hahaha, it’s not too bad but it’s hardly any where near Aria to be honest. Still, it’s a good watch, especially with some good wine and an armchair, haha!

I know this blog post is old but hey, I like Aria type shows, so oh well I guess I’ll start watching it after my exams… I mean sure it’s for more mature audiences but I really liked the not to visually stunning, yet simply classy and cool looking visuals… Well thats what I saw from the screen shots haha… and a few clips of the show I saw somewhere… Yeah added to my watch list it shall be…

Watching Bartender, it, I couldn’t help but think I’d seen something like it before. Then it occured to me. A mystical place with a special person working there who knows that they have a special responsibility to make customers happy. You guessed it:

Bartender = Kokoro Library for alcoholics.

That said, I liked Bartender. You’re right about the relaxed feeling. Look, it’ll never run on Toonami, and it’s not the kind of thing you’d play at an anime club meeting, but it is the kind of thing you’d watch after dark, alone or with a special someone - wistful, nostalgic, and a little romantic. It won’t fly with the Naruto crowd, but I’m older than they are anyhow, and appreciate things that can take it slow, with a little style.

I’m watching bartender for a simple fact that I work as a bartender from time to time.
And interesting to see a Grasshopper done pousse-cafe style. Most of the time, all the ingredients are mixed together for the simple fact that not a lot of people would want to drink the cream first.

Bartender is the slice of life anime for people who like fighting and hot-blooded mecha. It’s a man’s slice of life.

I think the bar is simply the places where the stories are told, probably every episode will be a different story.

I’m soooo not going to debate on whether Bartender is as good as ARIA, because their settings are totally different. I was just using ARIA as an example because their genre-type is more or less the same.

Slice-of-life. Soul healing stories. Leisurely pacing. Feel-good anime. Etc…

Well, if you are a fan of ARIA, chances are high that you will like Bartender as well. I wrote some thoughts at Hung’s and some on AnimeSuki, but I think I fleshed out most of it properly at Retsgip’s blog.

This is a slice of life anime, and I predict that much like ARIA; not many people will be blogging about it, but a significant portion of the population will be watching.

Watching Bartender is meant to be like reading Chicken Soup For The Soul.

Looking at the images you posted, it looks really boring. I will watch the first episode though, maybe it’s a very funny anime, where they tell jokes behind the bar or something.
