A New Ghostbusters Game?

I’ve always been a great fan of the Ghostbusters series and this piece of news really piqued my interest. It seems to be a more nitty-gritty noir Ghostbusters game using a game engine similar to Gears of War. Whether this is a real demo or just a fake one, it’s been released by European developers Zootfly, so maybe they are trying to bait for a license to develop a full game.

This is the only piece of concept art released so far.

Here’s a gameplay video of the demo.

Wow, seems cool, may I ask which console will it (hopefully) be on?

The world is ending, I think someone remembers the old ghostbuster game. Though if this one was on the wii it would be cool. Though it looks cool already. I must try not to get my hopes to high.

Looks like the game is currently on hold, due to licencing issues.

Skinny legs. Hehe. The gameplay looks alright, but I hope they do more with the camera angles. I particularly think the zoom mode when in shooting mode needs work. On that note, I’d buy it just to go around smashing up the place, viva New York!

Seeing the demo video brings the following gamer’s mantra to mind…

    “Collateral damage be damned.”

    Cheers. :P

YEAH!! I’m a big fan of Ghostbusters too! I just loved the movies and the first animated series, called the REAL Ghostbusters. Count me in!! :D

Anyone knows if this game will be released to PS2?

Gilberto: I don’t think the PS2 could support such graphics. It’s intended to be played on a Xbox 360.

Anyway I doubt this game will ever be produced because of the horrible nightmarish quagmire that is the Ghostbuster licensings.

Not only does the original studio own the rights, each of the 4 Ghostbusters also owns the rights seperately. That makes it really messy.

    Don’t cross the streams!

    Sorry my inner geek surfaced.

I’d love to play it. If done well it could be a lot of fun. Course since we have a Wii not a 360 that would be hard to do…

It could be pretty fun on a Wii also. Use the controller to direct the proton guns :D

Oh I think it would be a blast on the Wii, but isn’t it a 360 title?

Ahh well Mario Galaxy is out later in the year, that will probably keep me busy for a while once I’m done with Twilight Princess.

Haha it’s not a title on any console yet.

    *pouts*

Ahh well back to Raving Rabbids.

Or maybe I’ll go old school and download Sonic for the Virtual Console. I had a blast playing Bomberman!

what’s with the new look? *sigh* I understand some things need to change with time, but you don’t really need to change the look and design of ghostbusters. It’s timeless. what’s with the proton packs? what happened to the ectomobile? they are going to make the same mistake as when they made “extreme ghostbusters.” Please don’t “fix” something that doesn’t need fixing. :(
