An onsen episode! The Shakugan no Shana team really knows how to do their comedy, I almost fell off my chair a few times. There’s no episode summary/re-iteration here, but I can do one if anyone asks for it.

What? You want hot spring pics with girls? I’m afraid you’ll have to click into the article, sir.

The episode is centered around Ogata, the short haired girl who likes Tanaka. If you don’t remember, Tanaka is the squinty eyed guy, one of Margery’s two serfs. There is little story, just gag after gag after gag, interjected with fanservice for both guys and gals.

Most of the humour stems from Oga-chan’s wild imagination; I think it’s no necessary to say what kind of imaginings she does. If you can’t figure out what it is, I’ll give you a hint: Oga-chan calls Sato her rival.

Here’s your fanservice you perv.

Of course, since this is a hot spring episode, there’s the obligatory peeking jokes and girls fondling each other scene. And I do love meself some good old fashioned fondling! The battle for Yuuji also continues here, and Whillemina and Margery both make special appearances. Whillemina’s scene is especially funny, but I won’t spoil why here. There’s also Ike, someone who you’ve probably forgotten about; it took me a while to remember that he’s Yuuji’s friend, and the class rep.

I really don’t want to give too much away, firstly because I know some people don’t find jokes they expect funny, secondly because there really isn’t much to say. I’ll mention the ED though - it’s a parody of the original ED featuring Ogata instead of Shana. It’s an interesting take on the usual ED, and I love it.

There’s also an ad for the movie at the end. It doesn’t give anything away though, just Shana running through some fire swinging her sword. It’ll be screening in Japan from April 2007.
