suzumiya haruhi was not hyped, it was unknown before it was shown. When it was shown, the crowd goes wild, thanks to the youtube community.
kanon was hyped, it was anticipated, but many gradually felt the hyped went the down way when it was shown, maybe because it was often compared with the old kanon, the original game, and kyon.

1. Innocent Venus – I would’ve said Yamato nadeshiko, but that’s an adaptation of an already boring manga, while Innocent Venus was an original show and could’ve been so much better.
