I have finally finished watching Nanoha the first series a few days ago and had people telling me that A’s was like pwnage. In fact, for the whole series, I really fell in love with the character Fate, who was a beautiful character that was paramountly sad. Glad that they did not kill her off, because she is now back in Nanoha A’s with Nanoha, with a few more new characters added to the mix.
I must say that my expectations for this series was very high, considering that I have found that the quality of Nanoha was rather groundbreaking for a mahou shoujo series. Most mahou shoujo series tended to be light-hearted in nature, with the cute factor looming all over it. That was also the reason why I liked Nanoha because the theme was darker in nature, dealing with child abuse and psychological trauma, which I thought was good for this genre.
This second series, in one single word, was magnificant.
Everything that I have expected of it came true and it walloped all the silly expectations so easily before you could summon anything to kill an ant. The graphics were definitely upped, with three new Vespa (i am sure i spelt that wrongly but ermm) typed knights into the mix. The brief story about this Nanoha A’s was that the time frame had been set 6 months after the initial battle with Fate in order to get the 21 jewels. Fate was sent over to the main office of the time-dimension unit for her trial. Nanoha then stayed back in Earth, back to her normal life. She continued to train hard with Raging heart (her intelligent device to cast spells) during her free time.
However, if everything is well, we will have no story right? Nanoha was suddenly assaulted by a chibi called Vita, who literally owned the hell out of Nanoha with her form of magic. She was actually one of the guardians of this special lost magic item called “The book of destruction”. It was a hunt in order to absorb magic in order to fill the 666 pages in this book. Once this book was filled, something awful would happen (don’t ask me, I haven’t watched that far). There were two other guardians but they won’t appear until slightly later in the series.
Hence, Nanoha was once again embroiled into a chase for this book, who the master of the book was and the like…I am very excited to watch this series by the way. The story was fast-paced and there was no point of time that I felt that it was filler. The action was definitely upped, with the new guardians that had their own brand of magic. With so many varieties of magic on display, it made me extremely happy! Can’t wait to finish the series and make a proper review. For now, i will leave you all with screenshots of the zomg anime!
P/s Fate rocks. BIG TIME.
