ONEE-SAMA, ONEE-SAMA, ONEE-SAMA! (say this one hundred times faster than the normal human and repeat it until satisfied)
“I am going to be your bride.”
Why don’t you BE my bride instead, Ichiko?
And with that, I am going to take a stand and say that Otome episode 5 is still good, without too much of the humor. It contradicts with what I say on episode 3, but this episode flows well enough.

Episode guist

Mariya found out about Ichiko and revealed to her that Mizuho is in fact a guy as she swept his skirt up. Ichiko did not mind, and said it was her wish to be the bride of her onee-sama. At first, when Yukari found out, she totally freaked out and fell sick. They then went over to school, with Mizuho troubled. Back in the house, Ichiko was trying all her means to get out of the hostel with no avail. As she saw a door open, she went in, totally freaking poor Yukari out until Ichiko started crying as well. After that, everyone in the hostel got used to Ichiko and her appearance.
On the other hand, Mizuho went to the library to check out on the history of ex-elders in order to know who Ichiko’s elder was. Takako freaked out when Mizuho talked about spirits but still pointed her to the books that the student council had. It was in fact her mother as we got into a dreamy sequence where Mizuho saw the vision of her mother, as well as the fact that her mother was already dead now.
She then came back, only to notice that Ichiko was crying because she was scared that Mizuho would disappear if she was to sleep again. Mizuho then held her hands, bringing her to the church where Mizuho promised to marry her. Ichiko was delighted as she floated up in the sky in a brilliant light, doing what her mother could not last time. As she returned back, Ichiko was there waiting, leaving Mizuho completely bewildered.

Thoughts

Now I can fully understand why in the official contest between the Otoboku characters, Takako won the official competition. I mean, look at the sequence of events that happened.
Yes, I did my best to make a decent translation. I will officially fail if I ever become a translator. -_-
1. There….there….is no ghost! Ghosts do not exist in this world…Didn’t I say that before?
2. Why are you getting worked up so badly for this small thing?
3. Do I look like I am getting worked up? Huh? No, i am not!
4. Let’s go already, *spectacle girl*
5. Well then, I will take my leave, onee-sama, Gokegenyou (formal goodbye)
6. *sweatdrops*
Do I need to say more? Takako’s the woman, baby!

And a last point to note….
Why did Ichiko say it was simply amazing and incredible when Mariya flipped Mizuho’s skirt to show that Mizuho is in fact a guy?
I am disturbed because I am thinking something really wrong -_-;;;

And Why did Yukari make Ichiko cry?
Ok. Next episode seems to be a total battle between Mariya and Takako. I am so going to enjoy it, since they are my favorite two characters in Otoboku.

From what I’ve seen… Mizuho being a guy means that it’s perfectly FINE for her to marry her onee-sama, since she’s really a he, and won’t be married off to another man then. So it’s the best of both worlds for her… except for the fact she’s dead. Especially since her onee-sama was this onee-sama’s mother, and she looks JUST like her, so that means there’s a way to transfer over her affections.
Haesslich, I think you’re reading too much into it, and it’s just because Mizuho is really well endowed.
Of course, seeing he’s a Japanese person, all 4 inches of well-endowed-ness.
Well endowed? I’ve seen him in a bathing suit. He must be the least endowed male on the planet.
