Ghost Hunt: Can you catch em’ all! Gonna catch em all all ~

Hmm, yet another show that I have been rather interested to watch for quite a while. It seems that it is pretty funny, and yet another possible hit from J.C staff again. They are really making me like them quite a bit with the exaggerated facial expressions and humor, with the heavy technical bits about ghosts. I have not seen any bit of the ghost just yet but the graphics are decent enough for me to continue watching.

I found that the instrumental OP + ED are decent but since it is instrumental without any true visuals, I am pretty normal with it. I usually try to associate the OP with the anime itself. However, it is pleasant to hear.

Anyway, this is still a 50%-50% anime. On one hand, I would like to see what happens with the series. On the other hand, I have many anime series that requires my attention just as well, so I am not too sure. I have to see how it goes. Read on for more…

Character

Mai: A normal schoolgirl that enjoys a bit of ghost stuff. She unwittingly injures the assistant of Shibuya, one mysterious senpai that claims to be a ghost hunter. She seems to be rather basic, with a good sense of humor and she acts a little bimbo at times. Read: ditsy yet it is clear that she is very normal as a human being, having fear of spirits and the likes.

Shibuya: A ghost hunter that is recruited by the principal due to his abilities. He seems to have a disdain for humans, as his eyes have no love of anyone even though he is smiling. He is also extremely clever, good looking and narcisstic. Man, a complete douchebag. And I already like him.

Brief Episode summary

Mai was talking with her friends about ghost stories as they turned off the light. Suddenly, a new voice came in, scaring them. It was Shibuya and her friends were totally swooning over the hot guy. However, Mai felt that there was something strange with the man, especially with his eyes. He also offered to be with them when they were talking about ghost stories.

As Mai escaped and came to school earlier, she noticed about the tale that was said yesterday about the old school. She saw a camera and was curious why it was there. However, a voice scared her and something crumbled down onto her. However, a man pushed her away and he was injured. We then realized that it was Shibuya’s assistant. Shibuya then told her to compensate by being his assistant as she would not be able to pay for the camera damages. She was also the one that indirectly caused the injury.

As she was asked by Shibuya to investigate the house, she was asked by the spectacle girl (medium-san) whether she could be recommended. However, Mai’s friends dragged her away, saying that medium-san was queer. As Shibuya and her checked out the mansion, they found nothing. Their next time there, it seemed that the principal had hired a few others for the ghost hunt, including a witch, a monk, a priestess, a excorist and all that stuff.

With that, they went around to find this spiritual presence. The medium girl also said that she sensed a very powerful spirit and it strangled her. They then went on to investigate whether it was true or false.

Thoughts

I really feel that this series can be a comedy/horror flick that will interest me quite a bit. Even though the characters are pretty bland, I like the dynamics of Mai with Shibuya. She seemed to have this strange concept of people and I think that the quirkness is something that I like in a series.

I have not seen any ghosts yet so I do not know how this will turn out, seriously. I need some time to check this out. So, I will put this under KIV, simply because it does not tell enough for me to make a proper verdict on yes or no.

Maybe…I think this will look pretty good, if u ask me
