Saiunkoku Monogatari Ep 26

snapshot20061107152948-resi.jpg

This entry comes a little slow, since I was happily distracted by all the new anime and neglecting Saiunkoku Monogatari. Well, at least I pick it up, because I realize that there is not much blogs talking about it. In fact, up to the current episode, I actually notice that THAT is the only blog that is mentioning Saiunkoku. Why?

Fansub problem?

No interest?

*cries* Anyway, a brief summary of what happens which in fact turns out to be a completely long full summary.

I love it whenever I said that it would be brief and it turns out to be a monster of a summary.

Episode 26 – Hard to distinguish the truth from falsity (难以分辨)

saimono26-1.jpg

This episode follows up on Shuurei’s trip here and realizing that the person who she was traveling was not who he appears to be. Shuurei was going around town to find the person bearing the seal and it was in fact Ryuuren who was holding it. Shuurei immediately realized it because no one would dare to deal with such a weirdo. She also found that everyone was in the Sa mansion and that Ryuuren knew exactly who the red haired Seiyang was.

As we switched to the enemies, it seemed that they had an internal struggle, with the leader of the “Killing Dagger Gang” betraying the eldest brother, telling him that the person that was really controlling the thing was tired of his antics. The aftermath was shown, with many gang members and the eldest brother all dead.

With that, Seiran and Ensei reached the scene, fighting off the intruders. However, as they had Eigetsu and Kourin as hostages, they forced Ensei to be without his spear. However, Ensei used a spear in order to conceal his danger in unarmed fighting, as they literally obliterated their enemies.

They also caught wind about Shuurei meeting up with “Seiyang” and rushed off, leaving Ryuuren and the alcohol induced Yogetsu to defend the area. They rushed over as we switched to the scene of Shuurei reaching the place and noticing that there was a massacre, even though the bodies were all carried away. “Seiyang” was in fact the second brother of the Sa clan, Sa Seichou (i think desu~), the mastermind behind everything to get Shuurei here (yes, including the killing dagger gang and all that jazz).

Shuurei was asking who he was and she got the answer. Then, she was dragged helplessly onto the bed, without putting on any resistance as he played with her (not in the sexual sense yet), telling her about how he loved to find people that were interesting to be with him. He loved her but Shuurei said that she was only a toy to him as we had her thinking of Ryuuki. Seichou then continued to feed her words, telling her that it was useless to escape since she would be his.

Everything he wanted would be his as always and there was nothing anyone could do as he kissed her on the mouth. He then removed the hairpin given by Ryuuki as a seal of trust (the flower) and used it to deflect the dagger thrown by Seiran and co who arrived at the scene. Seichou then antagonized Seiran by telling him that he was the one who sent the unconscious Seiran to the Killing Dagger gang and Seiran nearly lost his cool until Shuurei reminded him of the mission.

However, Seichou still escaped with no charges since they do not have any evidence of him doing anything. The killing had nothing to do with him and they could not establish any relationship at all. With that, he left out of the room through the window as the guards as well as the mayor of Jin town arrived to the scene. Shuurei was drained out after the tension with Seichou and fainted.

Ryuuki, in his throne room, saw the falling flower, a symbolization of Shuurei falling.

Thoughts

Haha, as expected, the red bishie, Sa Seichou, is the mastermind behind everything. For once, I have guessed rightly, and he seems to be a really dangerous antagonist, since he was able to escape from the clutches, even playing with Shuurei for a while. I am really worried this time because they are handling a person who is in the royal family, without any loopholes in order to capture him for all the atrocities he had done.

He has a trump card against Seiran, since that it seems that Seiran is starting to lose his cool and that will definitely work to his hands, trying to disrupt Seiran with his words. It seems that Seiran has a very deep feud with the “Killing Dagger Gang” and possibly rightfully so. I do wonder what is the exact feud since they have not said it just yet. We do know from the fight against the leader that it was Seiran and Ensei who had destroyed all possible traces of the gang years ago.

I wonder though. What had happened then?

The fact that they have a political marriage arrangement that was unfulfilled yet meant that he does have a trump card above Shuurei and I will like to see how she can escape, since she still has to get to the capital of Sa province. She is no longer able to escape and the hairpin of trust is something I feel she has to retrieve back. I do not really know much about the true symbolization of the flower but the fact that it is a matter of huge trust (remember, only Ri, Ran, Eigetsu and her have it) meant that she has to get it back somehow by all costs.

I also can understand why Shuurei cannot fight back. Firstly, she is bind by her duty as a governor to get rid of this most problematic foe. Yet, she is still a normal person that cannot fight back. Also, she seems to be holding back the emotions and the confusion of Seichou with Ryuuki is troubling her heart. That probably had made her think whether Seichou’s manipulative words are true or false and possibly accepting it. She can fight back technically, but she knows she’s alone. She has to deal with this alone because she cannot depend on anyone when it comes to the job of a governor.

This is her role: to fight whatever against her in Sa province. To me, it is probably a matter of honor that an official ought to have. Do not think of her as a woman, but as an official. That is the true embodiment of that philosophy in dealing with him. Fighting back physically will do nothing but aggrevate the situation, hence she can only do what she can to delay it.

Remember too that she has the details about Seiran and Ensei being in the same area. They would probably be able to pre-empt what she is thinking, plus the fact that Ryuuren is with them and will go over to save his “best buddy no 2″ Eigetsu.

That is how I believe Shuurei was thinking, hoping to gather more information while delaying time for the rest to arrive to save her.

Next episode by the way is about the aftermath of the situation. The title is

Definitely lack of fansubs ._. Although Shadow and her fansub group is doing a fantastic job with the fansubs (they’re up to ep 20 currently). I’m accumulating the episodes and will wait after my finals to marathon it xD

Saiunkoku Monogatari retains #1 spot in my family as anime to watch. Too bad that there will be 2 week lay off before the next episode.

Thanks for the summary! I enjoy this series too.
I’m slightly confuse on how she can mix Ryuuki w/the red head. I do see that she does do that in the anime, but don’t really understand why.
    POOR Sieran!!

well, i think it is clear that the overt actions of the red bishie can remind her of Ryuuki, who is the same yet different in the purpose of doing it.

Ryuuki advanced as he truly loved Shuurei. This Seichou can go die for all I care >_>

    >_>

    <_<

I must admit too that Shuurei might find no way out of this political marriage. I pray otherwise, as Sai taichou is coming over supposedly as well. I am sure he has something planned out.

    That bugger old man.

*ahem* Red-haired bishie is named Sa Sakujun, not Seichou.

yea, i did mention that i cannot get the right meaning. I kept listening to the japanese voice and was like meh @_@

Thanks for it, I was just thinking because since the names are adapted into chinese, they should have 3 characters only rather than 4.

Ok, will edit that in ^+^ thankies.

Sa Sakujun used the name Lin Senya when he first met Shuurei. ^^

So that’s why you heard Seiyang :D

love the blog. i really like this episode and how it has advanced. sa sakujun acute mind is way more unpredictable than shi ryuuki.

cant wait to see how he eliminate the obstacles in order to gain shuurei as his wife. considering she’s a Kou, friend of Ran’s clan. Not to meantion lover of the emperor.
