being the sweet Naru comforting Masako and telling her that it is all right, and the second part about Naru keeping Masako’s comb and not saying anything.
See, the show proved that there is IN FACT SOMETHING with Masako and Naru. This is love totally! I also laughed crazily with Madoka’s antics about Naru x Lin eloping, as well as the “probably” at the suggestion of Naru doing it simply due to the concern of a comrade. Yami and Honeysempai, this does not give you the right to go all Yaoi-fangirl like. It’s just a joke by Madoka. A JOKE!
*turns all maniac fanboy-like with the TRUE REVELATION OF THIS EPISODE*
An excellently executed episode. I cannot wait for the last file, the cursed house!
P/s I didn’t know I rambled that much…

I’d like to give a try for that virtual cookie, if I may. I’ve said all along that I believe that dream!Naru is not simply a manifestation of Mai’s imagination. That he has a “reality” beyond her subconsiousness. Just wanted to reiterate that fact.
Here’s a recap of some of the things we know from prior episodes. (1) Dream!Naru has some form of independent movement. He can come and go within Mai’s dreams at his own will. (2) Masako has the ability to tap into Mai’s dreams. In other words, Masako can enter into Mai’s dreams and see what Mai sees. We saw her do this in the last case when Masako witness Mai’s vision of Sachauki’s (sp?) spirit being absorbed by the dark spirit.
My theory is that while Mai was dreaming this last time, dream!Naru came into Mai’s dream as usual. Masako had been trying to protect herself with her own psychic powers and accidentally tapped into Mai’s dream just as she did in the last case. (That explains how the two girls were able to meet later on in Mai’s dream in my theory.) This means that Mai, dream!Naru, and Masako were all together in Mai’s dream. Once Masako joined Mai’s dream, dream!Naru could be seen by Masako and could talk to her just as he does with Mai.
If you want an analogy, think of Mai’s dream as if it were some online chat room. Mai’s dream created the chat room. Dream!Naru joined the chat room. Later Masako joined the chat room. Once Masako was in the chat room, dream!Naru was able to talk with her just like he can talk with Mai. Later on, Mai and Masako were able to chat as well.
Does that all make sense? Do I get my virtual cookie?
My theory? Dream Naru is Naru-chan’s dead twin brother.
woah.. i haven’t finished reading the comments on the last entry and you’v already done this one.. anyway, god job Impz! the two pics of bloodied urado really scare the hell of me (i’m a coward, yeah)
do you think that Naru holding Masako’s comb is actually helping the Dream Naru to enter Masako’s dream (if i’m reading what you wrote correctly) And why did Madako and Naru have to go all the way to debunk the fake Dr Davis so as to accept an assignment that may endanger their lives? It must mean that debunking him is very, very important.
oh yeah, if Dream Naru and Naru is the same person, how can the Dream Naru tell Mai where Masako is whereas Naru himself doesn’t seem to know? Somehow, the idea of Dream Naru being a different person makes sense to me. Oh, Naru and Lin eloping-lol! However, i’m for Naru x Mai faction *raise banner* >
LKK says: “(2) Masako has the ability to tap into Mai’s dreams. In other words, Masako can enter into Mai’s dreams and see what Mai sees. We saw her do this in the last case when Masako witness Mai’s vision of Sachauki’s (sp?) spirit being absorbed by the dark spirit.”
I have to respectfully disagree. I don’t think Masako entered Mai’s dream; I think they both witnessed a situation that happened right in front of them. So it’s more like there’s this car crash that they both “see” because it happened near them, not the fact that the car crash happened in one of them’s dreams and the other entered the dream to see it.
I do agree with the first point, though, in that Dream Naru is independent of Mai. I still think that Dream Naru is the subconscious manifestation of Real Naru (perhaps a reflection of his real powers?). Previously, Dream Naru has always CHOSEN to go to Mai’s dream. He probably has the ability to go to any sensitive medium/psychic’s dreams. It’s simply that he CHOSE to go to Mai’s dream.
Now, at this time Real Naru is worried about Masako (I give you that, Impz. But I think he’s worried about Masako as a friend, not as a crush or love interest ^_^ ). There isn’t really any doubt about that, with the evidence of the comb. So subconsciously, Dream Naru sought out Masako and appeared to her, giving her hope/moral support/whatever. This time, Dream Naru CHOSE to go to Masako, although he had never done that before (probably being he didn’t feel that it’s necessary, because after all, Mai’s the one for him
), because Real Naru is worried and hence Dream Naru is worried as well.
Regarding Naru x Masako, I have to say that given that Dream Naru has never appeared to Masako before (and only appeared when she’s in great danger), shows that Mai is much more important in Dream Naru’s POV. And since I’m firmly of the opinion that Dream Naru equals Real Naru, Mai is more important to Real Naru as well.
I haven’t seen the episode, so all these are theories only. I do have a question though… is it ever explained why Urado didn’t kill Masako immediately?
@ Briar : “I haven’t seen the episode, so all these are theories only. I do have a question though… is it ever explained why Urado didn’t kill Masako immediately?”
Until I read the translations I can’t answer for sure. But I believe she’s warding herself to some degree. Remember when Naru asked Masako in episode 20 if she could protect herself a little? He says, “If you’re even a minor psychic, you can at least protect yourself, right?” Masako answer yes.
I believe that her warding spells are sufficient to keep her safe from immediate death although not enough to help her get away.
Also, I think in the manga, Masako tells Mai that she’s been protecting herself to some degree. But I don’t have a manga translation (only someone else’s summary) to use a definitive proof on that point.
gg Extrange you’ve just spoiled me :/
I shouldn’t come here and read about eps 21 after all >.
@ Mgz: spoiled? That’s just my theory. Besides, it’s so predictible will all the clues they give during the Anime. Want me to enumerate them??.
i also wondered why dream Naru could appear to Masako and did it only in this one situation. if dream Naru is indeed independent of real Naru, and he has the power to appear to sensitive mediums, why was he appearing only to Mai? since the way Masako said it, i assumed that smiling Naru appeared to her a while ago and not in the time that Mai was asleep. on the dead twin brother theory, if dream Naru is open and nice, maybe he “chose” Mai since their personalities are similar? and appeared to Masako only when she needed somebody, simply because he’s a caring person… if that’s the case, could Mai be in love with the twin and not really real Naru? which leaves real Naru for Masako? !_!
@Briar: i’m coming from the Chinese version of the manga. when Mai found Masako in the dream, she said (roughly translated), i’ve seen memories of horrible things, and i’m very tired. when Mai found her in reality, she didn’t know that there was a lot of blood in the room, and from her reactions seemingly didn’t know that Urado was in the tub. one explanation might be that once she was grabbed and dumped in this room, she set up some defensive measures (like an energy field maybe) that repelled Urado for a while. once Mai came in, she felt that everything was going to be ok, the field was broken, and Urado came after them.
another possibility is that Urado doesn’t need any new blood at the moment (two assistants in the last two days), and simply grabbed Masako because he had the chance to. supposedly, having superpowers has an extra yummy factor for man-eating demons. but Mai was going to take away his yummy prey, so he came out. Mai seems to have a lot of potential and raw power she doesn’t know how to control yet. if she’s more powerful than Masako, she’s basically yummier, which might explain why Urado went directly after her first.
@ Extrange : I would like to hear how you developed the dead twin theory based clues from the anime even if Mgz doesn’t.
@ Extrange : I would like to hear how you developed the dead twin theory based on clues from the anime even if Mgz doesn’t. (*typo correction; apologies for repost*)
@Briar: there is no explanation by the anime to explain why she is not dead yet. In fact, everyone assumed to find Masako’s body until Mai had her “dream”, hence a reasonable educated guess will be Lkk’s reply that she can fend off with her power at the very least but unable to escape as she has that form of ability. In a way, no one could.
@LKK: Sounds logical but the fact that Masako has not actively tried to seek out the tapping of the dream makes me skeptical about it. It sounds plausible though, and my brain isn’t functioning too well this late in the night so I will allow myself a day to rest before answering and replying you effectively.
@Danie: I will think that the comb does not have that big a significance though you might have pointed out a thing that personal objects of a certain person can be used and tapped differently. If you remember, Dr Davis can find a person simply by touching the items of the person that the missing person held. Hence, it is possible that Naru is able to tap into that conscious ability if he is really that powerful. I believe he is. I believe that the inference makes sense since we are brought into question Dr Davis in this arc.
To answer about debunking issues, the fake Dr Davis has been going around to trick other people and scare people about spirit occurrences, earning a good amount of money from it. The rumor has spread enough to give the ghost hunters a bad name.
Remember, Naru did not do all this for free, he gets paid a good sum for it. Hence, it is lucrative to cheat and hence Madako asked Naru to find out and debunk them completely.
~I also dragged Extrange to answer the question posed by LKK~
“Masako has the ability to tap into Mai’s dreams. In other words, Masako can enter into Mai’s dreams and see what Mai sees. We saw her do this in the last case when Masako witness Mai’s vision of Sachauki’s (sp?) spirit being absorbed by the dark spirit.
@LKK: several small details: things like Naru asking Mai where did she heard his nick name in ep 1, Mai asking Naru if he knew how it feels to be killed in ep 20 and his reaction, the opposite personalities of Dream and real Naru. Sorry if I can’t recall more clues atm…
For one, it seems that unlike the usual “dreams” that Mai has, it is very different in the fact that she is able to pass physical objects belonging to her to someone else (Masako). I have a feeling that Mai actually tapped in the presence of Masako, not in a dream but rather than a “dream-like” out of soul experience.
Still following my argument?
In a way, I do agree more with AChickPass (easier to call him/her that) that it’s likely that Mai is more of a reception rather than someone who is a medium. It’s likely since Bou-san mentioned about her new ability of moving out of her soul and it must be powerful if she is able to transport a physical object to Masako, even if it is a small object like a key.
Hmmm, my mind is really failing me at this time and I should stop thinking. I think too much today with my school work already, ahaha~
They outdid themselves with this arc. I hope they keep it up with the next one.
Wait, “She ended by saying that she still hated Masako.” Who said that, Mai? Or did you mean Masako said that and meant Mai?
Do you think you could explain further what Bousan and Lin were talking about?! pretty please!
Impz, You never know if Madoka was fully joking or not… Im keeping my hopes up for LinxNaru.
Its better than MasakoxNaru *runs runs runs away from a mad Impz*
Another good job on the summary!
@LKK- I guess I was somewhat right on the conversation between Mai and Masako…
@Extrange- Interesting way of coming up with your theory!
@impz: Fine Ill let my mind wander on its own then…
This epi in general scared the blue-hell outta me! Even though I knew what was gonna happen, Urado staring at Mai freaked me out!
Mai didnt ask Masako about Naru’s weakness right? Just that Masako knows it. Man Id have jumped on that info but Mai probably figured that Masako wouldnt tell her.
Mmm… I dunno this arc was so… creepy O___O I didn’t find the scene were urado comes out of the tub that scary compared to having him face to face. Now that was scary, I started wondering what would i have done and the answer is simple I WOULD HAVE GONE INSANE so digging my own grave.
however, my question is how where they killed then, was the same chopping knife used or did Urado just devoured them right there? could someone clarify that for me?
Finally I think Masako somehow got into Mai’s dream, my opinion derives from the fact that dream-naru only shows up in Mai’s dreams, not anyone else’s. So if dream-naru was there it was most likely that masako came into Mai’s dream so allowing dream naru to come in contact with masako.
GREAT ARC!!!
oh god wt a gr8 ep. ok lsn to ths um startin to believe tht naru z dr.davis, coz one of dr.daviss’ (powers) z to know the location of a person from a subject tht he last uses, so naru took the comb trayin to reach masako, bt mai was faster than him, common impz it’s obvious tht naru feels nothin for masako, and i also believe tht masako knows naru real identity tht’s why he accepts to go out with her and stuff like tht,ths z called black male) and she herself said tht naru adresses to mai in her first name, and believe me she knows tht she’s the loser, nw if 2 grls r fighting over a guy the grl tht knows tht shes the loser will be jelous from the other one, and would keep making a big fuzz over the issue, so its obvious tht masako can see the connection between mai and naru so she’s crazy jelous, naruXmai forever
Exchange!
You stole my hypothesis! I came to the same conclusion this morning (4am local time) after seeing the anime. it was far to early for a post and I was so proud of myself and now I am scooped…!!!
Drat!
Oh, sorry,
I also wanted to add, Impz, great summary as always!!
remember at the sakauchi episode where dream-naru warns her of those huge evil spirits? she said she was going off to warn john and yasuhara abt it and dream-naru seemed to be talking to himself after she left. i think he said “take care, be careful” or something.
i don’t think that was a manifestation of her mind. my guess is dream-naru is either naru’s twin. and i think masako would know since she’d be able to identify who the spirit is. that could be the weakness she’s talking abt. aaaaand assuming naru and masako has a thing going on, she’d probably know of his dead twin. of course, assuming he does exist in the first place.
so being an independant spirit source, dr-naru could choose whose dream to appear to. i think his role is to warn any of naru’s comrades of danger and stuff. mai would seem to “meet” him more because she’s more prone to danger.
anyway, its impossible for dr-naru to be naru. i think a person would go into some sort of trance if he tries to connect with someone telepathically and naru’s always busy when mai gets those dreams. then again, we don’t know if he does go into one of those “stare-into-empty-space’ spells when he’s away.
@Impzy, see I told you, that you wouldn’t be disappointed!
I agree that the comb isn’t really a sign of Naru having any feelings for Masako other than maybe friendship. I think you’re on track with the theory he had it as a link to Masako so they could find her.
This is definetely my favourite arc of the series.
@Minerva, oh I totally agree with you, it wasn’t him coming out of the bath that was freaky, I expected that. It was him practically being in Mai’s face! I hate having people I don’t know in my personal bubble, so having a demon invade it would be especially frightening!
@achickenpasseth, LOL Mai does get in trouble a lot doesn’t she? She needs to take a container of salt with her so she can draw a circle around herself with it. Then again knowing Mai she’d just leave the circle and head right into danger. Of course I think that works mainly on evil spirits rather than demons.
Okay so this episode really does suggest that dream Naru is not a figment of Mai’s imagination. The only way that could be true, was if Mai was projecting him into Masako’s mind. That doesn’t seem very likely given that Mai also comforted Masako herself, so why do it twice over? Therefore it seems more likely as you all say that dream Naru is from a source other than Mai.
Either Naru himself subconciously or consciously. Evidence for it be a conscious effort on his part would be the comb. He needed an object of hers in order to project to her.
However this makes no sense since as Danie pointed out, Naru did not know where Masako was being held.
So this points to Dream Naru being subconcious on his part. Why then the need for the comb? Maybe Naru had obtained it, in order to give to Lin since he is an Onmyouji but never got around to it.
Or it was a conscious effort on his part, he did find Masako, but for whatever reason his dream state chose to show Mai her location rather than his concious mind.
My brain is spinning.
Or dream Naru is completely independant of Naru and is in fact the spirit of his dead twin.
Maybe he turned up to comfort Masako because Mai was upset?
Okay enough speculating for now, my brain has had enough and the doctor got more blood out of me today, I need to sleep some more.
*Impz,ok fine!I think this time you won against me and the rest of the Mai x Naru supporters bla bla!but I was very impressed by Lin-sama!wow wow wow,I may say he’s great!!!!
and I find also nice the scenery of Yasuhara, its very cute when his nodding like that hmmmm, hmmm!
*D.J,thanks for Naruto I appreciate it very much!
Okay, let me put my spin in here…the dream Naru is the dead twin and he know that Naru has some affection for Mai (yeah NaruxMai!!!) so he watches out for her. Masako know Naru had a twin and that he died (maybe how or why)and that Naru feels guilty for this reason (weakness). Naru has some of his twin power but can’t feel his twin so is a bit lost (twins know what this feeling is – like a part of you is gone). And I agree that Masako tapped into Mai’s dream or Mai’s subconciously bespoke her worry to Naru’s twin and he went to comfort Masako till Mai got there.
Honestly,I find really weird, the thinks of dreamnaru!I don’t think so,I don’t know!I guess that dream-naru they called is the same person as Naru itself,I think that his special ability, like Lin-sama,Mai and the rest of them!and there must be a reason why he’s keeping it that way!somebody said before,I mean in the previous episodes that Naru is protecting them?so I think this is how Naru protect the rest of them!Like Mai is starting only an ordinary teenage girl, who will know that she will have that great ESP, she can able to pass the key to Masako, while she sleeping,I guess Naru has also those kind of special ability but a different one!
but hey all of you don’t get angry of me! I was just trying to expressed my point of view regarding GH!
thanks for reading!
*13sugars:I’m waiting for your nice comments!where are you anyways?
I want a show down bwtn Lin and Naru XD Shikigami v PK!
@na2niet, Your welcome ^-^, there is so much more to Naruto than I put down, but I think that will give you an introduction to it. The manga is definetely worth a read. Some people dismiss it offhand, but there really is a lot of depth to it once you get into it. And if you stick to the manga you can avoid the fillers that dragged the anime down. Although Shippuden has started so now we are back to manga related anime!
Back to the topic at hand!
I agree, one thing that really struck me about this episode was WOW Lin-san is awesome!
And that is a very nice idea about dream-Naru being an extension of himself that protects those around him. ^-^
Dream!Naru being Naru’s dead twin? >__
Sorry, something ate the rest of my post x.x again…
Dream!Naru being Naru’s dead twin? Haha Somehow, I find that highly unlikely but to each his own.
I say…Mai and Masako have similar abilities which would explain why Masako started seeing dream! Naru as well. However, could that possibly mean that Mai’s abilities are more advanced that Masako’s? Or maybe it’s just another growth in Masako’s spiritual capabilities. Either way, I do agree with dream!Naru coming from another party. Also, I just noticed that dream!Naru appeared to Mai ever since she met Naru. I’m still not rejecting the fact that it has something to do with Naru.
Hypothesis alert!! I think Naru had something special in him and it awakened some potential powers inside Mai.
About MasakoxNaruxMai thing, Masako had episode 21, but nothing beats Mai’s episode 17 Haha
I think Dream Naru is helping Mai develop her abilities, her powers i believe can more than transcend Masako as the perect medium being able to interact diferent planes.
Naru likes Mai people, she may annoy him sometimes but at the end of the day he is intrigued anddare i say find her rereshing. I so love the episode witht he quote on quote talking coin.
But i have to say, this arc was intense
*danie: doesn’t make sense if you scared by pictures alone!but if you say you have done watching it!then I would agree!me either,I can’t watched it alone!hek hek!
*D.J: you have a good idea also with the comb, yes!can be also possible!that Naru needs something from Masako to protect her!but how he protect her anyways,in what way? we seen the amazing ability of Lin-san,(Lin-sama),but I don’t see what Naru did!hmmmm (sigh)
come to think fo it!right now we saw that Naru enters Masako’s dream as well, like he always did it on Mai’s dream !and if Naru used the comb,to to protect Masako and enters her dream!what would Naru have from Mai? that he always manage to enter her dreams?
…I’m not going to spoil about what I learnt about DreamNaru even before this episode. >_>
Suffice to say, DN is not a dream – he’s his own entity, and he’s probably only around because someone isn’t quite dead yet.
Masako can communicate with him easy (Oh dear. Apparently she has the power to make DN willingly leave. Naru’s weakness?
#$%& buggy reply software.
“Mai’s receptiveness allows DN to visit and guide her.” Got eaten by Ye Pirate Muncher. -.-
‘Suffice to say, DN is not a dream – he’s his own entity, and he’s probably only around because someone isn’t quite dead yet.’
Waaaaah, Naru’s not dying is he? Please say no, please say he has a sickly twin somewhere!
Dunno about the comb thing, i have read so much about it in forums and stuff. I guess masako has a point thinking naru dislikes her because of her knowing his weakness. But hey… he still worries about her, at least we can say he maybe dislikes the blackmailing but not to the pointing of hating her. Now dream naru i go for the twin brother theory. Lin said someone said the same thing Mai said about not wanting him to hate her for being japanese. Maybe naru and his bro are originally japanese but emigrated to england. Twin is death or in a coma and comes to Mai in dreams to aid her and naru.
@DJ: Good God seems we in the same channel. I just find it freaky when creepy people come close to you in a range of 30cm… my reaction is “excuse me do i know u, do i care to know u… shoo”. Now it being a blood thirsty ghoul wanting to kill me dunno i would die of a heart attack first i guess X_X
@na2niet: Hail to Lin sama and his shiki. Man that guy is sooo cool i wonder why he doesn’t get more action screen time >_>
@audi: i think so too. Despite the cold demeanor naru has a soft spot for mai
@MinervaArnauld, definetely on the same channel, there are a rare few who allowed within my personal bubble. And I can get very upset if people I don’t know encroach on that space. I’d say 30cm is about right, its waaaaaay too close. Men make me particularly wary but I do have a very good reason for that.
The more I see him in action the more I am in awe of Lin and his amazing abilities, he’s very easy on the eyes too!
@Honeysempai: It’s Masako who said that she just cannot like Mai at all and hated her before leaving the room. I assumed that you are talking about the convo between Lin and Bou-san near the end.
Bou-san: Talking about tricks, what is the thing you threw to save Mai and the others.
Lin: That is my specialty (I think).
Bou-san: It is a form of art/skill where he can summon and order a ghost effectively in order to capture and bind spirits.
That’s it but I am not too sure if I got it spot on since there’s a term I did not really know how to translate. I am but an amateur Chinese -> English translator after all, not a fansub level one.
@Minerva: Well, the fact is that Naru is not a cold-blooded person. He is of course more concerned about his mates and working partners rather than himself, for he looks after them too selflessly compared to his own body. It’s a very big contrast to how he presented himself as someone really stoic. He’s clearly not, if you see his expressions and his acts. They don’t correspond together.
I do wonder what the weakness is though. Any idea at all?
The Dream Naru and Naru himself possibility is one that often gets me thinking. My feeling is that it is probably a totally different persona and the logic behind the dead twin will make sense at the criticism by Mai when she said he did not know how it feels to see someone die. However, it will be interesting to explain about this dead twin…
He probably died saving Naru during ghost hunting if anything, which is probably why.

and theres a Q tht has been bothering me, if DR naru has the power to enter mais’ dreams then why not entering his brother head ( in assumption tht he’s his dead twin) and warn him,or to enter lin-sans’ head since those two have gr8 powers…hmmm, cn any 1 help me with ths.

*13sugars:so your gonna have anime Ghost hunters babies! hahahahaha!from Lin-san!
OFF-TOPIC COMMENT
~Na2niet~ Well, I absolutely and definitely wouldn’t mind. (lol) It is so great that Lin-san IS an anime character. Because if there really is a guy like that who exists in my reality, then my heart and my virtue would really be in danger. ^^
END OF OFF-TOPIC COMMENT
@13sugars: I am actually teasing about the Masako x Naru moments. Still, ignores all your claims about the non-existent pairing of Naru x Mai. ~whistles~
Actually, while 13sugars was swooning all over Lin, it triggered to my thoughts that Lin is in fact very capable of many things that I did not expect him to have. I mean, he can not only summon ghosts, detect ghosts, see ghosts but also to use ghosts to his advantage. It’s pretty scary and I finally realize why Bou-san is so impressed when they realize that Lin is an onyumji (can’t spell).
One thing about the ending really makes me wonder once again about the usefulness of Ayako. Is she nothing but a motherly figure (when she’s 23)? I have not seen her really being useful, and I really hope she can be more useful. Also, John has dropped to the extent that he becomes a helper hand rather than helping up seriously.
Quite depressing but I bet no one notices.
Now that you mentioned it… John really hasn’t done anything for quite some time. Ayako, she has hope for redeeming herself, because she’s pretty much at the very bottom. I suppose even Bou-san is getting sort of not-doing-anything. Masako herself isn’t doing much either, although she’s still contributing in terms of plot and character interaction. John doesn’t do anything at all, though… he can’t go up or down. This arc is more of Lin and Mai’s powers. Maybe next arc (the last?) we’ll get to see Naru’s and Ayako’s powers, as they are the ones that have not done anything magical yet.
I have a question for everyone. It’s an issue that has been puzzling me, and I can’t come up with an answer I find rational.
I believe that Naru fetched Masako’s comb in order to do a psychometric reading on it in the hopes of getting information about where Masako is located. (In other words, I think Naru did with Masako’s comb what the lady wanted the fake Davis to do with Suzuki’s contact lens case.) I suspect that Naru didn’t get much useful information from his psychometric reading because he seems to working towards finding Masako in a step-by-step methodical manner rather than someone who possesses some extra-ordinary insight into the situation.
But what I can’t figure out is this…
Why does Naru keep Masako’s comb?
I imagine things went like this. He fetches the comb from wherever he finds it (handbag, room, bedside table, whatever). He does a psychometric reading. He gets or more likely doesn’t get any relevant information. So why does he bring it with him?
You could say that he hasn’t done his reading yet and brings it with him to do later. But I’ll say, why wouldn’t he have done his reading? Why wait on doing the reading? In the Forbidden Game arc, he did psychometric readings on the desks as soon as he visited the classroom (ep 14). Why would he hold off reading Masako’s comb as soon as he fetched it? I don’t think he would wait. It doesn’t make any sense to me. So I must conclude that he did a reading as soon as he got the comb.
Which brings me back to the question I can’t come up with a rational explanation for? Why does Naru carry Masako’s comb with him?
@Impz & Briar: John has had his uses (like in the Christmas special), and i guess he’s not doing much because there hasn’t been anything possessed lately. Bou-san and Ayako will be quite useful in the next arc. plenty of stuff done in the next five episodes.
i have to stop talking now because i know too much.
“and theres a Q tht has been bothering me, if DR naru has the power to enter mais’ dreams then why not entering his brother head ( in assumption tht he’s his dead twin) and warn him,or to enter lin-sans’ head since those two have gr8 powers…hmmm, cn any 1 help me with ths.”
Think: It would be rather awkward, wouldn’t it. You figure the rest out. >_>
“Why does Naru keep Masako’s comb?

Must be another one of those manga plotholes again. Pity I can’t seem to find book 10 in the correct language ’round here. >_>
I’d say he DID do a psychometric reading on the comb, tho – otherwise I don’t think they’d arrive in time to rescue the impulsive Mai.
But where he got the comb? Who knows – he could have found it on the floor in front of the house whilst Mai went running off.
“I think he said “shiki
@Impz, thank you for replying.. ^0^
“Hence, it is possible that Naru is able to tap into that conscious ability if he is really that powerful. I believe he is.
Oh weird, my comment was cut halfway..
@na2niet: oh pictures DO scare me. I have such a faint heart, sometime I even amaze myself how I managed to watch GH all these time. BTW, I haven’t seen any ghost movies for the past 5 years so u have it, I am such a scaredy cat >
in the end of the ep when mai was running behind naru she turns around and see something at the end of the path way, i thnk it was something white, nw is it urado? or somethn else? can u help me in ths.
Whoa Your site is great.
Well, I’m still waiting for the subs but about Naru possibily being Dr Davis, I don’t know, doesn’t Naru have that japanese eyes? I think Mai woud’ve mentioned if he was american or something else and I don’t remember her doing it. But I can always be wrong.
Bye.
hey where r u guys? DJ? 13sugar? na2niet? cat? lkk?
wheres ur comments and theories? i need to read more^^
@ A chicken passeth : “But where he got the comb? Who knows – he could have found it on the floor in front of the house whilst Mai went running off.”
According to people who’ve read the text of manga v7, Masako says that the comb was in her handbag prior to her capture.
I believe that Naru fetched the comb immediately after the group decided to search for Masako. If you remember, Naru left the base first. John notices his departure and says something. I don’t know what. But I believe that is when Naru got her comb. In the manga, Naru and Lin leave the base together and say that they will meet up with the others in the hidden area of the house in a few minutes.
@ A chicken passeth : “In any case, Lin is more like them Taoist magicians …
The only reason why Lin is referred to as an Onmyouji is because that’s the only word the Japanese has for his family heritage. He’s otherwise descended from a family of taoist magicians, who have served in the ancient courts as astrologers. ”
I agree with you that Lin is not really an Onmyouji. Isn’t Onmy
*laboosh:thanks for asking, where are we?well as for me I’m just arrived from my work!and I’m sure 13sugars is working as well, and D.J she’s busy with her prince I think!shhhh
*laboosh :this is what you said to 13sugars “@ 13sugar: hey nice to c u was waitin for ur comment, and I support u 100% ^^”but have you done reading her last comments, like she like to bear children of Lin-san?you like to support that as well right!LOL
*danie:don’t worry your alone!but I can manage to look scary pictures!some of movies too!but at GH,I have no other choice than dragging some of my family members to give me company, but in return of that the punishment I will have!I have to do all the household chores!hehe!
now lets back to the main topic!I guess I have to re watched the GH!for me to understand the whole story!honestly some part of it,I can’t able to watched like that guy Urado in the bathtub jeez!scares me like hell!(LOL)
~Bruna~ Wow, a new name! ^^
If I may, I’d like to offer my own conjecture about your question.
If Naru is indeed half-American or half-British, it is very possible that Mai wouldn’t have noticed it. It is actually quite common that an Asian’s genes are strong that most of the time a half-Asian person’s features are more Asian than the other half of his/her raise.
But then, it could also be the speculation that Naru was born Japanese and went overseas then just returned recently to Japan. ^^
I don’t really think Mai mentioned anything about it before probably because she isn’t certain of the things she knows of Naru
~Laboosh~ (blushes) Now I can understand Impz’s feelings of flattery. It really is pleasing to have people read your thoughts. Then have them share their own thoughts and want for more. ^^
Anyway, I also think that Mai saw Urado when she looked back because her eyes seemed to have widened in horror at the sight of that whitish-thingy.
~Danie~ I think it is very possible that the Society for Psychical Research is a non-profit organization. However, the Shibuya Psychic Research may not be the same sort of organiztion.
I’d go along on Impz’s statements that Naru is not solving the paranormal cases for free. For all that we know of Naru, President Shibuya Kazuo of Shibuya Psychic Research, I doubt he is a rich person who has tons of money to back up his research organization. Though Shibuya Psychic Research may be sponsored or funded, Naru is not the type of person who will just rely on such things.
~AChickenPasseth~ “Think: It would be rather awkward, wouldn’t it. You figure the rest out. >_>” (lol) At first I couldn’t get it, but when I did, I was crackin’ up.
I think you’re right about the proper term to call Lin-san; a “Taost master/magician,
@ ThirteenSugars : “I’m assuming that Naru went there to get an item of Masako and decided to just take the comb along with him and go straight to looking for Masako instead of taking a full reading of the comb then go all the way back to the room to return the said item.”
Part of the problem in resolving this question is that we really don’t know how much time Naru needs in order to do a psychometric reading. I was working under the assumption that a reading is quick flash type of procedure requiring less than a minute, seconds only, to perform. That is how Naru reading the desks in the spoon-bending arc appeared to me. But I don’t know for sure.
If a reading really is a quick flash type of procedure, then Naru could have done a reading in the bedroom as soon as he touched the comb. There would have been no need to take the comb from the room in the first place as far as I can see.
However, if a reading takes longer than a few seconds to do, then Naru might have taken the comb with him in order to have it when he had more time to spend taking a reading.
For those who like to hear from me!here I am,I have done re watched EP 21!since that I’m not really convinced that dream-naru!and I don’t see much differences between Naru-real vs.Dream-naru!except just the smile in their face, and thats all!I think that guy,you think he’s twin brother the a gr8t power of Naru!I’m sure of it!do you remember,Naru is already a Ghost before he meet Mai and the others, except Lin-san! so you mean, all the time he’s always depending of Lin-san abilities?I’m sure not!and that is he’s gr8t power!Maybe he is Dr.Davis?I don’t believed it either!jeez to be a doctor,it takes years to do that!and Naru is only 17 years old!he must be pretty genius then!
*laboosh:I think the white light you see,I think is Urado!you can hear the sound its the same of Urado’s creepy sound!
I’m also wondering why,Mai didn’t even mention to everyone that she’s dreaming of Naru!
so Naru get the comb, and hand it over to his brother?I don’t know anymore?somebody help me!I need a doctor now!to examine my mind that turns upside down!LOL
OFF-TOPIC COMMENT
~Impz~ “while 13sugars was swooning all over Lin,” I wasn’t swooning. I was…losing my mind? I guess that’s the right term but at least I’m happily losing my mind.
(lol j/k)
~Na2niet~ (lol) I was only teasing about that. But come on, you have to admit that Lin-san is pretty cool, gorgeous and impressive. It makes me wonder what else is he good at, like, is he a good cook as well? (lol)
END OF OFF TOPIC COMMENT
~Laboosh~ “theres a Q tht has been bothering me, if DR naru has the power to enter mais’ dreams then why not entering his brother head ( in assumption tht he’s his dead twin) and warn him,or to enter lin-sans’ head since those two have gr8 powers…hmmm, cn any 1 help me with ths.
@ ThirteenSugars : “Because I’m thinking, if Naru is Dr. Davis and his psychic abilities are as dangerous as the impression I get from Lin-san’s reactions, then using Naru’s powers as the last means would only be proper and make sense. At least to me it does. After all, with great powers come great responsibilities.”
I agree that Naru’s PK is something he doesn’t want to use for whatever reason, most likely because it’s dangerous. That’s why he asked Mai to not tell anyone especially Lin about the spoon-bending.
I’m not as sure that Naru’s psychometric powers are as equally dangerous though. He didn’t seem to hesitate to use psychometry in the spoon-bending arc. True, he was casual about it because there were all those other people around. But even making allowances for that, I didn’t get the feeling that psychometry was something he shouldn’t have been using. It just felt different than his spoon-bending demonstration.
I think we need to consider the idea that Naru’s different powers may have different consequences.
On a different note, if I were dreaming about my boss, I certainly wouldn’t want to tell anyone about it! I completely with ThirteenSugars on that.
OFF-TOPIC COMMENT
~Lkk~ (sighs) At least you’re dreaming about your boss. I, on the other hand, have been troubled by dreams of a writer I barely know! And darn it! His face is always shadowed. (lol) I can’t help myself by admire him, the guy is seriously talented in writing. (blushes)
END OF OFF-TOPIC COMMENT
~Lkk~ You have a point about considering the dangers Naru’s pyschometric powers. The only guess I can give about that is; compared to the After-school Spell Caster arc, there were many people suffering while in this arc, Masako is only one person to which they’re not even sure if she is suffering. They only know that she is missing and they’re relying on her own abilities that she will be able to remain safe till they find her. I know it sounds cold but, as proven by the previous Forbidden Game arc, Naru really takes up drastic measures only when desperate times call and when many people are in dire need, and probably to him, when a certain number of people are already in danger, that’s when he really uses his powers. Probably. ^^
CORRECTION–> “I can’t help myself but admire him,” and “You have a point about considering the dangers Naru’s pyschometric powers have.” ^^
Man the LinFanGirls are coming out! Every new post I see on forums lately concerns someone new fangirling over Lin…honeysempai isnt gonna be happy
Ill stick with Naru ^^
@LKK: I know we’ve discussed it before in the manga thread so its nice to see other people actually put there 2 cents in on why Naru kept the comb.
@13sugars: Mai’s dreaming of Naru has changed though since she first began doing it on the first arc. Long gone are the days when she’d wake up and blush cuz she was dreaming of him again. Now it seems (well to me) that she expects him to be there or better yet its phased by it anymore. I think the best show of this was in the Prohibited Play arc when she say dream!naru and said to herself “he’s here too” kinda nonchalantly. Course Im not still surprised that she isnt telling anyone about dream!naru in particular but I am glad in this last arc she mentioned her dreams alot more then she had before…course if I had a dream where I was about to be killed Id be telling anyone who’d listen!
LKK and A chicken passeth says: “I imagine things went like this. He fetches the comb from wherever he finds it (handbag, room, bedside table, whatever). He does a psychometric reading. He gets or more likely doesn’t get any relevant information. So why does he bring it with him?
@danie: Well, my speculation that they are getting paid is not based on any real evidence from the anime or manga (and I don’t read the manga anyway, manga freaks!). I presumed that it is likely that Naru in fact receives an amount because it will be extremely surprising with the sophistication and expensive equipment to be supported merely by funds.
Even true legitimate societies require a little fee and tons of charities to even get by, so it will really make very little sense for SPR to be a charitable organization.
That in fact is possible and I will not deny the fact that it is, but it will reduce some realism to the story. Yes, I know we are talking about an anime about ghosts, so realism should be thrown out of the window? No, ghost hunting is just that but the mechanism and how they address their people as clients does imply a bit of commercial venture and interaction.
@laboosh: I will presume that the white light that they saw before they escaped might be Urado. However, it might be one of the victims since the white spot might indicate the spirits that have died. I guess we can never make it out.
@13sugars: Actually, it will make a lot of sense for DreamNaru to tap onto Mai. Unlike Masako, who is also a receptive type of medium, Mai is perhaps a very novice ghost hunter who has no ability to technically reject or have any pre-notions of conflicting energy. In a way, think of her as a hollow body that acts as a vacuum for an analogy. No matter how much a vacuum does suck all the dirt away, the things inside will affect whatever attempts to come from the outside.
Hence, it will make sense for Dream Naru to enter Mai since she is perhaps the only person who has little to no spiritual defence, compared to the others who can at least fend their minds off. That will also prevent the attempt by Dream Naru to enter their minds. To add on, DreamNaru is able to meet up with Masako since if she is defending herself against Urado specifically, her mental strength will be weakened, hence allowing that mental fabric to be distorted.
In that case, the medium, who is Masako, is able to receive Dream Naru.
Lastly, I found the scene of Mai getting jealous at the end for the comb incident to be extremely amusing.
Mai: Why are you holding Masako’s comb?
Naru: *looks and turns away*
Mai: Not arguing or rejecting my point?!
Bou-san: Oh oh, someone is getting shy (Naru, that is)
Madoka: Oh, so someone is actually so concerned over Masako.
John: Oh, so kind of Naru.
Yasuhara: That’s such a good thing.
Mai: NOT!
There’s too many comments that I ended up reading only a few. -_- Anyway, here’re my thoughts:
I’m leaning more and more towards Dream-Naru (DN) being a twin. As stated before, they have two different personalities, and since DN seems more friendly and outgoing, the “Naru” nickname might’ve actually started from him. ^^ (And Mai picked it up subconsciously? She is sensitive after all…)
Impz is right, in that the fact that they can’t do anything besides burn the house down adds a more realistic feel to everything. Can’t have Naru godmoding now, can we? -_-; It makes me feel kind of skittish about Urado, though. I mean, what if the house was a cage for Urado after all? It was already proven that he can’t touch anyone outside the house. Wouldn’t burning down the house free him? X( Crap, what a scary thought. But then again, his almighty tub room is gone, so there’s no place for him to bathe. o.o
I like how Mai’s power is growing, and that it’s slowly growing. Don’t want her glowing then knowing how to vanquish all evil all of a sudden. (Super Saiyan Mai! Haha! Hope I didn’t give everyone bad mental images. A muscular Mai. Geh. XP) Didn’t someone mention before that there’s a good possibility Naru kept Mai as an assistant because he recognized Mai’s abilities? Better that Naru can monitor her growth (and maybe get some use out of her at the same time ;P) than have her go rampant. Of course, this can lead to more NaruxMai situations. “No Mai, you have to do it like this.” “…Like this?” “Yes, just like that… A bit more…” Mwahahaha! (In reality: “Mai you’re like a gorilla. You need to learn control. Lin, teach her.” XP) But it is good that Mai’s growing more confident with her abilities. Besides, in life and death situations, she’d prolly do the most she can even if it’s something as “silly” as talking about her dreams. I can’t wait to see the moment Mai willingly goes to sleep with the purpose of finding out more about a case.
Why did Naru keep the comb? Let’s see… If Naru knows that DN exists, and they talk to each other in their dreams (albeit not as much as DN can talk to Mai, hence Naru not knowing where Masako is), then he’ll know to have something of Masako’s in order to have DN find her and guide them to her. That or being Dr. Davis, he’s trying to locate her himself, only Mai beat him to it. (If Naru really did have a twin, then isn’t it also possible that his twin was Dr. Davis? Seems like DN has more abilities than Naru. This would also be why they want to find out who’s been mascarading as Davis and tarnishing DN’s reputation.) And Impz, we all know you’ll only give cookies to those that say “Oh, it’s because Naru really loves Masako.” XP Nothing else can make a fanboy happy.
I really don’t think Naru feels anything resembling love towards Masako. Even Masako said so herself. Naru doesn’t like people knowing his weakness, possibly unless he told them himself. And Mai prolly gets points for not being into Naru (yet ^^). I doubt Naru’s the type to like fangirls. Plus, since Mai’s so kind to offer Masako any comfort, it makes Masako want to hate her more (although she really doesn’t).
The one thing that I really like about this episode is Mai and Masako’s relationship. (Forget Naru! Let’s go for a yuri pairing! \ ^o^ / Ehehe, jk. ^.~) Seriously, I really love the scene where Mai gives Masako her key and says “I promise I’ll come rescue you!” (or some sort) and Masako’s trust in Mai. They’ll be really good friends in the future. (Hmm… Ayako seems to have taken the role of older sister instead of the love/hate friend. Or maybe the mother role, and Bou-san’s the father? What about John? T.T John, you’re only an extra!)
Something came to me just now. Since Masako is a really good medium, and we’re assuming that DN is Naru’s twin, could she have found that out and that’s “Naru’s weakness” that she’s been talking about? I can understand why Naru would dislike her for knowing that. Twins usually have a very tightly closed relationship, forbidden to outsiders, unless one of them lets the outsider in (with permission from the other). Masako finding something like that out would put her in a very bad light. This could also be why DN was able to talk to her. Since they’ve met before, they’ve opened a connection between them that allows DN to talk to her. (Was it said before that this episode was the first time they saw each other?)
Why is everyone so surprised about Lin’s shikigami? It was revealed that he’s an onmouji right? I immediately thought “Ah, Tokyo Babylon” when I saw Lin do that. -.-
Does Naru have powers or not? He prolly does, but is not adept at controlling them (Mai: “Who’s a gorilla now? If I’m a gorilla, you’re a raging dinosaur. -_-”) and brings more harm to himself. DN (assuming he’s a twin) prolly had more control of his powers and helped a lot more with solving cases. Naru could’ve been relegated to technical support. This could be why DN died and Naru didn’t. DN was put in more danger because of his powers, and now Lin and Naru’s parents are overly protective of Naru because they don’t want him ending up like DN. Maybe.
Well. That’s all I can offer for now. More speculations added to the already heaping pile of speculations. Let’s have a potluck! \ ^o^ /
(It would prolly say: “SPAM! Please wait until the mods figure out if your comment has relevant content or is just full of SPAM! You can email them if you want, but that won’t do any good, really. XP”
Impz, I hate this comment box. -.-)
@Thirteensugars, I’m open to any and all theories on DreamNaru. I hope we get to find out by the end just what he’s all about!
@laboosh, thank you! I’ve enjoyed your insights as well. Sorry I’ve been rather busy today. Work and homelife have been hectic hehe and yes as na2niet says I have been snuggled up with my prince, its my happy place. ^-^
@LKK, the reason he still has the comb in his possession could be as simple as he never found a good time to sneak it back into her things. I don’t believe she knew he had it, and if it had not fallen out and gotten picked up, he probably would have replaced it without her knowing. He definetely didn’t want the others knowing he had I’m pretty certain on that point ^-^
As to psychometric reading, I’m not sure on how long that might take either. It could be with some that they get a flash as soon as they pick up the object, or maybe with Naru he was using it like some sort of psychic dowsing rod. That is the nearer they got to Masako the stronger the reading he would get from it. If that makes any sense.
I also agree it would be very embarrassing if one were dreaming about one’s boss. Thankfully I don’t have that problem. Considering he and hubby-sama are best friends it would be wierd. Although they do look similar actually I get teased at work that we have a thing because of that. Grrrr my heart is only for hubby-sama and hubby-sama alone. Sorry got sidetracked. I do have very vivid dreams though, they are actually quite fun, its like mini movies going off in my head every night. Although the CSI one was rather creepy and disturbing…
As for the white thing following them, it could have been Urado, or possibly perhaps a spirit, or spirits of people he had murdered. Considering they had disturbed the room their bones were being housed in, which had probably been sealed to keep them in right?
Hmm I’m partial to Lin because of his voice, but I don’t deny Naru’s yummy too! ^-^ Its funny though for all the dark haired hotties I like, I married a blonde haired blue eyed man! However I have to like Naru, because he reminds me of hubby-sama in a few respects.
@Impzy, very funny and especially nice considering the serious tone of this arc. It was nice to see Mai pull a few of her faces. ^-^
Am I the only one left who is still stubbornly clinging to the theory that Dream Naru IS Real Naru’s subconsciousness?
And I’m going to go on clinging to it, until and unless I’m proven wrong.
Regarding MadHatter saying that Dream Naru and Real Naru has totally different personalities being the basis of them being two different entities, I have to add my two cents.
I believe that Dream Naru is the other side of Real Naru, the private Naru that he doesn’t show to everyone, the Naru that he keeps inside perhaps restrain. The fact that Dream Naru is kind, gentle, caring, and concerned are ALL sides of Real Naru that he doesn’t show to other people. ie, Real Naru is also kind, gentle, caring and concerned, but he doesn’t show it and represses it in himself. Freud would call Dream Naru “Id”.
Evidence of Naru really being kind? Well, the scene where Naru and Mai fall down into the sewers is the one I have in mind. Also, the little things that Naru said during the cases that shows he is actually very concerned about people, but doesn’t (know how to?) show it.
I also believe that Dream Naru exists because of Real Naru’s powers. I hypothesize that Real Naru has powers, a lot of powers, but he doesn’t use them for some reason. In fact, he represses his powers as well. Hence Dream Naru is a manifestation of that repressed power, also exhibiting the character traits that Real Naru has repressed as well.
In short, Dream Naru is the subconscious manifestation of Naru’s power while exhibiting the traits that he does not show to the world.
Am I convincing anyone? Join my camp (with one member so far) of Dream Naru equals Real Naru!
hi Impz. may i noe where did u dl the anime with chi sub from, since i cant wait for the eng one.
thanks.
~Impz~. “Mai is perhaps a very novice ghost hunter who has no ability to technically reject or have any pre-notions of conflicting energy…Hence, it will make sense for Dream Naru to enter Mai since she is perhaps the only person who has little to no spiritual defense.
@ na2niet: yeah i read 13sugar comment, and um deffinetly gonna be happy for her and lin-san (lool), hey sugar can u ask lin if he has any brothers or cousins tht looks like him? lol, i don’t mind at all.
@ 13sugars: um with ur opinion tht its sooooo embarrassing to tell ur boss, even ur colleague, tht ur dreamin bout him (blushes)
@ DJ: in my country when someone comes from his work we say alla yateek el afia, which means( may god always give u health)^^.
i just wanna say tht i think mai knows of her feelings towards naru, bt she refuses to acknowledge them, maybe shes scared or embarrassed, bt i believe and i know tht the reveal of both naru and mais’ feelings z gonna be gr8 >
i am ashamed to call myself a fan of ghost hunt when it took me until today just to watch it! i can’t believe that i totally forgot to watch it the moment the raws came outT_T i’m feeling rather depressed at the moment to comment a lot…
altho i can say that i support i think it was @13sugars who said this but correct me if i’m wrong, that naru is dr. davis due to the fact that naru used psychometry on masako’s comb. dr. davis is known to be psychometric plus he got an honorary degree at a very young age and naru is young, smart, genius…
also i think at this point, masako would acknowledge mai’s skill as a psychic considering that they met in a dream and mai gave her that key. she might see mai as an equal more than ayako, although this doesn’t mean that their rivalry over naru would be any less. in fact i predict it’ll become even more fiery!
scanning through the pics above again, i just realized that Madoka and Yasuhara look great as a couple^_^ altho he might be too young and Lin might not be too happy about that possibility either…
@madhatter: I will think that the burning of the house will cause the whole place to be demolished and force the spirit to move on. In a way, fire seems to be the method of disposal. I guess the house is perhaps like a medium in which Urado uses to trap his victims. With the house burned down, everything is released. I am not sure though and I will like to see someone try and explain why the use of the burning house will be the way to get rid of the spirits.
About the secret being the twin, wah, you deserve a virtual cookie just for that thought. I never really expected it and you just gave me some wild ideas once again. Hmm, if so, it will make sense since it is a weakness and pain that he does not want to deal with, yet Masako knows it. Even if she does not want to exploit it, it is problematic since this power can be dangerous. I believe that Naru has intentions to hide any powers he wielded since the last time he did, Lin nearly went bonkers.
@Qiqilim: Even though 13sugars entertained your request, other people who are keen to find a download can email me instead at thatblog@gmail.com since we follow a strict policy not to discuss where “i can get this download” question. Thanks ^_^
@13sugars: The difference between Mai and Yasuhara is that Mai has an untapped source of ESP Abilities that allows us to receive messages, yet not being resistant over the attempt. Yasuhara for now shows no apparent ESP abilities and will not be logical as a means to convince others. The fact that Mai has powers that allows such thoughts to process in her head makes her a much better “victim” to tap on.
@Briar: convincing arguments but my head isn’t processing it for now due to my head being a little dizzy. It does make a bit of sense but the logic of the pained look will not be possible to incorporate and hence create another mystery. If I am a writer, I will try to focus a plot hole with a single focus, one fact that will bind everything together, yet a single piece will not tell much of the story. That will make people think and piece it up rather than having two pieces. That to me is one of the flaws in the deduction.
To end off with Madhatter’s quote.
“No Mai, you have to do it like this.
Am I the only one left who is still stubbornly clinging to the theory that Dream Naru IS Real Naru’s subconsciousness? And I’m going to go on clinging to it, until and unless I’m proven wrong.
@Briar, you aren’t alone. But there are some reasonable arguments for an against that propostion, which is probably why it seems like you are the only one.
And I did just think of another reason for it maybe not being his subconcious. For as smart and aware as Naru is I don’t think Dream Naru would be something he is unaware of if dream Naru is a part of himself. Of course that doesn’t mean that he isn’t a part of Real Naru. Maybe Naru is very aware of Dream Naru, which would be nice since that would mean he’s CHOOSING to mainly visit Mai. ^-^
@Laboosh, I know my work day would feel better sometimes if I were greeted with that. But its not all bad, hubby lets me vent my day out and if its especially bad I get a great big hug and kiss I’ll feel down to my toes. Of course when he was wooing me I’d get roses too… But his kisses beat flowers any day of the week.
@Impzy, shame on you! Everybody we need to hold an intervention. Impzy needs help, he keeps hanging on to this delusion that Naru and Masako belong together.
Mai x Naru all the way!
p.s beingmeyuki, I agree. I totally had the same thought when they were standing together. Yasuhara and Madoka are a totally cute couple. They even seem to have the same sort of humour. Given how they both like to tease! ^-^
Yasuhara and Madoka do look good as a couple, but I am definitely not alone on the Masako X Naru. Where are all the fans of the pairing when I need their support. Am I going to bow down to the evil forces of persuasion, coercion and conformist behavior?
NO, NEVER!
I will continue on and fight on! Masako x Naru!!!!!
@DJ: Well, if it’s his subconscious behavior, it will really not matter whether Naru is smart or dumb since the subconscious does mean that the conscious self has no idea that it’s actually happening. That will be a weak argument against that logic.
@Impz, nooooo Mai x Naru forever.
Ahh, I didn’t express my thoughts well.
I just meant that given the type of person Naru is I don’t think he’d be unaware of something like that within himself. But you are right, if dream Naru is part of his subconcious then his conscious self wouldn’t have a clue. Rather like me when I used to sleepwalk! ^-^
That’s it, I need some vanilla tea, my brain is too tired, its been a long week.

) I will definitely ask, Lin-sama. ^^ As for the person I’m dreaming about, he’s not my boss (I think Lkk is the one who is dreaming about her boss). I barely know who he is. I just know that I’m attracted to his writing skills and that I’m dreaming ‘bout him though it’s really annoying because I can’t seem to stop thinking ‘bout him in daytime too >_

For cryin’ out loud!
~Laboosh~ Anyway, do correct me if I’m wrong but the words you said to DJ gives me the impression that you’re Lebanese. My best friend is actually Lebanese and I’ve always thought that they’re awfully pretty people. ^^ (It’s always a shot in my ego every time we go out together. She’s like this tall-super-pretty girl and I’m like the petite-don’t-even-bother-to-look-at-handmaid or something. Lol)
~Beingmeyuki~ “i am ashamed to call myself a fan of ghost hunt when it took me until today just to watch it!
@Thirteensugars “(lol) How very true. But don’t worry. One way or another, by hook or by crook, Impz will give in. I will bet my whole sweet heart on it.”
I can only hope that you are right! They do say its the quiet ones. I bet beneath that cold exterior Lin-sama is brimming with held in passion! ^-^
“petite-don’t-even-bother-to-look-at-handmaid” Oh I felt like that all throughout highschool next to my friend who was a leggy blonde.
Turns out plenty of guys find petite irresistable too! ^-^ So don’t sell yourself short! (No pun intended).
Back on topic. About burning down the house. Pagans believe that fire has purifying properties. So burning down a place filled with spirits would cleanse it and break any residual spells. So this was probably something similar.
What episode are we on? 21? Was it said before that there will only be 26 episodes? God, I hope not. T.T That’ll be too sad. And then we might never find out who DreamNaru is.
About dreaming of co-workers, has anyone here gotten into a “romantic” mood (erm, not the platonic type of romance… I really don’t want to say it out right since it seems too vulgar… -_-) then suddenly an image of a gnarly ugly looking co-worker (say the muscular tattoed bald guy who works unassumingly in a corner) pops up in your mind and totally ruins the mood? T-T Goodbye lovely yuri scenes. Hello Mr. T. (”Kids, it’s bad to play with yourself!” Xc Dude, totally ruined everything…) Makes me celebate for days on end. Crappy images of co-workers…
Briar, I haven’t totally disregarded the DN=Naru theory just yet. I was actually thinking that Masako might’ve found out how powerful Naru really is (since Naru has the ability to go into dreams etc.) and that could also be the “weakness” that she’s talking about. But then, Naru can be kind and still have a different personality from DN. Let’s say their parents raised them to be decent human beings, it just turns out that Naru doesn’t act as friendly as DN. He could be the grumpy teddy bear type. Or a cat. Hmm… Naru’s really more like a cat, isn’t he? Aloof but fluffy. ^^
When I want to watch something or read something, I search as hard as I can, even going so far as to traverse the maze of a network that is IRC. I haven’t failed to find something, until now. There’s this one Rurouni Kenshin fanfic that I can’t find no matter how long I search. X/ It’s been frustrating me so much. Anyway, just google “Ghost Hunt ep __” and you’ll find what you need.
ThirteenSugars-san, no I don’t write fanfics. (I’ve written two CCS one-shots a long time ago, but those were borderline angst. ^^; ) I can’t seem to find the time. -_- But I do have tons of plot bunnies. They seem to be copulating under my bed and feeding on the dustbunnies, so I get an influx of ideas for fanfics. I’ve even got a fic idea for La Corda D’Oro, and it promises to be a very good romance/drama one. If only I can get my lazy bum to start writing… Thank you very much for the compliment, though. It made me really happy. (Yes, this is how depraved I am. -_-) I don’t know about writing comedy. I can’t write something funny consciously. ^^;; Most of the time, I mean to be sarcastic, but people start laughing instead. (This happens IRL so much, it boggles my mind. My older sister just pats me on the head and continues laughing. -.-)
I posted in episode 20 that Mai’s not the type to indulge in crushes. Despite her looks, she is actually very practical. (Supporting yourself at that age and still go to school is not easy. I know.) This is what I meant when I said she’s not into Naru yet. (Don’t believe me. I was high at the time from the cold/sniffles/headache I had. I’m just trying to squeeze my way out of this. ^^;) But Mai is the stubborn type, so I agree with what you said about Mai’s Freudian twisting. (I’m high again, so please ignore whatever nonsense I spout.) She’d prolly deny being in love with Naru until the very end. Hmm… Fanfic idea? The plot bunnies seem to be satisfied with the anime as it is. ‘Sides, I can’t imagine what the future would be like for Naru-tachi.
Frankly speaking, I don’t really much like the side of Mai that’s so fickly with her feelings for Naru. How can you be angry at someone who pays attention at another person when you’re not even acknowledging that you like them? But then again, feelings are very complicated so I’m cutting Mai some slack. (Nope, Masako’s still not suited for Naru. XP Sorry Impz.)
Beingmeyuki, I think Masako has acknowledged Mai as an equal even before (the Kokkuri-san ep, I think). It’s just that now, Masako put some trust in Mai, and they were more like friends than ever before. And proud as Masako is, I don’t think she ever considered Ayako an equal. ^^;;; A colleague maybe. But then again, they have two very different abilities, so mayhaps there was no such thing as “considering equal” at all.
MadokaxYasuhara sounds really good. ^^ I doubt Madoka’s the type to mind age differences. And sometimes, same attitudes make a relationship better. Although… AyakoxBou-san!!! Don’t their fights just scream pent-up lust? I can do a one-shot for those two, definitely. XD (Erm, Lemon anyone? But then again, I have too much La Blue Girl in my mind right now for it to be a nice romantic fanfic. It’s all those monsters, I tell you.) Hmm… Or a YasuharaxMaixNaru fic? I don’t know about Lin… He doesn’t like Japanese, right? Lin can be 13sugars-san’s instead. ^^
Impz, didn’t Naru say that they weren’t spirits so much as demons? If I was Urado, burning down my tub room would piss me off very much. I’d hold on even more, and not pass on. But then again, you said “force the spirit to move on” so if they’re forced, then I guess they can’t do anything about it, can they? DJ-san’s post made me feel safe, though. (Haha, Grudge!Urado will come get you! But seriously, doesn’t it feel somewhat like that? Except, instead of hate, it’s greed for life.) I got the virtual cookie! Yay! \ ^o^ / Cookie monster was my second favorite, right below Oscar the grouch.
Masako and Naru are both too proud to have a “learning” session. XP (Okay, reality would prolly be like this: “Mai you’re doing it wrong. Look at how Hara-san does it. …Hara-san, don’t do it too much. You’re missing the point entirely.” … “Lin, take over. I have a headache. -_-”)
Will you eventually give in, Impz? O.o Hmm. I doubt it. Fanboys are known to be stubborn. The only thing that will make you admit defeat is… when you’re faced with the truth! Mwahaha! ^o^ / NaruxMai will be cannon! (…Or the anime and manga will end up with zero pairings. X/ Hate when that happens.)
I have a question about Urado’s henchmen. How did he keep them with him? Was it a curse put on them, or did they actually like killing people as well?
Also, does anyone find the manga scary at all? Another reason why I like the anime is that the bgm allows the story to be as scary as it can be. Although, there is one manga that achieved a level of scariness. Dawn Tsumetai Te can be pretty creepy at some points. (Creepier than Ghost Hunt, definitely. But that’s prolly because there’s no comedy at all.)
That’s it for now. Let me add to Impz’ dizziness with more comments. ^^ (I’m dizzy now too…)
@ MadHatter : “I have a question about Urado’s henchmen. How did he keep them with him? Was it a curse put on them, or did they actually like killing people as well?”
If I understand things correctly, Urado’s 2 henchmen were the only servants who worked at the mansion for several years. I think there’s a comment made how the rest of the staff changed frequently but those two were consistent.
From that, I figure that they were helping Urado willingly. And most likely because they enjoyed helping with the murders, not just because they were being paid to do it. After their deaths, they kept on helping.
@Lkk: I was about to say the same thing to MadHatter before you gave the same answer that I wanted to say. I like to add that they might also have been promised of eternal life by Urado as well, which is perhaps why they are still around to do his bidding. Whatever it is, the two servants are perhaps as disturbing as Urado. The quest for eternal life generally leads to mere suffering. Humans are never meant to live forever.
@13sugars: I know of many guys who will think that tall women are rather intimidating. Petite girls are nice
@Madhatter: I wouldn’t say that Masako and Mai’s powers are very different. They might go through a different style, but the output is definitely the exact same way. It’s like doing two things in a different way but still in the same job scope, unlike the others whose specialization is clearly different from receptiveness and the likes.
Impz says: “@Briar: convincing arguments but my head isn’t processing it for now due to my head being a little dizzy. It does make a bit of sense but the logic of the pained look will not be possible to incorporate and hence create another mystery. …
Impz, can you explain what you are saying? I think my brain has been fried, because I just didn’t understand what you are saying. *embarrassed*
If someone can gather all the evidence/hypothesis of Dream Naru = Real Naru, I’ll get to work rebutting/making roadblocks immediately.
I just don’t like the idea of Mai being in love/infatuation with two person at the same time. You know in Ouran High School Host Club, how Hikaru and Kaoru played a trick on some girl who was expressing her love for one of the twins (I forgot which)? It just seems to me that it’s important to establish twins as individual entities, even though they look the same. Otherwise we will be like that girl who didn’t really care which twin she wants.
I do have another question. In the preview for next week’s episode, it’s said that the next episode is the next story arc of the house thing. But on wiki it says that the next episode is a (filler?) episode called “Go Go Go Ghost Hunters” or something like that. Which is it, exactly?
“In the preview for next week’s episode, it’s said that the next episode is the next story arc of the house thing. But on wiki it says that the next episode is a (filler?) episode called “Go Go Go Ghost Hunters
The next episode is “Go Go Go Ghost Hunters, and then File #9 Cursed House will start.
Wah, it marks the beginning of the end. (pout)
Madhatter, I’m glad my post made you feel safe. ^-^
Well, DJ, I am not sure whether it is go go go ghost hunters since the next week’s preview is File #8 cursed house. They might have omitted the go go go hunters episode for some other purpose. No idea though =3
@beingmeiyuki: Agreed, I am surprised how she has such a good view of things because I don’t think I have that form of special ability to. My brain tends to stop thinking after a while, which is always the case ;_;
Sigh ^+^
@Impz, well I guess all we can do is wait and see. Though the wait is torture!
And I have to agree with you both on ThirteenSugars, I always look forward to her posts.
*Just to make you blush even more ThirteenSugars, you just sound so cute!*
Impz, when I said maybe there wasn’t even a “considering as an equal” thing for Masako, I was talking about Masako seeing Ayako as an equal.
Hmm. I think Masako’s ability has more to do with sensing spirits, a very specific ability. Mai’s is a broader type of sensitivity. Godmode!Mai! Hah. ^^;
X/ Only 26 eps? They better be making more. It’s hard to make a fanfic of Ghost Hunt since we’re not really just after the characters and their relationships. Prolly why I’ve never had any idea for a multi-chapter fic. There’s no such thing as a purely romance fic for GH. There has to be the scare factor as well. Geh. Now what will I watch after this? Even Corda’s about to end too. (But that I can stem with HinoXLen daydreams. Nyahaha!)
Wonder what they’ll have for the ending? It’ll be pretty crappy if they really are ending it with only 26 eps. Since it’s pretty much been a “case of the day” type of anime, there wouldn’t be any closure for the characters, would there? There wasn’t even much of a build up for entire-story-plot, and since Urado-Arc has been really great, if they show a filler next, that’ll just kill the momentum of the anime. Although, they might just use the last couple of episodes for an arc that will totally leave us wanting for more. (Anyone who wants to see Naru use his power, raise their hand!)
~Briar~ I really doubt that Mai is infatuated with DreamNaru at all. The nice DreamNaru probably gives Mai hope, or a glimpe, that maybe RealNaru is not as aloof or as calculating as he presents himself to be to most people, including her, though we, Mai in her heart as well, know RealNaru isn’t like that at all. As far as I can tell, Mai has always been attracted to the RealNaru only, though she is struggling to completely acknowledge her feelings for him, and I actually think that DreamNaru makes Mai more attracted to RealNaru by not letting her forget that she doesn’t really know RealNaru very well yet; that Naru has a sweet and nice side un-shown to other, and that RealNaru could just be protecting his heart by being distant to others. ^^
An example would be, if I asked a question to the writer I have a crush on and he answers me with only a short reply then later on I’d dreamed that he answered my question and included a compliment and a little bit about himself, then I’m definitely going to like him more when I wake up ^^. (Hmmm, my example may not make sense to others…)
Either way, it’s always nice to read your different insight in giving support to the Mai x Naru love-love pairing supporter.
Anyway, about the next episode, someone actually told me that the Ghost Hunt episodes were cut from 26 to 25 though I’m not really sure. But when I found out about this tidbit, it actually made me feel a bit murderous. (sighs)
~DJ & Impz~ (lol) You people are very sweet, but truthfully, I like myself being petite. Only thing is, most petite girls are petite everywhere (coughflatcough)and I fall under that category
. But I guess that fact is actually good since I’m not really interested in attracting anyone at all. ^^ As I’ve also mentioned before, I’m not really fond of standing out too much. ^^
~Madhatter~ (raises both hands up) I wanna see that!
“Although… AyakoxBou-san!!! Don’t their fights just scream pent-up lust?
Thanks 13sugars. Yeah, about that half-asian thing, I thought about it while writing. Actually I guess I didn’t mention it afraid Mai had said something about it. I have a really bad memory… ¬¬’
One thing I wonder, every case Naru gets, or at least the most important ones, we get to see John and the rest of the guys there too. Yeah sometimes they’re called to it but not everyone right? I know once John brought them to that church… But just that occasion(Is it correct? The way I wrote it? I’m Brazilian… Hence the name. I don’t like my name, although I thing 13sugars is weirder. Hahaha! I imagine what a person might give you for birthday. A 14th sugar? ….I’m so stupid. And off topic!). So… who calls all of them?
C ya.
~Bruna~ I think Naru calls for all of them, or rather, he orders Mai to call them to help SPR solve each case. The reason that sometimes not all of them appear is because the others (Bou-san, Ayako, Masako, John and now probably Yasuhara too) aren’t full-time ghost-hunters like Naru and Lin are, probably Mai as well but she is Naru’s part-time go-get assistant. ^^
Helping out SPR solve its cases are what the other ghost-hunters do in their free-time. That is how I understood things from the anime. ^^
OFF-TOPIC COMMENT
As for your name, I didn’t find it weird, incorrect or anything when I first saw it. I just thought that there’s a new commentor here again which is definitely a good thing ^^. Anyway, you are right. I guess the ThirttenSugars-name might seem weird to others (lol). But there was someone here who actually guessed correctly which anime I referenced it from. I think it was Psychicotaku182. As for birthday gifts, you just reminded me of my upcoming b-day on May. Can’t believe time flies by so fast. (sighs) And although I don’t really receive sugars as gifts, I do usually receive sweet things and gestures. ^^ I’m not really a hard-to-please person. (lol)
END OF OFF-TOPIC COMMENT
13sugars: Actually we never designated Impz as a trap, it’s all the other animebloggers who have never seen that did so.
Then I stand corrected. ^^ (I only used that question to divert the spotlight away from me.
I meant no offense. ^^)

Okay, I don’t really have much to add that hasn’t already been discussed, but…
@achickenpasseth (in regard to mai tapping into masako’s vision): I think that’s actually not the case. In the episode where they both witnessed Sakauchi-kun being swallowed by the dark spirit, Masako had previously mentioned that she couldn’t see any of the spirits, only sense them, and that her sensing of Sakauchi-kun was the strongest. As for her collapsing, she probably /felt/ Sakauchi-kun’s demise, but there’s no evidence that she would suddenly gain the ability to see things like what Mai experiences when she was having issues of it before. The vision occured between Mai and Masako after Mai touched masako. My theory is that Mai is a receptive empath, as you’ve said, and she ‘boosted’ Masako’s ability, which allowed them both to have the same vision. Basically, her physically touching Masako allowed mai to see what was making masako sick.
as for the dream naru thing, I think that dream naru is most likely naru’s ability manifesting itself in a connection with Mai. He more than likely is able to sense things subconciously in what’s going on around him, and is able to inform mai of it through that mental connection. Kind of like…telepathy.
Also, for the Dr. Davis being Naru theory…I actually think Dr. Davis is probably one of Naru’s parents. Considering what Lin said about ‘the professor’ being the reason he was there. Naru may be only half or partially japanese.
eh, it’s just a theory. No comment on the comb thing except that he was probably trying to get a reading from it, but Mai beat him to it. XD. Or he did get a reading, but Mai’s ‘telepathic’ connection allowed her to pick up the answer before it filtered to his conscious mind.
I support the twin brother theory. However, I also think/agree that Real Naru has got some psychic ability that he does not realise (or he may have hidden it I’m not sure). Otherwise, how could the assumed twin brother, not knowing the existence of Mai beforehand, enter Mai’s dreams? Thus I think that the twin brother is able to ‘connect’ to Real Naru, thus found out about Mai’s psychic ability and enter her dreams.
And about the Masako x Naru thing, I also don’t think that there’s something between the two of them. Additionally, I also don’t think that there’s something between him and Mai. He is apparently closer to Mai or he simply likes Mai more than the rest since he calls her by her real name, but I don’t think there is LOVE between them =)
Sorry, I mean he calls her by her first name not surname.
@ jen chan i agree with u tht theres nothing between naru and masako, bt i have to disagree with u on the point tht theres nothin between him and mai, its clear tht he feels somethin for her, i mean common did u c the look tht he gave her in ep.17 believe me no one can get a smile like tht from him accept if he was soooooooo special to him and has a place n his heart, naruXmsi forever^^
@Jen-chan:…Wahaha, on the really honest level, I doubt there is any form of love between Naru and Mai, or Masako and Naru (as much as I wish for it to be). It is just like a fanboy/fangirl/fanIT fantasy for the likes of us, so it’s mostly a pseudo or one-sided love affair for the girls.
I mean, if Naru suddenly kisses Mai, it will be as blasphemous like how Ayu kissed Yuuichi in episode 19 (which still annoys me about the pacing). Yes, I have brought my evil “realism stick” into the picture here.
*runs from everyone*
@Laboosh: Good luck with your job application. That reminds me that I have to start looking too very soon. Sigh ^+^
hahahahaha!! i think i prefer reading comments than commenting. everyone’s so funny.
anyways, i figure dr-naru merely warns people of dangers ahead and stuff. i mean, all he ever says mostly is “be careful” or “wake up its not safe here” or “its going to be ok”. he doesnt reveal info per se. i think mai could probably see ghostly phenomenons in her dream with or without dr-naru, as proven by ep20. oh and the sakauchi thing. which is why mai would know certain things naru doesnt.
having said that, dr-naru prolly visits naru, too. haha dr-naru probably tells naru how his friends are in danger too!
which is why he always so CONVENIENTLY appears whenever mai’s in trouble.
and CATxLIN. waaaahahahahahahahahhahaha.
@impz: lol okay i got an ally here
@laboosh: yes i remembered the smile =) but as I said, that’s because he probably likes Mai more than the other girls, or he felt that Mai is really a nice and kind person. Love is something more than that. And Naru, as I believe, is a kind person. So even if Masako is the one that fell into the hole (remember that awful classroom episode), he will still save her.
OFF TOPIC
@ThirteenSugars, Much as I hate sugar in my tea, if Abel was serving it, I would for certain drink it. ^-^ Scarily I also think he’s yummy when he goes all Crusnik.
Its that long white hair, I’m a sucker for it. Hence my love of InuYasha and Sesshoumaru.
My friend even made me dolls of them.
And even though the Sesshoumaru one is almost the same height as me, I enjoy being petite too.
There’s something cute about having to reach up on tip toes to kiss the one you love. (If I guessed the anime wrong then just ignore me!)
Ooh what date? My mothers birthday is in May too.
Laboosh, Ganbatte! I hope it all goes well. And thank you, I love reading your comments as well.
I agree that Naru would more than likely get Mai to call them in. I don’t think he’d want to deal with it himself so it seems like something he designate her to do. Since she’s an assistant an all.
And as much as I want to see it I’m pretty damn sure myself we aren’t going to see any sort of a romantic resolution. And as much as I want the pairing, much like SaiMo it’ll be better if they don’t show Naru and Mai sharing a kiss, or declaring their undying love for one another. Much like Ryuyki and Shuurei from SaiMo.
It would just go against Naru’s character for starters and it would be too rushed. There is something between them. Naru has softened towards her quite a bit I would say. Although he’s liked something about her from the start, because he’s teased her pretty much since the beginning. He was maybe impressed with her not fangirling him the first time they met. He just seems more comfortable around her than he does Masako. But I would have to agree what he feels isn’t quite love I don’t think. At least not yet!
Mai likes him, but doesn’t really want to admit it. But I think it has a way to go before that develops into love I would say.
OFF TOPIC END.
@Cat: Cat x Lin? I … worry for your safety in which you might be lynched with a rather rough treatment with the evil and rabid Lin fans around. Hmmm, or will it?
@Hikaru: I actually believe that Dr Davis is in fact Naru’s parents, simply due to an episode that relates first the professor (Dr Davis, hint?) and then his parents worrying. I just had that feeling that the two are the same.
@Jen-chan: And i was wondering about why Naru fails so badly at girls. If he is a little more slick, he might have tons of chicks flocking at him. Not that he hasn’t gotten most of the gals here going googoogaga over him. Hah!
@Impz, I don’t think he fails badly at girls. Remember the first ep? He practically had those girls eating out of his hand. I think he could easily pull if he wanted, judging from the first ep, he’s actually quite adept at manipulating the opposite sex based on his looks, if he so wanted.
That’s just not what he’s after. LOL and that of course is what makes him so irresistable, his aloof nature. Much like Lin-san.
@Cat, run, run now! You’ll have to fight 13sugars for Lin-san. As sweet as she is I think she might prove to be quite fierce in a fight for Lin-san.
Wow. this arc was really really good. thank god i watched this episode during the day though. i think that dream naru is a manifestation of naru’s powers. naru probably carried around masako’s comb for a reason. since dream naru has never shown up in anyone’s dreams except mai’s, it seems odd that he would suddenly appear to masako. naru probably needed something of masako’s to contact her. something like dr. davis?
maixnaru all the way!!
@jen-chan, I think you have a few allies, the only love that exists in this series right now is in most of our hopeful minds. The realists in us realise it isn’t going to be, but we can dream of a Mai x Naru romance ^-^
@Saiichi, yay for more Mai x Naru supporters.
~Hikaru maxwell~ “Masako had previously mentioned that she couldn’t see any of the spirits.
OFF-TOPIC COMMENT
(I missed this)
~DJ~ Crusnik Abel is a treat though I think Crusnik Cain looks more yummylicious! (lol) And yes, like you, I’m also enslaved by the long-white-haired bishies out there. ^^
And yes, my nickname came from Trinity Blood; Abel’s fondness for thirteen sugars in almost all of his drinks.
Oh! I find that very adorable too! When guys would have to lean down a bit and petite girls would have to strain up a little on tip-toes, when two people would have to make the half-ways effort that needs to meet for a kiss. It is very charming. ^^
As for the shameless Lin-fangirl in me, I’d prefer to be sitting on Lin-sama’s lap when we finally make the half-ways effort needed for a kiss…Kyaaa!!! (lol, forgive my provocative imagination.)
END OF OFF-TOPIC COMMENT
“~Extrange~ I believe that the DreamNaru-is-RealNaru’s dead twin/brother speculation has been going on for some time now.”
heehee yes, and if I’m not mistaken, it was started last week by yours truly
reading comments from others though, especially from the manga readers (I think) I’m starting to have doubts about my theory…Seeing how the series is ending soon with only ONE MORE case to go, I’d be sooooooooooooo disappointed if nothing is revealed by the end, and they don’t plan for a second season.
Just out of curiousity, did they clear the air in the manga? Since someone mentioned it was on hiatus =’(. I’m just curious as to whether they’ve given thorough background information to each main characters, such as the abilities of Ayako, Naru’s identity, a definite romantic pairing, etc.
and WOW, I didn’t come for how many days? Now there are 116 comments for this one entry!!!!!!!!!!
The power of Impz!!! See how much we love you? =)
good lord 116 comments so far!! Im so lost at what my last comment was XD
Oh and the whole thing about Naru being of mixed blood, is it not strange that no one’s noticed at all? I mean, from what I have seen in real life, and I believe I’ve seen plenty, when someone is a mix of asian and caucasian, you can definitely tell. Especially since in all the anime series that I’ve seen, it doesn’t matter if a character has blonde/yellow hair or not, but if you are of mixed blood, someone will surely point it out in the show not long after meeting you.
So I’d think it’d be really weird if it turns out that Naru is half Japanese and half English.
man…so many comments, it’s taking forever to read them all. So I’m kinda commenting as I read
I disagree with what a couple of people had suggested, that Masako knows that dreamNaru is Naru’s twin, and that’s his weakness. While the whole twin thing might be Naru’s weakness, and maybe, just maybe Masako knows of the existence of this other person, but she definitely does not know that DreamNaru is the other twin. I think it’s pretty obvious from this episode, since when Mai came to Masako in the dream, Masako told Mai that *Naru* was there with her the whole time, and *Naru* smiled. I guess some would think that she is deliberately saying “Naru” to hide the “weakness” from other people, but I doubt at that moment, being so shaken with fear, Masako would be able to think about “hiding the truth”. Also the way how she said “Naru” was smiling, she sounded happy, like the person she likes (which is the real Naru, not the twin) is showing her kindness, it’s almost like she saw the light.
“I was actually thinking that Masako might’ve found out how powerful Naru really is (since Naru has the ability to go into dreams etc.) and that could also be the “weakness
cont. from above (I got cut off again
)
@MadHatter – I think that part of your theory is quite possible
. I think it’s either that, or she knows of his real identity and that of his parents. Or, like what’s-her-name said in this episode, Naru ran away from home (not necessarily eloping w/ Lin…since I do believe Naru’s heart belongs with Mai
eek, AGAIN???
but I’ve learned! I always control+c whatever I type down before clicking “Submit Comment” nowadays, just in case.
cont. from above
), and Masako knows about it.
Also, I think someone mentioned that Naru’s twin might not be dead, just suffers from a terminal illness. I think that’s a really interesting way of explaining things, and it definitely makes sense. But honestly, I’d rather have him dead than having him suffer throughout this series.
poor thing.
And regarding the comments (maybe from the comments for the last episode’s entry?) that oppose the DreamNaru = Naru’s twin idea, saying how he could’ve appeared to Naru instead of Mai, I believe it’s because Naru does not have the psychic ability that Mai does. I really don’t know what it’s called, since I never took note to actually memorize all the terminology from GH (I am ashamed of myself), but I believe that’s why he’s appeared only to Mai and Masako.
Although I’d like to think that DreamNaru appeared mostly to Mai because he knows his twin is secretly in love w/ this girl, blah blah blah, but I believe the more logical explanation would be that he’s just there to protect Naru mostly, and to help him and his acquaintances. Mai, as we have seen from the previous and current episodes, has the strongest power of sensing things, eventhough Masako is supposed to be the pro here, so it’s only nature he appeared only to Mai at first.
But I think overtime, Mai and DreamNaru probably will, or have already developed feelings for each other, Mai just doesn’t know that the other person really exists, so she thought she really fell for the next closest thing — Naru.
~Ohpive~ I know what you mean. ^^ Heck, I wasn’t here for 12 hours on whatever day it was and there was more than 40 comments already. Be that as it may, I still go through everyone’s, yes every single one, comments too because I don’t want to miss a thing of what all the commentators said, whether it is silly, not-so-silly, personal or not-so-personal. Not only are these comments great but I also think they deserve to be read. After all, the commentors (including me as I’m also a commentor here ^^) took the time to type and share their own thoughts. I’m certain many here will agree with me on this one as well.
But the best reason is that it is so much fun! ^^ I guess that might be the compensation Impz gets every time he gets dizzy after reading tons of comments to his GH entries.
“from what I have seen in real life, and I believe I’ve seen plenty, when someone is a mix of asian and caucasian, you can definitely tell.
13sugars – OFF TOPIC. Thanks for the answer. About the name, I got it first time I read. I was just kidding with yours. And I read later that it came from Bloodtrinity, I saw an episode of it, it’s amazing. And the 13 sugars guy, I forgot his name as usual, his appearance reminds me of a friend. So weird when this happens. You start thinking about your friend doing everything they do, and sometimes it’s VERY weird.

Now I’ve been reading stuff about Naru thinking Mai or Masako are hot. Hahahahaha! Sorry. Been reading about romances between them (I don’t include in this Mai with Masako!!). Well, about Naru and Mai… I don’t think he likes her in a girlfriend/boyfriend way. But I do think he likes her… I think she’s his favorite. Not that he’s the kind of person “Mary is my best friend in the whole world! *Writing in the journal*” Hahaha. But he feels better around her… That’s why, in some level, he asked her to work with him.
About Naru and Masako… Seriously, I think he goes out with her because her dad is sponsoring him. Didn’t they mention that she had a rich father, or something like that? It’s just a guess, but she found him cute so asked her dad to sponsor him. If he is rude and ironic with her, he might lose money. That’s why he accepted to go out with her and Mai found that so strange. I haven’t seen this episode yet, so maybe that comb thing will change my theories. Although I don’t think so…
C. U. All
PS. Jesus, in my language “cu” means “asshole”… I won’t write it again. ó.ò
once again everytime i visit, the comments pile up!:p
“~Beingmeyuki~ I meant to say, “You, DJ and Impz give me too much credit.
Saiichi says: “i think that dream naru is a manifestation of naru’s powers. ”
Yes, finally someone who has the same view of Dream Naru as me! Saiichi, wanna join my club of (so far one member) Dream Naru = Real Naru?
13sugars says: “And for some reason, I always seem to confuse others with what Briar’s statements were. ^^ ”
Huh? *blinks*
Ohpive says: “Masako would be able to think about “hiding the truth
“the most comforting Naru came to was when he asked Mai if she was okay after she had that nightmare. i thought that was one of his sweetest moments, aside from his rare smile^_^ Lin had a rare smile in this episode too if i recall correctly:)”
There are quite a few of sweet moments! My personal favourite is the one in the arc with the cursed chair in the school where the culprit was the teacher. I’m always mentioning it.
It’s when Naru tried to save Mai from falling into the tunnels, and when he couldn’t, tried to cheer her up/distract her with magic tricks. I truly can’t imagine him doing the same for Masako. Or John. Or Ayako. Or even Lin.
Then there’s the way he moved in front of Mai as if to protect her when the ghost appeared (when they were in the tunnels). There’s the way he protected Mai from the collapsing ceiling. There’s the way he teased Mai on one hand and always putting her safety first on the other.
Real Naru can be as sweet, or sweeter, than Dream Naru.
beingmeyuki – Yeah I forgot about this secret Masako knows, I read about it in a forum or something. Man I have to watch this episode soon. Maybe that’s the reason she can blackmail him. Most likely to be, as a matter of fact.
___________
Briar, I agree with what you said about Naru and Mai. She’s the one he feels comfortable with, not in a boyfriend love way. Yet. Who knows, right? I’m not the kind of person that cheers for couples… I like characters. And if Dream Naru is Naru’s twin brother, well I prefer Naru anyway. Maybe because I know that he has his convictions… But it’s not for everyone to be a part of that. So he is true to himself and others. I don’t think I like people that are too nice, they seem to fake it, hide things inside of them and act as these things didn’t exist. Ahn… Anyways!
Mai started having a crush on Naru after she saw the Dream Naru, right? Again my bad memory.
Mai has a crush on Naru at the first glance. You could call it crush at first sight.
Well ok… maybe not. It’s more of a crush at second sight, because at the first sight she was thinking that Naru’s eyes aren’t smiling although his face is smiling; but right from the start she thinks that Naru is really handsome.
Despite what I wrote up there, I still think there’s a lot of potential between Mai and Naru. After all, relationships are based as much on trust and friendship as on love. In fact, I can’t say what Naru has for Mai is purely friendship or trust or whatever. Who knows, he may already be liking Mai in the eros way, but he doesn’t realize it, so we as the viewers don’t know either.
@ ohphive : “Just out of curiousity, did they clear the air in the manga? Since someone mentioned it was on hiatus =’(. I’m just curious as to whether they’ve given thorough background information to each main characters, such as the abilities of Ayako, Naru’s identity, a definite romantic pairing, etc.”
I suppose this constitutes something of a spoiler, but since I’ve talked about it elsewhere (AnimeSuki), I guess it’s okay to say it here. The manga has not yet cleared the air as you put it. The manga has halted (hopefully temporarily) one investigation short of telling you most of the answers to the mysteries concerning Naru.
@Briar, thanks for bringing up those other sweet moments^_^ as i said earlier in my post, the one where Naru brought tea was just “one” of his sweet moments^_^
“beingmeyuki – Yeah I forgot about this secret Masako knows, I read about it in a forum or something. Man I have to watch this episode soon. Maybe that’s the reason she can blackmail him. Most likely to be, as a matter of fact.”
@Bruna: i wish i knew what this secret is. if you happen to remember,do share it with us:)
“Mai has a crush on Naru at the first glance. You could call it crush at first sight.

”
i recall vaguely that Mai already thought that Naru was cute, the first time she met him. but i don’t think it was a full blown crush yet. it developed when she started hanging around him and saw dream naru as well. they do seem to have potential. but i don’t know if Naru ever considered the possibility of a relationship with anyone. he seems obsessed with work:p but i agree that he seems to care/worry about mai more than others…
heeeeeeeeeeeeyyyy um back from work.love it,love it^^
at the same time um dead tierd, didn’t eat anything the whole day, bt who cares.
and sugar no theres no handsome boss tht i can dream of, bt there’s a handsome Colleague ^^ so who knows(lol) naaa j/k.
and briar ur on the track, loved ur comment bout naruXmai
bt i thnk tht he loves/goin to love her in his own way
just hopin to show it more b4 the season ends o_O
hey guys um downloading the translated GH, ep.21 ^^ (hip hip horaaaay)
I’m happy to say that I was wrong about the manga stopping one story before the Naru secrets are revealed. Word has just broken in the GH manga fandom that manga volume 10 (the next story) is scheduled for Japanese release in April. You have no idea how happy that makes me. It’s been over a year since volume 9 came out and word is that the mangaka has been ill. I seriously doubted that there the next story would ever come out in manga.
@LKK, YAY! That is happy news! When I read your earlier post I was very disheartened. But I do hope the mangaka isn’t seriously ill.
Wow, as fun as it has been speculating about everything, for you manga readers to have waited a year before seeing any kind of resolution must have been sheer torture. Ah I hope they give the anime a good resolution.
*Hopes ferverently that they do*
Hmm still need to get my hands on the manga myself. LOL though at this point the anime will be well over by the time I do.
@laboosh: thanks for the compliment =) btw do you have any idea where to get the eng sub for ep 21?
@13sugars: bwaaahahahahahaha *waves catxlin banner*
hahaha and i just had thought of smth. you know what would be cool? if naru has a dream-mai visiting him. hurhurhur.
“hahaha and i just had thought of smth. you know what would be cool? if naru has a dream-mai visiting him. hurhurhur.”
@Cat, now THAT would be very interesting. ^-^
@ cat go to baka-updates.com then u choose releases. its all there,wt ever u want either anime or manga,i download all the anime from there. happy wathch^^
and imagining tht naru dreams of mai, hmm, not a bad idea at alllll, loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooollll
c ya
soryy have a nice watch^^
I honestly think dream naru is just a guardian spirit. IT takes Naru’s form bwcause Mai likes Naru. Mai was worried about MAsako so it went to comfort her. Remember that Lin has bound demons. Mai just has a helpful spirit.
What this says is that Mai is indeed, very powerful.
And I always wait for an arc to be completely out before watching. And this one scared the bejesus out of me. I think each arc is scarier than the last. The next one will have me hiding under my bed for days.
Wow…just finished watching this episode and there are no better series airing right now than Ghosthunt…. I’m of the opinion that Naru has powers that he is not letting on…. like bending spoons a while back, then performing a “fake” version later to throw everyone off… He probably needed Masako’s item to connect to her in Dream state… if that’s so , what of Mai’s does he always keep on his person? This series needs multiple seasons…. it just to great.
Heh, I was so happy reading everyone’s comments that I didn’t reply at all. However, I do agree on Briar, DJ and 13sugars on various things during the past few comments.
@Soavifox: I believe that the last arc might be just the best and I do wonder if the manifestation is really due to Mai. I got a feeling now after the speculation by 13sugars and Briar that the Dream Naru is in fact not caused by Mai but received by Mai. There’s no alteration of visual reality on her.
@Voodoomage: Hmm, Naru is definitely a mysterious person. However, I doubt that there will be any 2nd season for it due to the fact that they do not have any more material for the manga. The last arc will end just where the manga did. Sigh. Here’s to hoping.
^-^ forgive me minna, i normally don’t look for romance in an anime lol
but if i must pick, i’d really prefer naru x mai pairing, and yes i’d go crazy if naru kisses masako, but still it’s hard for me to imagine him kissing mai, maybe hugging her but .. x.x
i am now very much looking forward to The Cursed House. I wonder what sort of storyline will they come up with this time round =) i know they don’t have any more materials for 2nd season but .. who knows?! *blinks*
Hmm maybe when the manga ends we could get a nice feature length OAV or something.
I think I would rather see that, than see it continue on for another season of fillers, if it has proved popular enough to warrant another season.
Ugh the word ‘fillers’ just makes me shudder.
I know we all love it, but does anybody know what ratings it’s getting in Japan?
@ dj: well i dnt knw if tht’s help, bt u but go and check http://www.animenewsnetwork.com and u can c the rating, bt um not sure^^
@DJ: Ok, I am not sure if I got it right but these are the ratings for Ghost hunt that is shown at 2500 hours. It’s doing quite well as a late night anime series actually. The word here though is “quite well”. Shows like Nodame Cantabile and Desu Note are trouncing it. Digikerot from Beta-Waffle also informed me that Ghost Hunt isn’t selling very well on DVD.
[DiGiKerot] Its not even making the top 20 anime DVDs on release week
January 9 = 1.8
January 16 = 2.1
January 30 = 0.9
February 13th = 2.2
Source is from this geocity website that collates these data
Maybe it’s just us westerners that love it so much…. maybe we are the minority, as much as I love Kanon and DeathNote…. Ghosthunt is far more satisfying to me….
Hmm then considering the dvd sales and the fact a few other animes are trouncing it, we probably won’t see a second season.
Maybe they have decided not to bother with the filler episode too for that reason.
(Pout)
Ah well, you may be right Voodoomage. Another anime that seemed to go pretty well over here but not so well over there was Samurai Champloo. I personally really liked it and wished we could have seen more, but alas I guess it didn’t fare too well over there.
Meh, goes to show if you don’t have enough marketing these days, that’s it for you. -.-
Sad but true I guess.
I wonder if the same thing happened with Trinity Blood. I heard it got cut from 26 episodes to 24. It would kind of make sense, because it seemed like they tried to condense a lot into the last episode, and well I was pretty disappointed.
If I hadn’t have read up on the novels and so had background as to what was happening, I totally would have been confused as to what was going on.
So I hope we get a clear cut ending for Ghost Hunt.
Keh, this is the anime world I’m talking about. I should know by now your not always guaranteed a nice neat ending! ^-^
hey guys um at work , cnt wait for ep.22 tom.
@ DJ: yeah um with u, its gonna be really sad not having a clear ending for GH, well from wt i saw, the anime GH z more popular than the manga, and its not even in the top 50 o_O’, yeah i know a big shock.
anyways lets just hope tht they will mwke a second season, although its really a long shot.
oops o_O make a second season, sorry
Dear all, Ghost Hunt is not an anime that only the westerners like it. For one thing, I’m an asian and I love Ghost Hunt as much as every other westerners out there =D
Maybe it’s just not popular in Japan that’s all =)
@Jen-chan: Asian here too and I am sure that it is probably a mixture of weak advertising stratagems, a lack of exposure, no fan coverage and lack of interest among Japanese fans toward horror genre shows. I guess the many horror flicks that they churn out like a factory has decreased the popularity of the horror genre.
@Laboosh: it will be an extremely long shot and I am hardly an idealist in things, so I believe it will be almost impossible for it to have a second season.
@ laboosh : “well from wt i saw, the anime GH z more popular than the manga”
I won’t speculate on how popular or unpopular the GH anime is in Japan. However, I know that the manga is popular there. When volume 9 was released there in 2006, it spent a couple weeks in the Top Ten Best-selling Manga list. I remember seeing it listed in Manganews.net’s weekly list of best-selling manga in Japan.
thanks laboosh for the site!
Well then…. Ghosthunt fans of the world unite…. and enjoy watching the last few episodes of GH…. Wow this is like the premier GH blog on the web… it’s kind of too bad that Memnto and Random Curiosity didn’t pick up the series and given it more exposure…. The show is great, just not many people know about it or think it’s something it is not….
@voodoomage: me retrieving your comments, no worries. I just do it every 4-5 hours
and fyi, if randomc and memento has picked ghost hunt up, i will not have blogged it
Well they did skip the filler ep and instead started to air the final arc.
File #8 The Cursed House.
And may I say WOW! And that I am currently bursting with happiness and its only the first episode of the arc!
‘SQUEE’
Unfortunately it also means that the end comes earlier than we expect it to.
@Briar, Drat! I didn’t think of that. But it does look like once again its going to be a very good arc.
But I am going to be very sad to see this end so soon.
nooooooo did they start arc #8, i wan’t more, more(passed out) -_-
lool, anyways um downloading ep.22 nw, and i hv to wait till night to watch it,only 3 eps left ~_~’
@ LKK: wn i said “from wt i saw……”
i didnt mean my personal point of view, i meant from wt i saw in the anime news network and the votes is tht GH, the anime is more popular than the manga.
and that GH is not even rated in the top 50, which is really strange o_O
when will the blog of episode 22 come out here?
sory for my wrong grammar hehe
anyway tnx for the blog…
nice blog as always hehe
^__^
I, for one, am very glad that Memento and Random-C didn’t pick this series up. I wouldn’t have been able to speculate with so much fun as I do with the other commentators here, especially the unspoiled non-manga readers like me, of this anime.
It was really enjoyable having to share crazy speculations backed up by some almost-ridiculous facts while the other manga readers give the non-manga readers some juicy hints (and probably laugh about the wild speculations as well.
)
But just like you people, I demand an OAV or I will commit a massacre! (lol j/k). Anyway, I’ll hold my comment of episode 22 for the next blog entry that will likely come out this Thursday if I’m not mistaken.
hahahaa, I hope so. I have quite a bit of work but it will be likely to be very soon @_@;;; hopefully ^^
@ ThirteenSugars: “while the other manga readers give the non-manga readers some juicy hints (and probably laugh about the wild speculations as well.
)”
I confess that I’ve had several giggle sessions about some of the speculations regarding GH. The theories here have been pretty sensible for the most part. Speculation runs wild, rampant, and oftentimes downright bizarre in other places though.
@Thirteensugars, I’ll aid you in the massacre (just kidding). I really wouldn’t want to maim anyone at J.C Staff, because I want them to go on producing great anime like Ghost Hunt.
And I agree, its been a ton of fun speculating and guessing even if we have looked silly to those who know more than us.
On a side note, while watching 22 I had a thought. (Yes I know it doesn’t happen very often that I actually think.)
I remember someone here saying that Dream Naru might be related to someone not quite dead yet and my wild imagination started to kick in.
If Dream Naru is an extension of real Naru. Does this mean real Naru, is dying and this is why he doesn’t let himself get too close to anyone?
oh my god i watched it watched it (ep.22)
it’s great, wow, just wow

~Laboosh~ (lol) Hold it in. Save your fangirling powers till the next entry comes out. ^^
~DJ~ “If Dream Naru is an extension of real Naru. Does this mean real Naru, is dying and this is why he doesn’t let himself get too close to anyone?”
For a new wild speculation, this one is quite persuasive. ^^
@Laboosh, you are too cute! LOL its okay you didn’t spoil it for me I’ve watched 22 and it made me stupid happy too.
That and I rewatched 21 and caught the quick smile on Lin’s face when Mai said his shiki was cool. ^-^ Missed that the first time round and may I just say yummy! Naru and Lin really need to smile more often.
@ThirteenSugars, I just hope my wild speculation isn’t anywhere close to right! It would be incredibly sad if Naru was dying.
I just watched 22 too!!!
and, it is, in my opinion, the best episode so far!!!!!
man…can’t wait for the next one to come out!!!
Can’t wait for the entry for epi 22 to be up!!!
Eventhough this means we’re that much closer to finishing this season…I still can’t contain my excitement!!! cuz man, episode 22 is just AWESOME!!!!!!!
this is the first anime i came across where i had to watch the raw version without the translation in order to satisfy my dire enthusiasm -_-.
i hope impz can finish all his homeworks and start the summary on 22 ep already..
common impz we’ve been waiting sooo long, if u wan’t any help just say it,
every1 z ready to help, right guys?? (plz say yes guys),lol, if u ddnt say it um gonna be in real trouble with impz here>
Oh gosh -_- unfortunately I read the blog before I saw ep22. Spoilers for me!! But, I’m happy for Mai =D And I agree that both Naru and Lin needs to smile more! Yeah to all MaixNaru fans! Your dream came true lol
^_^;;;; it’s up already. I just took my time with the thoughts, ahaha~
I’m a MaiXNaru fan all the way!
I hate Masako, no offence to people who do like her. Well I don’t literally hate her, but I dislike her. She can be so..two-faced-ish at times.
There’s a point in the show where she’s really close to Mai and kind to her and friendly towards her, but other times she becomes a b*tch and gets all angry and jealous at Mai.
haha and ‘Naru and Lin eloping’!
I loved that. So funny.
I’m kinda curious as to what Madoka said that made Mai blush. lol
I love Mai and Naru!
Mai cause I can really understand her and her feelings and Naru because he is so unique.
SECOND SEASON PLEASE!!!!!!
