Oops..sorry for double posting, but the web has some problem with my text.

(Spoiler!!) Basicly, Rika and Yuuichi both leave the hospital (Although she still need to be back there for check ups) She enters Yuuichi's school and live a normal happy life. In the end, (If I read it correctly) she DID marry with Yuuichi in the end of chapter 1 in Vol.8~ Tee hee~
Oh and one more thing... nobody dies until the end of the novel. (End of Spoiler)

Yeah, this will always be my fav anime, always.

Yup, although I have no idea about Japanese, so I only look at the insert pictures and some basic conversation.

I think that is a usual problem of transisting from one medium to another. The fact is that written novel form is often very rich in nature, especially on the content, as it does not have visual support for it.

That is also why it will be hard for the anime to present everything inside that is meaningful, as anime is usually seen to be concise in its presentation. I must admit for the various series that i have read the novels/manga before watching the anime, my expectations generally tend to be higher.

The fact is that the higher i expect it due to the richness and presentation in the novel, it fails me when I felt that a certain scene comes in. Still, hanbun is a very good piece of art. It will never be anyone's top 10 anime, but it is memorable enough to be remembered as an anime that is watched.

I guess i had the benefit of the doubt without reading the novel. Glad to know...*care to spoil me a little on the true ending?*

Cannot say that this is the best romance series, but sure it is the best one for me.

Well, I personally think that 6 episodes is totally unjust for
this series. Imagine shrinking 5 volumes of novel into a 3-hour-show (6 episodes). You sure lack a lot of detail.
In fact, the last volume of the novel has already released in Japan. Yep, It's the ending.

About the anime, I think that for those who haven't read the novel before. This is terrific. I really want to praise WOWOW for a reat job even with only 6 episodes time slot. They managed to make a rush looks normal, and set an ending very well. Totally won my heart 100/100.

hahah, yes, i have heard of the live action coming soon. However, i generally do not like real drama, so ermm yea. I mean there is even yotsuba live action soon but i guess i just like the premise of animation more.

thanks!

..yea, but it was implied that Rika will die earlier than Yuichi. Not that i mind, but at least the ending was nice u_u....

I was so touched, i wish sometimes romance like this will appear in my life =/

Hanbun was it's season best series. First and last episode were reasons why I liked it, more precisely the last moments from both. I really love those scenes where one side from main couple dramatically confess something at the cliff and after that they decide to love each other forever. SO romantic and sad. =)

Short lenght was perfect for this, it didn't feel rushed at all for me. The end also was surprising, I expected that at least one of them die. Nice surprise though.

I liked this short and sweet series a lot. Like you said, it's not the greatest thing romance created, but it is a more refreshing one. I must say though, I bawl my eyes out when Yuichi made his confession to her at her bedside in the last episode.
