Ep. 27 is the first time with the new opening graphics so you haven’t missed it…One thing to note is the scene where Ryuki seems concerned about Shurei’s situation…I don’t know if the reports came back about Sakujou to him, but he looked pissed and desperate (guess it runs with the brothers ^_^)…

I hope that Shuurei falls for Seiran..sigh.

=X am I the only one here who much rather emperor/Seiran pairing than Shuurei/Seiran?

paio: I think i forgot to note this but in episode 26, we see Ryuuki noticing that a flower had fallen. That symbolizes that one of his trusted aides had been hurt or fell, which is why he is concerned. The confirmation came with Ran and the Kou clan, and I mean these two clans are technically omnipresent everywhere. Hence, the emperor knows definitely. In this episode, maybe I did not make it clear, but Reishin is already out to slaughter Sakujou for trying to be funny with Shuurei.

Ronnie: YUSH!!!! They should have more but I have to admit that Seiran is turning to a rather dark character. He seems to be consumed slowly by the evil in him.

Ori: Impzie does not like yaoi >__________>

    Tee hee ^^

    Thanks for the summary…

Cannot comment much as I’ve only seen up to episode 21 (english sub), but I’ve read your blogs there on… Would prefer Shuurei x Ryuuki, Seiran feels too much like a aniki…

Ahh.. I can’t wait to watch this!! perhaps I’ll just download raw versions tonight.. ;)

I’m a Ryuuki/Shuurei person too. :3 Sorry. XD I’ve just thought of Seiran as like a pillar of support for Shuurei and more of a brother than anything else. :] Although the ending could be that she ends up with no-one and we’ll all be -__-”. Mmhm. But, anyway. Thanks for summarising this episode! :]

this cannot be!!! i feel as f shuurei s cheating on ryuuki. i will HATE shuurei f shes going to love that sakujou guy
    shuurei x ryuuki 4ever!!!
seiran x shuurei s ok though but it doesnt seem that he s n love w/ shuurei his kind of protecting her only

  11. Posted November 23, 2006 at 7:11 am | Permalink

Anoy and Lil: hahahaha. for the last two responses, Seiran did not exactly say he is in love with Shuurei. He seems to imply that he will be by her side to be with her simply because of Sakujun.

I do not know, but that is definitely a bit of love, a bit of onii-san tendencies and well, a bit of revenge against the Killing Dagger clan. So, anoy and lil, you are probably right. However, if u ask me, Shuurei x Seiran forever!

babypris: no problem, I am just glad people enjoy my summary + thoughts ^+^. Raws? Horror *gasp*

poison: Oh, thanks. I was sure i watched each opening but I forgot. ^^

    Ymseiran: T_T me too.

Spent the whole night catching up from 21-27… My gut feeling as a girl when watching it: Shuurei is definitely falling for Sakujun… =( You don’t see Shuurei looking at the hairpin & think of Ryuuki, but she kept thinking about the time spent with Sakujun… And she didn’t react too much to Seiran’s “love confession” at the end of 27 >_

I’d like to see Shuurei with either Ryuuki or Seiran. But I’d definetely be very disappointed in her if she fell for Sakujun.

One thing I really like about Shuurei is how smart and together she is and I’d really feel let down by her character if she ended up falling for Sakujun. Although we can’t really help who we fall in love with, even if we know they aren’t good for us.

Although I was getting the impression from her before she left that maybe, just maybe she was starting to warm up to Ryuuki. She just felt that she wouldn’t be able to do what she wanted to if she ended up with him, because she would no longer be an a offical. (But couldn’t she do more good as the Emperor’s wife?) Ah well.

Oh and from the description, could it be that the fruit you were eating was a pomegranate?

I prefer Seiran WAY over Ryuuki. What can I say, I’m bias! When I see Seiran, I think of Tamahome. Especially with the later Fushigu Yuugi’s OVA episodes, Tamahome sounds EXACTLY like Seiran! Anybody else notices that Sakujun is the same voice as Hotohori?

Sakujun is actually a very complex character – the original novel seems to portray him in a much better light than in the anime. But I guess it’s very difficult to devote too much time and dwell too much on details in anime. Don’t want to be a spoiler but the ending for Sakujun is very sad. He’s someone capable of great love and he’s ready to sacrifice himself for the woman he loves, even though he knows that she would never love him the way he loves her. Shuurei did fall for him but she was able to control her feelings toward him – not the same with Sakujun.

As for Seiran, I don’t see episode 27 as his love declaration to Shuurei. Remember Ryuuki kissed Shuurei in front of Seiran several times before -Seiran didn’t react to it a bit. If you think about how much Seiran hates Sakujun (he’s responsible for Seiran’s sufferings during his earlier exiled days in the Sa province), you’d understand why Seiran reacted the way he did to Shuurei. It is because Seiran knows the kind of person Sakujun is and so he wants to protect Shuurei with all he can.

I think there’re only two possible endings, either Shuurei ends up with 1) Ryuuki or 2) nobody (but she continues to work as a successful court official for the betterment of the country and keep the story line similar to earlier episodes).

Hmm after watching ep 28 the impression I get is that Seiran and Shuurei really do see their relationship as more of a brother and sister type. And as you said his response to Sakujun is more of him trying to protect her rather than a romantic declaration of love.

As you said he didn’t seem to react much to Ryuuki kissing Shuurei. It would probably make him happy to see two people he loves be together in that way. Especially given how much Ryuuki likes Shuurei. And I know she was starting to warm up to him somewhat.

LOL and I guess the reason Seiran sounds a lot like Tamahome is because that is Tamahome’s seiyuu you’re hearing. Both Seiran and Tamahome are voiced by Hikaru Midorikawa. And you’re also right that both Sakujun and Hotohori are voiced by the same guy Takehito Koyasu. Not to mention that Ryuuki is voiced by Chichiri’s seiyuu.

  22. Posted November 26, 2006 at 9:44 pm | Permalink

DJ: OH REALLY? Heh, so Fushiji Yuugi has its roots here. woah. But yep, after episode 28, it is clear that they do not exactly have any romantic inclinations to him. There’s a few parts of episode 28 that i am very unclear about and i guess i will wait for a while before doing a review. That said, i got a feeling that Shuurei is starting to warm up, like you said. The fruit ermm, i still have no idea. I ate it half way and gave up. I couldn’t type ~_~.

Miffy: i think the latter situation will happen. They will not be silly to let go of such a good plot of Ryuuki and Shuurei so fast, especially with the new season coming through. My personal feel will be that she might be a very successful woman but with no one.

I do not know much about the manga content but Sakujun seems to be a far more complex person already. He is clearly manipulative in the anime and I must admit that i like his appearance. He gets my blood boiling and i want to see what he does. X_X

Omg, where have this anime blog been all of my life? I used to not care who Shuurei ends up with here, and judging from the posters and op/ed’s, it looks like she’ll end up with Ryuuki, but the lack of Ryuuki-ness lately made me swerve towards Seiran highway and his proposal just made me giggle. I dunno, maybe if Ryuuki appears more often, I’ll get back on track. Seiran IS right though. He’s 1000 times hotter than Sa Sakujun. Shuurei should be with him. If you think about it, who’s not gonna be happy spending her lifetime with a loving silver-haired prince with a pretty face and a deadly sword?

I also think that whoever Shuurei marries, Seiran will always be very special to her. I’ve also seen episode 28, and it looks like aside from her father, Seiran is still ahead of the others LOL So…take that Sa Sakujun >]

  24. Posted November 27, 2006 at 9:34 am | Permalink

hahahaha, i dont think anyone is ahead of anyone in the race for Shuurei’s heart. However, as long as Sakujun doesn’t win her heart, i am fine.

Rawr XD…However, even though i am a seiran x shuurei fan, i have to admit that there’s no feelings of love between the two. Love in the romantic sense.

    Sigh. =/

Hey Impz. LOL it certainly is a Fushigi Yuugi Reunion! Ahh well we’ll have to keep our fingers crossed for Shuurei and Ryuuki then. I don’t want to see her end up with Sakujun either.

Although didn’t Shuurei’s Uncle mention wanting to marry her off to Kouyuu?

I haven’t read the novels myself although I wouldn’t mind getting my hands on them.

    OHHH…a SeiranXShuurei moment!!!
ACK!! I love this pairing so much, so much, so much!!!

Luckily, as of yet, the novel is heavily relying on SeiranXShuurei, hopefully the anime should do the same too.
And dont worry about Sakujan…he wont have the chance to win Shuurei…how do I know? I read a novel summary :D
In any case, here’s to another ShuureiXSeiran fanmoment. We need a Fansite for these two..X__X

  28. Posted December 15, 2006 at 9:17 am | Permalink

    wahahaha, fansite ? that sounds interesting big time ^_^;;;

Well, i doubt he has a real chance but he being a villain seems like so cool, i like him in a strange way that he’s a good antagonist. I mean, u can have the antagonist who is boringly evil, but he is so much different…and dangerous.

  29. Vivacioussky
    Posted December 16, 2006 at 4:19 am | Permalink

That’s true…however, as per the novel, it seems Sakujan was more evil. I am also aware, the anime *after reading more of your episodes* is much different to the summaries Ive been reading. In any case, Sakujan doesnt have much of a role left. So Shuurei’s fine ^_^.
Don’t know if you wishe to be spoiled but there is a *very* interesting revelation in one of the later novels. If the anime intends to follow the novel, the protectiveness from Seiran, may just be the start of it all ^_^
In the novel, apart from the very obvious female protagonist, I think Seiran is sort of slowly taking over the place. The novel places it’s importance more on Seiran, as opposed to Ryuuki, and Shuurei’s feelings are also becoming stabilised. She definately does know at that point what she wants, and the guys she doesn’t.That’s what I found out so far. Pity I cant read the original novel *since I cant tell what’s bias and what’s not from the summaries* , because if it was SeiranXShuurei, I ould be active in there, debating tons and tons of pairings in this series ^_^
I still want the fansite….except I dont know how *cries*

Thanks!!For summarizing this episode.I like Ryuuki x Shuurei. I hope that they end up together. Cause i would be very angry if she choose Sakujun. They don’t fit at all. And Ryuuki promise Shuurei that he would fight anyone who would want to marry her. Plus i don’t think her uncle ( Kou Reishin) would approve of Sakujun at all.

  31. Posted December 17, 2006 at 7:05 pm | Permalink

hahahaha, u think reishin will ACTUALLY just disapprove that? I think sakujun will be glad that he will not be put through a woodcutter, a meat dicer and smashed through a bulldozer for trying something like that.

The Kou clan is extremely vengeful…which is why I like Reishin a lot because he is *pardon my crude language* an evil bastard!

  32. Posted January 20, 2007 at 10:25 am | Permalink

I’m a Ryuuki/Shuurei shipper myself, but from a plot standpoint, I could easily see them setting up a scenario where Shuurei may have to marry Sakujan for political reasons … and has very mixed feelings about him. She might find him physically attractive and charming, but have very deep misgivings … great angst potential there.

Ryuuki’s reaction to that would be … interesting … when he got word.

  33. rianax
    Posted January 26, 2007 at 11:45 pm | Permalink

Sakujun gets under Shuurei’s skin and disturbs her on a fundemental level. Ryuuki has always been very passionate and open about his affections for Shuurei, but always, always respectful.

Sakujun pushes far into her emotional and physical space, giving no quarter, and leaving no room for escape. He keeps Shuurei off balance and that messes with her more than anyone else knows. Shuurei, even kidnapped or harressed, knows herself and Sakujun makes her doubt that.
