The gathering of GHOSTBUSTERS!

Wow, i am surprised that no one around had blogged about this after episode 2. This is one of the most interesting and scientifically based anime that I have seen so far. Man, am I the only baka that is in love with this show? Fansubs, I am really appealing now. I know all of you want fame, but at least do these under-appreicated anime, please?

I really like this series quite a lot. I cannot believe that I actually wanted to drop this because I had other things I want to watch, like all the haremistic anime. This is probably going to be a very comfortable and easy series that will probably be a nice watch at the very least. It won’t explode you but it will be a nice series to keep in touch with when you feel like watching something on a rainy day.

Now, let us go on to the episode summary.

Episode summary

Note: Might be a bit sketchy but it will give you the general outline

We have the witch starting to make a ritual in order to expel the spirit in the place. As she finished her ritual, the glass suddenly broke and the principal and another man had to go to the hospital via an ambulance after being assaulted by the shattered glass. As they gathered back to the meeting place with all the ghost busting machinery, the shrine maiden said that she still could not detect any ghosts in the vicinity. Karada (the bespectaled psychic) insisted that there was something here. She then went to check it out and we hear a loud scream as she fell out of the house.

She was then sent to the hospital but the shrine maiden added that there were no spirits as she left with the ambulance. As they discussed about it, Karada insisted that there were ghosts and said about the witch incident where the witch was locked up as well as the screeching sounds. However, Shibuya noted that there was nothing with the temperature and the fact that the wall had broken due to the materials being weak was why the shrine maiden fell and not because of spirits.

It was now the exorcist’s turn to try repelling the spirit using a christian chant and holy water. As they observed in the meeting room, the ceiling suddenly creaked and was able to fall. Mai rushed over to warn the exorcist just in time for him to escape the crumblin g wall. Shibuya went over and told everyone to leave as it was dangerous to be here. He then told Mai that he had something more to do here.

The next day, Mai found Shibuya sleeping and woke him up, finding his face extremely cute as she blushed. Shibuya said he had solved the puzzle as everyone gathered over. This is also where I might be unclear in the correct reasoning but it should be fairly accurate. As there was a river underneath the soil of the house. The ground surrounding the house were tons of wells but they have all dried up. The soil in the house was already very soft and due to the vaccum space created by the drying up of water, it was why the ground was starting to sink and the house exerted its weight and started to sink as well. That was why the chair moved and that the creaking sounds. As they packed up, Karada noted that there was a spirit and they made a mistake.

Suddenly, the spirit started to move as glass exploded, doors started to open and close and there was banging on the wall, all signs of poltergeists. Shibuya could not think of a reason for it and left, with the monk and witch mocking him that he was escaping. Mai was exasperated but continued to stay as she installed a mic on the second floor. At night, the monk was doing rituals once again to get rid of the spirit. They then had footsteps around the stairs as the monk ran to check it out. However, he saw nothing until the sounds got louder once again. Everything started to fall as Mai was about to be crushed by one of the sliding doors.

Is there a poltergeist? Or human causes?

Thoughts

I did not really catch the puzzle solving part because I am a tad lost on what exactly is the reasoning. I think i got the rough idea inside since it has something to do with vaccum space created by the underground river. It was pretty good to have such a series that used ghost hunting to debunk myths yet still gives more mystery.

I still did not see any ghosts in this series just yet. Maybe this is the charm of the show. They could jolly well make a ghost series where all the ghosts are creepy and scary but they did not do so. They made use of sheer suspense in order to keep the ghost intact yet there is still a slight anticipation of where the ghost is.

For some reason, Karada seems to be the suspicious one. There are already hints that she is probably the person that is causing the trouble. However, I have no conclusive reasoning to how she is able to be doing the poltergeist act after the shrine maiden fell because she was in the vicinity. Unless Karada is a real psychic that can conjure up the spirits and cause her intense energy to be embodied into the form of a poltergeist, I cannot think of any scientific phenomena to explain this.

The fact that there is no possibilities of hypnosis by anyone in the vicinity makes this even more strange. I wonder how it is going to be done but I will just await the third episode to explain all this to me. I also like the Mai having a crush on Shibuya because he’s cute. Mai is amusing as a character but very flat in personality. So yea, no one really makes me remember them clearly but the theme of the show is decent at the very least.

Nice episode. Seems like next episode is the end of this arc.

oh, the witch, rofl!!!! oh well, but the show is pretty nice actually. I guess i try not to put too much bias on the graphics as long as it’s not disgustingly bad. =3

Well… not to be a bitch, but there are English language fansubs for Ghost Hunt and I don’t get why you’re complaining. :P While it’s true ep2 didn’t get subbed yet, the lag still ain’t big.

hahaha, i always complain quite a bit. Well, it is more like the fact that Kanon and the rest get subbed almost immediately. Now, ghost hunt is already on episode 3 and that episode 2 isn;t?
