This is an OVA, not an anime series, right? Considering how many episodes Kyoani and Makoto Shinkai make in the same amount of time, they’re really incomparable.

You guys should take a look at the article on the company on ANN. And yes, KYOANI WAS UTTERLY DESTROYED! But for something like Kanon, the budget has to be split on 26 episodes, so it’s not really fair.
