I mean, bad boys tended to be mistreating their gfs (just like how the ex's gf, Nana's boyfriend was). However, Yano is more like an imperfect man, but he is generally very nice as a boyfriend. However, I think it's his apparent fear of relationships after he was betrayed by his first gf. He is probably emotionally weak, considering he is just as you said 15. The thing is, I think Takeuchi is betting on the fact that Nana can save his friend from the vicious cycle. If he really does so, he is the best friend ever. I mean, Takeuchi had done various things (subtly) to bring the two together. So yea... Well, i would not say that Yano is a bad boy per se. However, I think the dislike of Yano makes him more human. I mean, if he is such a perfect person, the show wont be as good as it is.
