David was raving about this just a few weeks ago xD
Seems really nice! I know there’s a drama, but I should try and get the movie, then.
One question, though. Do I need Kleenex? n_n;;
Aezie added these pithy words on Feb 11 07 at 6:07 pmNone at all. :D!
Surprisingly right? They really played the entire “death” theme subtly. It wasn’t the highlight of the show. They didn’t dramatise her death, neither did they produce scenes of her dying. So its all subtle subtle. :] You see them copying with their lives and moving on after her death..
The only part where they featured her death was showing her dead corpse being buried beneath the sunflowers in a coffin. That i thought, was really beautiful and apt since she loves the sun and yet can’t come in contact with it.. So Sunflowers sorta make up for it in that sense? Thats how i link them together though. n_n
I didn’t shed a single tear. This movie leaves you with a warm snuggly feeling inside. :]

It sounds like a very thoughtful movie
Yeah.
There were alot of subtleties through out the entire show.
Its not a movie thats fast-paced or with alot of dialogue. Its alot of scenes on the lead girl watching the lead guy, or her renacting his activities earlier in the day. Its a portrayal of how she tries to relive and experience his life in the day. 8D That’s my opinion as well. She wants to know how he passes his time, she wants to know how it feels to be sitting here, drinking the same drink.
I feel that this is “kaoru’s way” of experiencing life during the daytime. 8D
Its not a loud movie, its really a peaceful movie that’s worth watching more than once. Despite the little dialogue throughout the movie, i feel that you can still understand what’s happening and still experience the build up of the movie. :]

jooo added these pithy words on Feb 13 07 at 6:54 amya, I also really like Yui’s rendition of Skyline, and I have been replaying that song in my iTunes for quite a while. Her voice is definitely great!
Impz added these pithy words on Feb 16 07 at 9:05 amWhile I admit the movie was better than the drama, I still didn’t like the ending of either one. The movie one especially felt so SUDDEn.
Hinano added these pithy words on Feb 16 07 at 9:18 amI thought the drama paled horribly in comparison to the movie. I watched it pretty much for the cast and I had to sometimes force myself to open the file. Or maybe it was just that I loved the movie so much. Now THAT was great. I was surprised to see Tsukamoto Takashi because at the time, I was used to him playing a different role. Ultimately, he did a pretty good job. I dunno about you, but I needed kleenex.
Os added these pithy words on Feb 16 07 at 11:21 amOf course YUI was perfect for the role.
If you take away the boy and the disease. It’s basically like YUI’s autobiography. After all, before she became a singer she sang on the streets at night just like the main char of the movie.

alkanphel added these pithy words on Feb 17 07 at 5:37 amwell…. i definitely needed kleenex… but i didn’t have one when i watched it so i was kind of embarrased crying in the internet cafe… YUI and tsukamoto takshi fit in the role amazingly and i liked how evryone acted i the movie… it was YUI’s first time acting and i think she did a great job i think it’s because she a and kaoru are alike…. quiet, shy, conservative, sings, plays the guitar and all… and yeah… they both sang in the streets…
for tsukamoto, i think he was really cute… heheh… specially at the rail part when kaoru suddenly pushed him… my favorite scenes were at the rails…
all of the other casts acted good as well…
yeah… and if you watch the MV of Good-bye days and I remember you of YUI, you’ll surely cry… I did.
I remember you… it was as if it was Koji singing for Kaoru…
wow I know this movie. I wanna ost. It’s so grace
