@Zephos:LOL! The psycho cat. I still remember that scene because she is always bitten by the pscyho cat. Sigh, that girl (i forgot the tall girl's name) is way too kind to be always nice to the cat. To act, I agree that Miyako and Yuno play off each other's personality, one being a very reserved, respectful and shy girl, while the other is energetic, relaxed and unreserved. This form of pairing always makes good chemistry, and it does work in real life.

I also thought that the different ritual to wake up and the little contemplations after a nice bathe is a nice way to open and close the day.

@Jiji: Hmm, chubby? Hiro is DEFINITELY NOT FAT. She's just paranoid. You know, just like 90% of the female population of the world. Luckily, she is not silly enough to be anorexic because of that :P

Yuno for me too ^_^ I liked her from the start with her wake up sequence in the first episode, but it's her constant tendency to worry that I really can relate to, along with her personality in general -- I didn't have any idea what I was getting into when I first watched the show, but I could pretty much instantly relate to getting up early in a new setting to go to art school like Yuno does, so her wake up sequences are actually one of my favorite parts in the show -- so cute! ^_^. That being said, her and Miyako play off of each other's personality perfectly which makes interaction between the two result in some of my most favorite moments in the show -- like the bread scene in Episode 3 (Which also distinctively reminded me of the psycho cat from Azumanga Daioh) ^_-

For me, Yunocchi. I guess the "merchants of moe" have me just where they want me, b/c Yuno has totally stolen my heart, after ep 5.
I don't think that Miya-chan is like Osaka, personally...I find her closer to Miu. She adds the same driving force of nuttiness to the group that Miu did (although Miu did it a LOT more, to be sure.)
One thing bugs me tho, as it did with Azumanga Daioh and Yomi--Hiro doesn't *look* fat or chubby at all, or at least not in comparison. Much as I adore anime art style and I *really* love the art of this anime, they never seem to be able to pull off "chubby". (Yes, I've seen Manabi Straight...) Of course, the argument could be made that Hiro isn't really overweight, she just has a complex about it...

@MT-i: LOL, that was what I was thinking. I really adore Osaka even though Miyako is not exactly that ditsy and spaced out, but equally random compared to Osaka. Ahahaha~. For one, your Japanese is definitely better than mine since I can hardly understand any Japanese.

After re-watching episode 4 and 5, I realized Yuno is very lovable too, with her off-tune and queer innocence. I take my words back on her being boring :P

@Hashihime: Very true. There is this rather sweet nature added by Sae's kindness ^+^

The longer this show goes, the less I can decide on a favorite. I have five favorites. Ep5 was not laugh-out-loud, but it had such a sweet nature that I really loved it.

I think I actually liked this episode better than the previous one. The representation of Yuno's dreams was quite convincing artistically, and the overall cuteness was just irresistible. There may not have been much laugh-out-loud material, but we got many little things to smile about instead, and I guess I like it better that way. (Not to mention I fail to catch some of the wordplays, etc. because my Japanese isn't quite there yet; cuteness is easier to convey :-).

As for my favorite character, I'm a little torn... Miyako I guess. She really gives off Osaka-san vibes. But Yuno would be a close second.

arrrrrrrr, Sae? I think the last two episodes made her a much better character. I mean, we have episode 4 making her go off-tune while singing a lovey dovey song and the "enlarging breast" incident. Here, we have her being considered to be a male (seems to be another running joke by Miyako) as well as her kindness despite her cool demeanor.

I guess the fact that no one comments on the series is because of the lack of English fansubs. Still, I am finding it hard to decide a real favorite. Miyu-sensei or Miyako.

Arghhhhhh, Headache, they are both so cute!

i was kind of wondering why nobody was commenting on this series, as it's my second favorite of the winter series，after nodame cantabile.

at the moment my favorite character is probably Sae, since she's cool! hehehe... i'm really liking the little artistic touches. it's a prodding and cute series and is great for passing time.
